Jeb Bush meets with former aides near the White House
Former Florida governor Jeb Bush met Monday with a group of his former staffers at the J. W. Marriott hotel on Pennsylvania Avenue, just steps from the White House. Bush, a potential 2016 presidential contender, spent an hour in the hotel’s Cannon room, reminiscing and entertaining questions about his political future.
In an interview with NRO, Bush did not rule out a presidential run. “I am here to catch up with folks and promote education reform,” he said, smiling.
When asked again whether he will issue a Sherman-type statement about his future, Bush remained coy. “We have an alumni group that I like keeping in touch with,” he said. “I’m here to focus on educational reform, and that’s what I’m going to tell people.”

It’s going to be fun watching Jeb lose the Hispanic vote 30/70 to Hilary.

Unfarkingbelievable
The GOP is dead. Best just to admit it now and move on to something better.

I’ve thought about this a lot over the last two minutes and Jebbie is our last hope to save the republic.
arnold ziffel on November 27, 2012 at 12:11 AM
Like a shark, the Bushies smell the blood of the GOP carcass. Yeah, they’e probably thinking of playing saviour and want to resurrect compassionate and neo conservatism. This won’t end well.
tommy71 on November 27, 2012 at 12:14 AM
No more Bushs, Clintons, Kennedys or Obamas.
This is not a dynasty.
Schadenfreude on November 27, 2012 at 12:17 AM
He can run…..but he’s not getting the nomination.
terryannonline on November 27, 2012 at 12:20 AM
The GOP is part of the problem, not part of the solution, and people need to face that.
sharrukin on November 27, 2012 at 12:21 AM
Umm.. He’s a Bush. Yes he will. Also, if Bush runs, then no Marco Rubio will be running.

“Electable”
Here comes the drumbeat.

He’s just dating D.C., but I hear the band in the distance practicing “Here Comes The Bride”.

Noooooo! No more RINOs. That means no Jeb, Rubio, or Christie. Dem Lite moderates are bound to lose. When a conservative runs, they always win. Palin/Paul 2016.
sauldalinsky on November 27, 2012 at 12:28 AM
I don’t care about RINOs. I don’t want someone named Jeb Bush running for President because Bushes cannot win.
Illinidiva on November 27, 2012 at 12:30 AM
I can almost imagine Karl Rove (with a smirk) tell the unwashed GOP masses : You’re gonna vote for Bush again, and you’re gonna like it.

It’s his turn.

The GOP is fairly predictable. It’s between Santorum or Huckster if they keep the habit going.
lexhamfox on November 27, 2012 at 1:00 AM
If he enters, he’ll win the nomination, and probably the Presidency too. The Bush machinery and GOP backers of the Bush clan are intact. They’ll win allright. Its what he does after he wins that is the problem. Probably renew the destruction of the GOP brand. And no, Hilary won’t run in 2016. The dems have changed too. They won’t be happy with an old, white woman. It’ll be Andrew Cuomo.

Yep we is gonna kick some dem ass in 2016. Can’t wait. not

Valkyriepundit on November 27, 2012 at 1:25 AM
^This. Rubio will do what Jebbie tells him to do.
Rubio should be a non-starter anyways. He’s a first-term Senator with no executive experience or legislative accomplishments and whose appeal is based on his ethnicity and a couple of well-received speeches. Sound familiar?

NO. NO. NO. NO. NO.
If we do not have a true conservative ticket in 2016 it is the absolute end of the Republican Party. Goodbye. No more. I have resisted the calls over the last two elections for a third party because it would split the vote and ensure the Democrats win, but when our party stabs us in the back and behaves like Quislings, then even I can see the writing on the wall.
NO.
Rixon on November 27, 2012 at 7:27 AM
Rubio also served in the FL legislature; IIRC he was senate majority leader.
“Executive experience” didn’t do very well this past election. In 2016, we need someone with executive experience in reducing the size of government, and balancing the budget. There may be some GOP governors (not the fat Springsteen fan) who could fit the bill.
But no more Bushes.
Wethal on November 27, 2012 at 7:51 AM
The story of 2016 has so many chapter to be written.
Let him do what he wants to do – it’s only his chapter.
