voters in the end blame those in power for wielding power ineffectively

This guy isn't a complete idiot - as seems the norm any more for pundits of most stripes - but, uh .... dude.

2012 was, in fact, the pre-eminent historical example of exactly the opposite of what he asserts here.

Of course I don't know the full explanation. Obviously a seriously cretinized electorate (I refer mostly to "high information" "educated" voters here, not herded droogs - but prefer "high disinformation voters" for the NPR/edumucated crowd) is key. As is a completely collapsed information system (the press). And I'm kinda starting to think that another key factor is how insulated so many are from most parts of reality (horrible economy, lawlessness from above on many issues, of course diastrous and dishonorable foreign policy). The explosion in guvamint assistance, and employment, makes the isolation from economic reality possible - perhaps in numbers that, for the first time, are material to national elections.

I believe 219 of 234 elected GOP House members exceeded the worst president in history's victory margin - that is, essentially all of them. This despicable idiot is the first re-elected incumbent to lose states and lose margin in his "victory". There are the mysterious missing 5-7 million voters.

But there's still no chance this guy or his "ideas" will ever be widely seen as to be as ludicrous and disastrous as they clearly are to any sensible and informed person. There's not a bit of leverage to be found in that corner, my friend.

I don’t think President Obama wants to go down as the worst president in history, do you?

Like he cares? His sycophants will write history.

I still believe, despite the results of the 2012 election, that voters in the end blame those in power for wielding power ineffectively. Get out the vote operations and a charismatic candidate can only buy you so much time against reality.

As long as it's enough time to consolidate power, it won't matter who they blame. Reality won't matter after that Winston.
