Well no duh. People literally think you can get something from nothing short of divine intervention and that money comes from the government printing press.

Talked with a foreign exchange student who ran into this brand of American foolishness just this evening. He was almost speechless at the idiocy, and I didn’t think I needed to tell him how widespread it is.

Every liberal friend/colleague/relative I have – all of them – believe that we can just raise taxes on the rich and end “Bush’s wars” and the debt problem will disappear.

All of them.

They think it’s all because of Bush.

Of course, by raising taxes they don’t just mean the Bush cuts from 36 to 39. They want the 90% of the “good old” days.
