Prince Charles: Mankind must go green or die
In a pre-recorded speech broadcast in acceptance of an lifetime environmental achievement award, the Prince said green views that had once seen him written off as a “crank” were now backed by hard evidence.
He told the gala ceremony for the 7th International Green Awards at Battersea Power Station in London that fossil fuels and supplies of fresh water were under pressure while the stability of weather patterns was threatened and “vast amounts of CO2” were still pumped into the atmosphere. “Humanity and the Earth will soon begin to suffer some very grim consequences,” he said.
“It’s therefore an act of suicide on a grand scale to ride so roughshod over those checks and balances and flout nature’s necessary limits as blatantly as we do.

Could you imagine the offspring if him and Camilla had bred? Nah, not pretty.

This is the man whom the inbred family disinherited for being stupid.

Elena Kagan? Tim Carney? George Stuffinenvelopes?

He might live to a ripe old age but his mind went years ago.

And hundreds of millions of dollars to protect themselves from any negative consequences for their actions.
astonerii on November 24, 2012 at 9:08 PM
Exactly. Do you really think my grandpa or yours or anyone else’s on HA could do the same?
MelonCollie on November 24, 2012 at 9:09 PM
I prefer the second alternative, especially if going green means he gets to instruct the rest of us.

I’d at least give Romney credit for willingness and expenditure to take a crappy job at a massive pay cut during his retirement years to try and deflect the Chicago River (once also known as Garlic(k) Creek) back towards the treatment plants.

My grandpa no, he was a great man, but had no desire to strike it rich.
astonerii on November 24, 2012 at 9:17 PM
I give him credit. I think he is an outstanding citizen and he did many great things, as a human, he is prone to make mistakes in his life like all of us. I just think he was on the wrong team. He would have been shooting at our home side basket too often. There were other people out there with conservative back grounds and plans. Romney would make an AWESOME president as a DEMOCRAT. Nothing wrong with that, especially if he would have gotten rid of terrible president as anything Obama. Just imagine Romney running as an independent, free to be himself instead of having to tailor a tiny bit to the Republicans. He could have siphoned off many Obama voters and only a few of the Republican’s.

Maybe Charles’ royal lifestyle — and that of Camilla’s — needs to be downgraded, severely, to reduce their carbon footprints?
I think one modest house in the countryside with one prius, no guards, a “royal consumption tax”, and rationed electricity would be a good start for Charles.

Stop and think about this.
This guy is a “Prince.” He eats better than 99% of the world could ever hope to. How many people does it take to just serve this guy breakfast? How much does it cost the earth to just heat his Palace? How many pairs of shoes do you think are in his closet? How much of a carbon footprint does he make just taking a vacation compared to the rest of us? He’s probably jetted to more nations on vacation then some of us have visited states. And yet there he is, self righteously telling all of us we need to do with less. And he gets an award for what? Talking?

In other words he’s following in Al Gore’s footsteps.
There’s a “planetary emergency” whenever his cash flow starts to slow down.

But enough about the Obamas
davidk on November 24, 2012 at 9:33 PM
Even though Romney was well down my, being a Conservative, list of choices during the primaries the fact that he has run businesses successfully, earned real actual grades, likely could pick Supreme Court justices that weren’t activist freaks of nature disdainful of the Constitution, and could evict the red-handed scoundrel currently running Just-Us department would have been enough for me to deal with four years of him.
Boner and McConnell claim to support to the Right yet surrender so hastily they may as well be DNC, too.

No you are way too nice. Most of England does not get bitter cold and she could cook over a wood stove. Obviously those two fkrs have too much time on their hands. They need to try farm living—-old style.
arnold ziffel on November 24, 2012 at 9:38 PM
I hijacked the thread. I suck…
I voted for Romney. I agree, better than Obama. Obama and the DHS scare me.
That said. Romney was not and is not conservative.
I was mostly trying originally to make a point out there about Malthusians. They are detestable human beings who think only them and a handful of people like them and some servants for themselves are that the Earth should be expected to support, and that our candidate actually found advice from someone like Prince Charles valuable.

Mankind: “You first, Charles.”
The Resolute Desk on November 24, 2012 at 11:33 PM
Bite me Charles… until you and your Royal family start living in 2,000 square foot homes, with no more than two cars – I’m not listening.
If it’s sooooo critical – lead by example and live like a commoner.
Freaking jackwad.
Hill60 on November 24, 2012 at 11:56 PM
Dudes just trying to get a date with Al Gore. They’d make a lovely couple.
tommy71 on November 25, 2012 at 12:11 AM
You’ve been arguing with most of us for the last two weeks AGAINST these two points. You called me a progressive for SAYING THE EXACT SAME THING
And now you come out and admit it.
Yes, you do suck.
kim roy on November 25, 2012 at 1:20 AM
I never called you a progressive because you said Romney was better than Obama. It would be for any number of other reasons…
astonerii on November 25, 2012 at 11:16 AM
he’s a big hypocrite just like Al Gore and Lenonardo Decaprio are too..they all fly around in their jets, ‘polluting’ this country wwayyyyy more than the average citizen does..Green energy for thee but not for me is their motto… I have one kinda green dress shirt that i wear and that’s as far green as i will go..also i’m drinking some Mt. Dew Right now..I’m going green right now!
