Jailed Mohammed filmmaker: No apologies
In his first public comments since his incarceration soon after the video gained international attention in September, Mr. Nakoula told The New York Times that he would go to great lengths to convey what he called “the actual truth” about Muhammad. “I thought, before I wrote this script,” he said, “that I should burn myself in a public square to let the American people and the people of the world know this message that I believe in.”…
A few years ago, Mr. Nakoula told some of the crew members he had gathered, supposedly to make “Desert Warriors,” that the project would have to be put off. He had cancer. Treatment was needed, far away, and they would not be able to reach him. His family shared a similar story with church officials…
But Mr. Nakoula, who described himself to some cast members as the writer and producer, explained to a confidant that his plan was to fool actors into thinking they were making a movie built around an ancient tribal villain named George, dubbing in the name “Muhammad” later whenever anybody said “George.”

Hillary Clinton’s political prisoner.
Has Amnesty International weighed in on this yet?

Sorry Buddy. The emperor needed a scapegoat.

Yes, does he regret having doubleplusungood thoughts about Islam? After all, a wise man said, the future must not belong to those who insult the prophet of Islam.

Apologize for what?
Naturally Curly on November 26, 2012 at 9:28 AM
Understatement of the year. The video comes to light just as the muslim countries are pushing for an anti-blasphemy treaty, which would gut the First Amendment. And it gets to be blamed for an assault which killed a US ambassador. How convenient. It’s almost as if someone set him up to make this movie.
rbj on November 26, 2012 at 9:29 AM
I say thanks for exposing how the left has no hesitation in jettisoning our First Amend. when it suits them.
Blake on November 26, 2012 at 9:30 AM
Oh, and thanks for exposing how dangerous the muslim world continues to be and now with the complicity of our Donk government.
Blake on November 26, 2012 at 9:32 AM
It should be noted for posterity that no Democrats criticized Obama for having a guy thrown into jail for mocking a 6th century religious figure and then publicly declaring that the future does not belong to those who mock 6th century religious figures.
If they decide some day that they oppose what Obama did, they will do so en masse, in lockstep, and they will claim they were always opposed to it.
Buddahpundit on November 26, 2012 at 9:32 AM
No, the Obama administration NEEDED this as an excuse , therefor floated it out there so they could use it for a reason on why only a few Americans got killed by a “protest”.
You know people, I do not have any kind of beliefs when it comes to religion … though I do think there can be something after death…what I mean is, I do never wish ill on people usually. I leave that for the worst of em. Let me tell you, the top dogs in this administration has gotten very close to that line.
watertown on November 26, 2012 at 9:33 AM
Why would the savages (I mean the Obooba administration) be all up in arms about a trailer for a non-existent film when they haven’t mentioned any numbers of books, films, web sites etc that eviscerate Islam?
It’s like the other show hasn’t dropped.
Akzed on November 26, 2012 at 9:38 AM
I think it will soon dawn on these groups like the ACLU and Amnesty International: “OMG, we got to pretend to oppose this or we will have no credibility at all from now on”.
Keep an eye out for that.

Public comments = more jail time

Deadly protests across the Islamic world are a lot like rocket fire from Gaza–never ceasing.
steebo77 on November 26, 2012 at 9:42 AM
To hell with violent Islamists. I do not respect their religion, I do not respect their hateful, barbaric culture, and I believe we should all be able to criticize their beliefs and actions whenever we want. Having said that, of course I know there are many honorable, fine Muslims.

Eh, I have seen the movie. It is a really silly and completely over the top. Although I really love:

BigGator5 on November 26, 2012 at 9:43 AM
I guess because they chose to go after this youtube thing. If they had chosen to go after someone else, then Obama would have thrown that person in jail.
It is possible that the youtube guy is a designed and willing player in a scheme cooked up by Obama along with his Arab League buddies. That doesn’t make it better as far as Obama’s attack on free speech and threats on behalf of jihad, though.
Buddahpundit on November 26, 2012 at 9:49 AM
Didn’t realize they had any to begin with.

Not even to the actors he defrauded?

I found the Innocence of Muslims trailer to be extremely funny, biting and true to the word and traditions of the koran and islam. The movie looked to be hysterical and an excellent piece of work. The idiots (even those fools on the right who cow-tow to Barky’s position) who claim that this film was poorly-made, amateurish, or offensive have probably not seen it, or worse, probably don’t understand that it is, by and large, true to the accdepted story of mohammed and the political ideology he founded. I hear lots of these idiots talk about cheap production and the like but the sets and effects for this film were no different from those used on SNL, which people seem to take seriously – for whatever reason.
Innocence of Muslims is worth a watch. It’s funny, accurate and biting commentary on the aggressive, violent, primitive, universally expansionist political ideology that is islam.
ThePrimordialOrderedPair on November 26, 2012 at 10:38 AM
The movie was hardly controversial. The historical Mohammed was a blood thirsty pedofile, a warlord, and the text of the Koran does indeed bear a striking resemblance to a lot of the Old Testament.
Whether he enjoyed having sex with men and animals we’re not sure of but that movie about Jesus getting it on with Mary Magdalen was also speculative.
CorporatePiggy on November 26, 2012 at 10:40 AM
Hardly. That has to be one of the dumbest statements I’ve ever seen. The parts of the Old Testament that the koran plagiarized it perverted and turned on their heads. Get a brain.
ThePrimordialOrderedPair on November 26, 2012 at 10:47 AM
OK, well that clearly went right over your head.
CorporatePiggy on November 26, 2012 at 10:55 AM
At this point would any of them even WANT payment for it?
I mean, if I had been an actor in that shoddily made, playground-insult level excuse for a film (which it is despite the gibberings of the likes of people who think South Park is comparable to Shakespheare), I would want to be compensated if nothing else than for degrading myself by appearing in it.
But after the film has attracted worldwide attention and the wrath of a major religion? Lets all drop the Internet bravery, folks, would you really want to be associated with it and its maker?
MelonCollie on November 26, 2012 at 11:01 AM
Seeing as how he’d make Napoleon look tall, that’s not too hard.
MelonCollie on November 26, 2012 at 11:03 AM
…cuz “George” was such a common name back in the ancient tribal days. What?
But seriously, I really don’t know what to make of this guy – on the one hand, he has his beliefs and isn’t backing down from them no matter what pressure is put on him, which is good, I suppose. On the other, “methamphetamine ingredient supplier and convicted con man” is not usually the kind of person I like to throw my support behind.
AndStatistics on November 26, 2012 at 12:08 PM
Good for him. His movie sucked, but his manhood is in tact.
Warner Todd Huston on November 26, 2012 at 12:23 PM
George was apparently Mohammad Rasoel‘s middle name, like Hussein is Barack Obama‘s.
The future must not belong to those who insult George!
