“What good are gay rights if your country is falling apart?”
There is no way to measure their true numbers, but gay activists say that in many cases, these “unicorns” began life as Republicans first — driven by conservative upbringings, economic issues and libertarian principles. They often did not acknowledge their sexual orientation, even to themselves, until middle age…
At 18, she registered as a Republican, and though she briefly reconsidered her party affiliation when she came out, Ms. Smith voted for Mr. Romney, albeit reluctantly. Echoing the more than a dozen women interviewed for this article, Ms. Smith said that liberal lesbians reacted more negatively to her political views than conservatives do to her sexual orientation.
“Mention that you’re Christian or mention that you’re Republican and suddenly you just get vilified,” she said. “That may be one of the reasons for the lack of visibility of gay women in the Republican Party.”
Still, she said, “What good are gay rights if your country is falling apart?”

I take people on a one on one thing. Each person is entitled to the respect for which their character demonstrates they deserve.
Actually, I have to concede that I did not tell the truth earlier. Not an intentional, I just did not think of it at the time… There was one other gay who I touched in my life. Around 5th grade. The one kid more bullied than me. He became gay later in life. He decided to gain points by attacking me one day, obviously a worthless effort. I have no idea if he was gay at the time. He had quite a few health problems. I let him win the fight, I only ever tried to win one single fight I was ever in during my school days.
A gay person who is willing to put their gay desires off to the side has much character. One who would rather allow their perversion and degenerate desires over rule what is best for society on the other hand has little and deserves much derision.
astonerii on November 26, 2012 at 1:12 PM
Yes he is happy with it, because we have a family that has unconditional love. See “unconditional” works both ways– it doesn’t just go for gay people.. gay people have to reciprocate. And Psst… I attended his civil union ceremony in Illinois, and fully support his life with his partner. Still doesn’t change my mind in forcing states to recognize gay marriage without voter approval.
/facepalm. You know that you can get all that now, and marriage IS NOT going to change how the state deals with children. Two men cannot have biological children(horrible but take it up with nature) so the state must always get involved (even if you are married) to take away third party donor rights. And
melle1228 on November 26, 2012 at 1:14 PM
Lifestyle? I thought it was sexual orientation, which no one controls. Even Dick Cheney accepts his gay daughter.
SC.Charlie on November 26, 2012 at 1:15 PM
I really have to laugh at this. Being married does not mean that you still don’t need a POA etc.
melle1228 on November 26, 2012 at 1:17 PM
What you’ll never hear is a subsect of homosexuals. Those who’ve become heterosexuals again. And have married, and have children. And they call the gay movement, heterophobic. Thats like invisible in todays world. That theres a word called heterophobic ain’t known. Lol. Homophobia and Islamophobia are well known. Lol
tommy71 on November 26, 2012 at 1:17 PM
That’s Dick Cheney’s business. One can live a celibate lifestyle regardless of their desires – they have complete control over that.
tommyboy on November 26, 2012 at 1:19 PM
And you’d go into a voter’s booth in Maine, Washington or Maryland and have voted YES to allow your gay family member to get married to his husband?
ZachV on November 26, 2012 at 1:20 PM
No I wouldn’t because I don’t think the state has any business in ANY private relationship and this includes us straights.
I think the state has done more to kill marriage then it has helped them, and if I could go back 21 years and not be married by the state I would.
melle1228 on November 26, 2012 at 1:22 PM
I want to amend what I said and say this:
If I thought this whole frickin issue would go away then I would vote yes, but I think marriage is just the start. I think that after marriage will come some other progressive agenda.
melle1228 on November 26, 2012 at 1:25 PM
It is the lifestyle that we care about. We could care less about your orientation.
If you want us to accept your lifestyle. Prove that it is valuable to society. Spend your time in a relationship the way you want. Then let that life be viewed by those who witness it. If they approve, the will tell others and convince them of the value of said relationship. Multiply that by the millions of gays out there and eventually you might win the argument through persuasion.
Instead, you would rather go the route of forcing it on other people. You have not earned it. Grow up and get out there and do so!
For the life of me, I have a feeling that it would be impossible for you to do it. For every one like you, who is in a good relationship (just accepting your story), there are 50 Sacramento gays competing for attention.
astonerii on November 26, 2012 at 1:25 PM
As Ronald Reagan would say, “There you you go again”. It is pointless to discuss the issue with you. Your beliefs are your beliefs. You make it plain to everyone that you think that homosexuals deserve to be bullied into submission.
SC.Charlie on November 26, 2012 at 1:27 PM
I think the same of every perversion and degenerate activity.
History as a guide says that societies as you would like them to be just simply cannot prosper. You do not care if you leave a worse world to others. Why would you, what are you leaving behind as a fudge packing perverted sexual deviant? Nothing.
astonerii on November 26, 2012 at 1:30 PM
Well, you had me about 20 seconds away from saying that I was wrong and a horrible person — and sending you a fruit basket.
I guess acceptance and support of my family and friends is something I should be utterly thankful for, because fellow humans in my situation will just never receive it from their family members.
ZachV on November 26, 2012 at 1:30 PM
But most homosexuals don’t need assistance. They are quite successful.
Gelsomina on November 26, 2012 at 1:32 PM
Tell that to Dick Cheney. I don’t think that he would agree.
SC.Charlie on November 26, 2012 at 1:32 PM
Well, you had me about 20 seconds away from saying that I was wrong and a horrible person — and sending you a fruit basket.I am a shit person, and you have every right to hit me with a car if we ever cross paths. Would you like a fruit basket?
ZachV on November 26, 2012 at 1:32 PM
LOL.
“Prove you love me by giving me everything I want RIGHT NOW!”
You’re a hostage-taker. You don’t care about your family and parents; you only love them if they do exactly what you say and agree with them on everything.
People should realize that. Gays like you don’t love anyone unless they are your slave and give you everything you want. You don’t care about THEM; you only care about what you can get from them.
Selfish and narcissistic. No wonder gays and lesbians like you are adherents of the Obama Party and liberalism.
northdallasthirty on November 26, 2012 at 1:33 PM
But you think that male homosexuals are the lowest scum of the earth. BTW, anal intercourse between married couples is, I suppose acceptable, to yourself? Your hatred is obvious.
SC.Charlie on November 26, 2012 at 1:37 PM
And people wonder why other people don’t support gay rights. I mean equating people who have difference on the definition of marriage means I want to kill you– who knew?
Thank you.. and I just want to tell you I love your posts. I mean I shouldn’t because you are gay and Zach and Charlie say I have gheys.. ///
melle1228 on November 26, 2012 at 1:38 PM
*have gheys = hate gays
melle1228 on November 26, 2012 at 1:39 PM
LOL.
What you define as “acceptance and support” the rest of us define as “infantile slavery”.
You really are nothing more than a spoiled brat. You screamed and screamed and berated your family and told them you hated them and that they were bigots unless they gave you exactly what you wanted.
If you truly loved your parents and family, you would love them regardless of what they think or do. That’s why it’s called “unconditional love”.
But you don’t. You’ve already demonstrated the mentality of the good gay Nazi, which is that family members who don’t worship your mentality and obey should be informed upon and executed.
Melle1228′s instinct is correct. This is not about gay-sex marriage. It is about you and yours trying to insist that your sexual orientation be allowed to force other people to do your bidding. It is nothing more than a power play, pure racist fascism on your part.
northdallasthirty on November 26, 2012 at 1:39 PM
LOL
Uh huh, as an identity group they have the single highest use of medicaid, ssdi, food stamps. 3 times the general population.
astonerii on November 26, 2012 at 1:40 PM
I did not vote for Obama and many other gays did not vote for him.
SC.Charlie on November 26, 2012 at 1:40 PM
As is your unwillingness to accept reality.
Reality is that opposite-sex couples produce better results for society. We don’t have the unlimited resources to pay for worse just because worse feels bad. Grow up and get over it.
northdallasthirty on November 26, 2012 at 1:43 PM
Yeah but overwhelmingly gays did. And they are just useful idiots in the same way that minorities and single women are.
melle1228 on November 26, 2012 at 1:43 PM
I’m old enough to remember when gay activists (and trust, me, I knew quite a few back in the day) didn’t want to have anything to do with marriage, they thought that was for the “breeders” and gay people should invent their own kinds of relationships, with one or multiple partners and certainly with no kids. They weren’t interested in being “approved of” by mainstream society at all, or living in the suburbs, or anything else typical of straight society. They were proud of being different and being their own tribe with their own rules, or no rules. It’s hard to fathom what has changed in such a short time. Maybe it was AIDS that scared them all into thinking they had to act like straight people.
Gay people used to be so much fun to hang out with. They were the only real daring nonconformists in a cookie-cutter society. Now gays are just boring scolds, like the ones in this thread.
rockmom on November 26, 2012 at 1:45 PM
Honestly that is one of the reason that the movement scares me. They can’t just be real about societal concerns. The truth is that children do better in a functional two parent two sex home. And the fact that that is disputed by gay groups is idiotic and makes the whole movement suspect.
melle1228 on November 26, 2012 at 1:45 PM
This is the game the gay left plays. Children like ZachV scream at their parents and family and say that they’ll commit suicide unless they give ZachV exactly what he wants. They exploit the fact that conservatives are staunchly pro-life and don’t want people to kill themselves to take hostages.
It’s a sick game, and it shows how ZachV and his ilk are sick and desperate people. They use murder and suicide as threats to get what they want. They are actually GLAD to see gay kids kill themselves, and in fact they encourage and support it.
northdallasthirty on November 26, 2012 at 1:49 PM
If you are going to make such an statement back it up with a credible link. And, if it is true, you might ask yourself why? Since you were so horribly bullied in your youth. How would you feel if you had to hide your sexual orientation from every employer from whom you sought a job? The assumption is that every gay male is sexually active and irresponsible.
SC.Charlie on November 26, 2012 at 1:49 PM
No, pedophiles outrank you. Then again, gay males make up the vast majority of pedophiles. Many studies indicate most gay males became gay due to a pedophile relationship with a gay pedophile.
Gay relationships do not create a future. You leave nothing to the future. A detriment to society on almost every level.
astonerii on November 26, 2012 at 1:51 PM
And, I thought that this thread had hit bottom …………. northdallasthirty hits rock bottom. I am sure someone can at least try.
SC.Charlie on November 26, 2012 at 1:55 PM
Not at all.
In fact, the HIV rate is going UP right now — the United States, in fact, is running at roughly double the rate for sub-Saharan Africa.
And if you want to see something really entertaining, go google for Dan Savage screaming that monogamy is “hurtful” and that opposite-sex couples should become more promiscuous and sleep with people outside their relationships like gays do.
It’s a proxy war. The point is to attack and bury religion and religious beliefs and destroy conservativism. That’s all it is. They would never get any traction if they admitted that they want religious beliefs banned, that they want people punished for expressing their religious beliefs, and that they want anyone who criticizes gay and lesbian people in any way to be destroyed. That’s why they blather on about “love” and whatnot; it’s cloaking an undercurrent of outright hate and bigotry.
northdallasthirty on November 26, 2012 at 1:57 PM
Really and I thought it had hit rock bottom when Zach gave me permission to run him over with his car. Just shows how bias you are though.
melle1228 on November 26, 2012 at 1:59 PM
No, no. melle has said that she would haved voted ‘yes’ under certain conditions. That’s a good thing, which saves the thread. I’m happy. And I’m sure her gay family member would be happy too, if he read that.
As for northdallasthirty – he’s had his own struggles in life. You can do nothing except hope that it’ll get better for him.
ZachV on November 26, 2012 at 1:59 PM
No. Mine’s a really nice red, Ford Focus. You have my permission to run over me with another car. Mine’s fine without the dents.
ZachV on November 26, 2012 at 2:01 PM
Again, provide a “credible” link to your statement. Your bias and hatred shine.
SC.Charlie on November 26, 2012 at 2:02 PM
Yeah the condition is that every gay in this country has to sign a contract saying that marriage “equality” will be the end of their mission – and that they will live and let live businesses that don’t want to do business with them, religious institutions and parents..
And since I don’t see that happening..
melle1228 on November 26, 2012 at 2:03 PM
Gee, I wonder why.
And there’s more:
Perhaps if you and your bigot friends like ZachV spent as much time screaming at promiscuous and irresponsible gay people as you do Christians and conservatives, you might have some credibility in this, SC Charlie.
And that leads us to this:
Yup. I pointed out how the gay community really “cares” about teenagers — it praises their suicides and supports and endorses getting them sick at a rate TWICE that of sub-Saharan Africa.
Your caring is lethal.
northdallasthirty on November 26, 2012 at 2:04 PM
No I have already run over my quota for gays this month.. You are safe..//
Do you really not get how ridiculous you sounded?
melle1228 on November 26, 2012 at 2:04 PM
LOL. The funny part is how quickly the gay bigots start insisting that any person who disagrees with them is in some way damaged.
But that’s typical. They’re mentally incapable of thinking past their sexual orientation or accepting that someone else could be right and them wrong. They’ve been brainwashed since joining the LGBT community that LGBTs are always right about everything and that anyone who criticizes with or disagrees with an LGBT person is a homophobe.
That’s why they’re so easily manipulated by the Obama Party.
northdallasthirty on November 26, 2012 at 2:08 PM
Why limit people to my own research, when they can happily verify and learn on their own…
astonerii on November 26, 2012 at 2:15 PM
Again, I did not vote for Obama. And, I don’t deny that AIDS is a problem in the gay community.
http://www.cdc.gov/hiv/topics/surveillance/resources/factsheets/us_overview.htm
Today people in this country because of advances in treating AIDS live long lives. Hepatitas C is becoming a greater problem than AIDS.

SC.Charlie on November 26, 2012 at 2:21 PM
This is why I did not want to link my things, because it is an incomplete accounting.
The reality is that gay relationships represent an infinitely increased cost on society. As their social benefits are always paid 100% by other people’s children. So any use of those services is a benefit for which they abstained from paying.
All social spending in this nation is on an as you go basis plus deficit spending where the burden is fully on the next generation which you refuse to procreate.
astonerii on November 26, 2012 at 2:35 PM
And, gays that die off early and quick don’t grow old and go off to nursing homes to die from dementia.
Last year in Japan they sold more adult diapers than diapers for children. The same thing is going to happen to China when their one child per family law hits the fan.
http://www.businessweek.com/articles/2012-11-23/japanese-stocks-yes-they-really-think-so
SC.Charlie on November 26, 2012 at 2:45 PM
Aren’t you the same person who said…
I did the calculations. Medicare takes care of 53% of aids patients. Gay men account for over half of all aids patients. Represent 2% of the population. They are 25 times as likely to be siphoning money from other people’s pockets, while at the same time not putting thing out there to pay for it.
While medicare cares for 53% of aids patients, medicare spends more on aids for different patients than those on medicaid. Not sure what the discrepancy is, Medicaid has lower payout rates I am guessing.
Gay males at the least = moocher class. I do not personally care about your private personal contributions to society. I look on the WHOLE for this argument.
astonerii on November 26, 2012 at 2:56 PM
Damn Skippy. Japan is about to make matters worse. They are tapping there women for work to a much larger extent than they did previously.
You really do not see the irony of pushing for gay marriage and the above two items you discuss on the self destruction of nations?
astonerii on November 26, 2012 at 2:59 PM
By the way. Congratulations on having a fulfilling relationship. Out of your peers, you are an exemplar.
astonerii on November 26, 2012 at 3:01 PM
You haven’t seen anything, yet. Wait until the Chinese have to take care of their aging population. Along with that curse, they have an over abundance of males, since female children have been aborted in the womb. The Muslim World can only be called an insane asylum for religious fanatics ………… and hatred of modernity. And, you worry about same-sex marriage in the United States?
SC.Charlie on November 26, 2012 at 4:24 PM
I know. I plan to leave behind children, and I care about the future of the United States of America.
You plan to take everything with you when you go, as such, you could care less about the Future of the United States of America, just so long as it lasts long enough for you to go in luxury.
astonerii on November 26, 2012 at 4:42 PM
OMG, there is a 1 in 3,000,000,000,000 chance that in the next ten years an unknown asteroid may come out of know where and destroy vast swaths of life on Earth, either completely wiping out mankind, or at the very least setting him back thousands of years, and you are worried about whether you can marry your same sex butt buddy?
