In your haste to be a snarkass, you failed to see that the juxtaposition of thin – or fat – against the term “macho” indicates that the use of the term macho is not what the findings in the article reported. What the title should have read was that women prefer immunity over machismo.

Despite the summary’s headline, that’s not what the article says. My take is that (they find) no statistical correlation at all between ‘macho’ and a healthy immune system, but there is a correlation between being thin and a healthy immune system. And women are able to pick up on this.

In other words, you can be a low body fat gymnast and be macho, or be a pudgy offensive lineman and be macho. But, in general, the gymnast is healthier.
