Cliff-jumping with Barack
Where is the other part of President Obama’s vaunted “balanced approach”? Where are the spending cuts, both discretionary and entitlement: Medicare, Medicaid and now Obamacare (the health-care trio) and Social Security? …
Why are the Republicans playing along? Because it is assumed that Obama has the upper hand. Unless Republicans acquiesce and get the best deal they can right now, tax rates will rise across the board on Jan. 1, and the GOP will be left without any bargaining chips.
But what about Obama? If we all cliff-dive, he gets to preside over yet another recession. It will wreck his second term. Sure, Republicans will get blamed. But Obama is never running again. He cares about his legacy. You think he wants a second term with a double-dip recession, 9 percent unemployment and a totally gridlocked Congress? Republicans have to stop playing as if they have no cards.

Kinda looks that way…
This much is true. Obama might be willing to live with another recession and 9 percent unemployment, but the Democratic Senate is not so inclined. And as long as the House is needed to pay for it all, the Republicans hold power. Obama might escape blame, but Senators still have to get re-elected. And there are a lot of Democrats up next time.

I should add, I would just love to see the veins in bho’s head get all bent out of shape if the r’s did buck him! That would give the r’s a much better approval IMO! Well at least with us!

Every single Republican should talk about this and only this – only this – until they sound like a broken record and the media is forced to report on it. Instead, they will negotiate, capitulate – giving Obama at least 99% of what he wants, assume all responsibility for the devastation, and then fold as a politically relevant party in 2014.

His legacy? His jock sniffers will be writing the history books, teaching the children, and producing the entertainment Chaz. Obama could indiscriminately start nuking allies and endorse pedophilia and he’d still go down in history as the best president ever. Pull your head out.

You’re both assuming that his “reign” will end in 2016. I’m not so sure.

I’m afraid the Democrats have learned they are rewarded by failure. Their GSEs gave them the presidency and allowed them to blame Bush for everything, more people on the government teet means more to vote democrat. Even in red states, which they can then demonize as net takers despite the takers voting blue. Racial harmony? That doesn’t benefit them either. We need to face the fact that one party isn’t incentivized to fix anything.

Wrong premises:
1. Obama only cares about himself.
2. Obama will not only avoid, he will enjoy the 2013 recession.
3. Obama is after the total destruction of the middle class, yes, you fools.
4. The Rs are always fools. They don’t learn, not the 2nd, nor the 3rd, nor the x time.
5. Obama will love for the land to dive into the cliff. The higher his and Michelle’s perches will be.
Louis XV and Madame de Obamanette will enjoy the lobsters.
Wake up all fools, from the left, to the right.
One more thing, may all the establishment creatures and all the politicians, incl. Obama, drop into the cliff and go under.
The entire “cliff” analogy is all b.s.

Charles I love you but sometimes your naivety is like a young child.
Obama is destroying this nation on purpose (see Cloward – Piven). He will probably continue to rule this country for decades. The game is nearly over and while the Republicans were playing checkers the liberals/communists were playing chess.

Why, yes, yes he does, it’s all part of his “fundamentally changing America” plan.
JPeterman on November 30, 2012 at 4:24 PM
After watching the recent election, it is obvious that our side will get blamed no matter what happens. Therefore, screw Obama! The House should not even acknowledge that he exists. Let him play his stupid campaign games until the entire country is on fire and he’s forced to beg. The congressional GOP should just go home at wait until an adult shows up for a real conversation.

Well isn’t this special? bho is keeping a ‘list’ of those in dc who don’t come around to his way of thinking on the cliff? Is this another ‘kill list’ by bho? This is getting past the point of even being funny?

Charles, is there any evidence Obama cares about any of the things you think he does? Any evidence at all? Other than that a sane rational non-socialist would care?
You are not dealing with a normal human being. You are dealing with a doctrinaire and enlightened new socialist, the populist kind a universal suffrage democracy produces. The kind who thinks he understands the “past mistakes” made by traditional classic socialists in the past.
What “legacy” do you think he cares about? You are talking about someone who thinks US history up until recently is one long horror story of atrocities, injustices, and exploitation with rare exceptions.
You have a medical degree in psychiatry, Charles. Don’t you understand what you are dealing with? What would Marx do, Charles. What would Lenin do? What would Trotsky do? What would Stalin do? What would Mao do? What would Castro do? What would Chavez do? What would Bill Ayers do?
Answer these questions and you will have a clue about what Obama does, why he does it, and what he will do.

BTW, Obama is enjoying every second of watching what he considers capitalist pigs, their Republican running dogs, and those with self-evidently unfairly-gotten gains squeal.
He assumes they will cave because they will lose more money if they don’t. He assumes that even if they do not the economy will recover because greedy capitalists will always find a way to make more money.
And what does he think about the wealthy who support him, such as Buffet? He considers them useful idiots who are working off the guilt of what they did to acquire their wealth, and who are somewhat redeeming themselves by supporting him and his policies.
His “fun” proposal, as characterized by his sock puppet Jay Carney, is evidence of megalomania.

Bring up a bill that reduces taxes on the middle class and raises taxes on the top 2 percent by 3 percent.
In that bill, have a raising of the retirement age phased in in ten years.
On top of that, include a 15 percent privatization of social security.
Make the Democrats kill it.
blatantblue on November 30, 2012 at 5:27 PM
Rush is right. Obama doesn’t care about his legacy in the same way a real American president would. His desired legacy is to have brought down Capitalism and changed America to be in his image.
Vote present. Make him own it.
Let it burn.
