“My intent was not to compare him to Jesus”
He dismissed critics who called the display blasphemous.
“The crucifixion of the president was meant metaphorically,” he told Fox News. “My intent was not to compare him to Jesus.”
D’Antuono blamed the controversy on conservative media “trying to promote the idea that liberals believe the president to literally be our savior.”
In the aftermath of his aborted first attempt – the artist said he received more than 4,000 emails containing messages that were “anything but Christian-like.”

Titled “Truth”.
It is utter sacrilege.
Having said that, put it in a barrel of urine.
tom daschle concerned on November 27, 2012 at 6:28 PM
Of course not, because you detest Jesus. That is why you want to REPLACE Jesus.
astonerii on November 27, 2012 at 6:29 PM
Barky the Dog-Eating Retard is your idol, in the literal sense. Don’t be embarrassed to acknowledge what everyone knows. I only wish that this country would finally split so that I don’t have to be associated in any way with disgusting slime such as you.

Then why are splinters of Obama’s cross being sold at the Obama website for $49.50?
portlandon on November 27, 2012 at 6:33 PM
Does he actually believe that a representation of Obama in a crucifixion pose wearing a crown of thorns in a painting called “Truth” bears no comparison to Jesus? If so, then his head is one scary place.
Baerwulf on November 27, 2012 at 6:36 PM
Yeah,right
HotAirian on November 27, 2012 at 6:38 PM
Right, Glenn Beck had the right idea: Bobble-head Obama in a jar of pee pee.
petefrt on November 27, 2012 at 6:38 PM
Has he ever done anything offensive to any religious group besides Christians? If not then he’s a fraud and shouldn’t hide behind artistic license.

Stick with the chin up pics. Worked for mussoilini. For at least a while.

Not impressed. You want to be “avant-garde” paint Ogabe as mohammed…
Caper29 on November 27, 2012 at 6:53 PM
My biggest gripe is the artist’s ham-fisted, amateurish message.
That is all.
Ladysmith CulchaVulcha on November 27, 2012 at 6:56 PM
Oh I don’t know, printing money in the trillions out of thin air bears a certain resemblance to the loaves and the fishes. If you ignore the fact that Jesus didn’t pay the vig to the Chicoms on the loaves and fishes…

I may take a while adjusting to this new reality where a metaphor is not a comparison.
TexasDan on November 27, 2012 at 7:15 PM
He’s a terrible liar. His art reminds me of all that horrible schlock the krauts produced with Hitler.

“Christ, you know it ain’t easy
You know how hard it can be
The way things are going
They’re gonna crucify me”
-John Lennon
Not sure of the purpose, but the lyrics seemed at home on this thread.

How stupid does one have to be to utter such tripe. Lets try it this way, paint a picture of obozo as a pile of dog crap, then tell people you weren’t trying to compare him to dog crap.
Flange on November 27, 2012 at 7:28 PM
Okay, so if he’s not suppose to be Jesus, is he suggesting that he is being crucified? By who? Oh, and if you don’t want people to think he is the liberal savior, tell your buddies to stop saying he is. You might want to tell the media to ratchet back on the halo pictures to.
Cindy Munford on November 27, 2012 at 7:41 PM
I would consider that purchase if it was too expensive.

Putting blasphemy aside for the moment, when has Dear Leader suffered for his sins, much less mine?

Jamie Foxx’s mention of God got a few cheers, but their “lord & savior” Obama got a standing ovation.

What the h*ll is it with these people who do something and then just flat out lie to to your face that they didn’t do what you just saw them do? First there was that woman who flipped off the dead soldier at Arlington and then said no, i didn’t do what you just saw me do, and now we have this tool who paints Obama as Jesus on the cross and then says no, i didn’t mean to compare him to Jesus. Makes me weep for humanity.

Deserved repeating.

Willful stupidity comes to mind.
petefrt on November 27, 2012 at 8:17 PM
I had the same thought. I hope someone, better heeled than you and I, does it. I’m certain he’d give the proceeds to charity… and a good charity at that.
Heck, if he keeps drinking that water, maybe he could sell them at the Blaze store.
I watch Beck more for his commentary, not his humor. But I must say, he was funny this afternoon. His French manner was just about perfect. The last time I laughed so much with him was his do-it-yourself surgery lesson in preparation for ObamaCare.
petefrt on November 27, 2012 at 8:25 PM
I’m sure he personally knows three other people that wear a crown of thorns?
Anyway, I find his painting of this much more offensive:

You’re not fooling anyone with that sniveling non-apology you pagan scum. Just admit that you want to see your god-king crowned Ruler of All America and at least prove that you have a spine if you don’t have any brain or heart or morals.
