Dems to GOP: Stop stalling and name your entitlement cuts
Senate Democrats are blaming Republicans for the slow pace of the fiscal cliff negotiations, arguing that Republicans have failed to lay out the entitlement spending cuts they want to see as part of a deal. …
Senate Democrats say they have made their opening bid on the revenue side by pushing House Republicans to approve a Senate-passed bill to extend the Bush-era tax cuts for the middle class while raising tax rates on the wealthy.
Now, Democrats want Republicans to offer up the spending cuts they want to see – a move the GOP doesn’t seem inclined to make right now. …
For their part, Republicans argue that they have passed a budget that included significant entitlement reforms and now it’s up to the president to say what cuts he will support.

So the Democrats are lying the media are supporting them again. Go figure.

Yeah, the GOP offers up a list of cuts. The Dems denounce them as draconian and mean-spirited while giving no counteroffer of their own. And nothing gets done. You don’t need a crystal ball to see how this one plays out.

GOP to Dems: Stop stalling and pass a budget
right2bright on November 29, 2012 at 8:08 AM
BTW, this is what you get when you get pulled off topic…every single interview, every appearance on a news show, every contact with a journalist should be begin with:
“We will talk seriously about these issues when the Senate gets serious and passes a budget, for literally years now the Senate has not passed a budget, so there can be no budget cuts without a budget…”
But the Republican’s are too selfish, to self absorbed to understand the effect of team work…

Ah, but the MSM has a different narrative…

Why, so you can call us racist sooner?
MelonCollie on November 29, 2012 at 8:24 AM
Yeah, right. The focus should be on what do we get for agreeing to “increased revenue”? I seriously doubt that congressional Republicans will have the guts to force the issue, though. I see a massive cave-in coming.

Why supply ammo to your avowed enemy?
The Dems won.
Let them make the first move.

SAYanything.
Let’s play “chicken” for a bit, and get THEIR response.
Tell them what they claim they want. Suggest cutting off all international support and deep cuts to defense.
It will split them down the middle.

Indeed.
In football you can’t fend off the rush if you don’t know that some of the blitzers are wearing black and white stripes.

The Dems are in charge. The GOP needs to repeat that they’re ready to work with Democrats, and that they’re eager to see the President’s plan.
hawksruleva on November 29, 2012 at 10:24 AM
Lately, I wonder if the bigger issue is the mixed messages sent by the GOP. We’re the party of small government – except we want to pass a law outlawing same-sex marriage. More and more voters have the perception that Republicans are the party of intrusive big government.
