This GOP criticism of Susan Rice certainly does look racist
The oddity of the Republican response to what happened in Benghazi is partly this focus on half-baked conspiracy theories rather than on the real evidence of failures by the State Department, Pentagon and CIA in protecting the Benghazi mission. What’s even stranger is the singling out of Ms. Rice, a Rhodes scholar and seasoned policymaker who, whatever her failings, is no one’s fool.
Could it be, as members of the Congressional Black Caucus are charging, that the signatories of the letter are targeting Ms. Rice because she is an African American woman? The signatories deny that, and we can’t know their hearts. What we do know is that more than 80 of the signatories are white males, and nearly half are from states of the former Confederacy. You’d think that before launching their broadside, members of Congress would have taken care not to propagate any falsehoods of their own.

WaPo, take your race card and shove it.
petefrt on November 23, 2012 at 1:53 PM
To expect this little of the first half black president, and this stupid cow, with deep apologies to all cows, white, black, spotted, red, is the ultimate form of racism.
MLK died for nothing.

Yes, she is a fool. She is Obama’s fool who went out and deliberately lied, over and over again, for political expediency. What next, WaPo? Pee on me and tell me it’s raining?
John the Libertarian on November 23, 2012 at 1:55 PM
Defending Rice (a well documented liar) based solely on her race (whatever her race is) is racism in its truest form.
Pork-Chop on November 23, 2012 at 1:55 PM
Um how?
thebrokenrattle on November 23, 2012 at 1:56 PM
Well, we KNOW the GOP would NEVER support a black woman for Secretary of State – cough – Condi Rice – cough.
It seems the left is doubling down on playing the race card since the election. I guess they feel that if it worked to get Obama reelected, then they can use it all the time. Just lovely.

She’s an idiot and a transparent liar who isn’t even qualified to be postmaster general, let alone anything with real responsibilities. Of course, the same can be said for just about everyone else in the affirmative action junta, led by a guy who is about as stupid as they come – with the mathematical sophistication of a slow 8th grader and the English skills of a 14 year old, if that (even 14 year old Americans know that there is no such phrase as “all wee wee’d up”). But, of course it’s “raaaaacist” to point out how sub-par the affirmative action recipients are. LOL.
Even Shrillary is too stupid to be able to correctly translate one simple word into a language that we have had to eavesdrop in and correctly decode and translate from for more than half a century, for a very public (though ridiculously childish and stupid) diplomatic entree with the only nation that can actually physically annihilate us. In a snae society, such an incompetent idiot would have been put out to pasture immediately, never to be heard from again … but not in the American Socialist Superstate. Nope.
This society is headed full-speed to self-annihiliation by affirmative action and the idolozation of imbeciles and incompetents.

What kind of a person goes on national television five times in one day to lie for King Obama?
I would call that a fool.
JPeterman on November 23, 2012 at 2:06 PM
None of her qualification exempt her from being a lackey and a liar.
When was the last time WaPo actually listened to BO?
No, what we have here is the so-called Free Press determined to squelch Free Speech for merely criticizing a public figure. Whip out the race card again and again and again.
It is, in fact, the MSM that are the racists.

The GOP should double down on the criticism of her (and the entire administration)…EFF the over-played race card.

In the new America, you’ll be lied to by minorities, and you’d better like it.

Why don’t we just do away with the “code words” and go about calling them what they are, “no account, lazy, shiftless weasels without a lick of common sense and only enough motivation to get up off their ass when there is a free handout or cash involved.” If only we could come up with a shorter version of that?
rgranger on November 23, 2012 at 2:29 PM
Ding Ding Ding!!! That’s exactly the charge that should be leveled squarely and loudly in their duplicitous, racist faces. It’s time to call it as it is. These people hate white people and are specifically intent on destroying white America. I resisted this notion for a long, long time, but as the evidence mounts I can’t come to any other conclusion.
The left’s hatred for white people is real, it’s palpable, and is an existential threat to this republic and to personal liberty in particular. Like the muslims who have been at war with us for a long time, and nobody had the courage to recognize it, so is the race war. It’s time to recognize it for what it is, and fight fire with fire. Turn Alinsky back on them.
Harbingeing on November 23, 2012 at 2:33 PM
What’s even stranger than that is the Washington Post singling out race as the motivating factor in the criticism of a potential Secretary of State from a party that has already demonstrated its bona fides by actually appointing two black Secretaries of State, one of them female.
The Republican Party should demand a retraction from the Post,
and keep pounding on this until it is made. Every Republican appearing in any media should begin by stating that this disgraceful accusation by the Post is proof that the media is totally biased and corrupt.
A line must be drawn. If we don’t draw it here, we are complicit in allowing it to become legitimized. Say enough is enough and do it!
drunyan8315 on November 23, 2012 at 2:42 PM
Isn’t that who Sen. Robert Byrd was referring to, with his comment about knowing many “white n*****s”? The term as it’s used nowadays refers more to a person’s state of mind than to pigment – ask any of the thousands of rappers who routinely use it in their form of “performance art”. (ahem, it certainly isn’t ‘music’ as I, a regularly performing musician understand the now co-opted term, but that’s beside the point)
Harbingeing on November 23, 2012 at 2:44 PM
But this “criticism” of another woman named Rice wasn’t racist?
Stu Gotts on November 23, 2012 at 2:45 PM
As Dick Cheney might say, GFY.
This is Obama’s America, where it’s not only OK, but suggested, and encouraged, to point out race as a motivating factor in any public dispute. Divide and conquer. This is what Obama wanted, this is what he did, this is what he created, this is what he got. It’s the Iraqi Sunnis v the Shiites, it’s the Egyptian Muslims v the Coptic Christians, it’s low, it’s base, it’s stupid, it’s harmful.
The CBC (Congressional Bawk Caucus) ladies went to the lectern to bray and moo about unfairness towards black women. We can expect to hear a lot more of such talk in the next 4 years. The era of Obama: “My group is the squeakiest wheel, we deserve the most grease. And if you don’t agree with us, you’re a hateful bigot”. The Obama-approved tactic of any minority group. Except for white males! If Obama had a son, he wouldn’t look like me. And if the police arrested me, they wouldn’t have acted stupidly. And if I’m ever afraid of someone who’s black, then I’m a bigot, just like Obama’s grandma.
Paul-Cincy on November 23, 2012 at 2:54 PM
I was actually being completely sarcastic but you damn well there are people in the media and in this administration who heard the name “Tyrone Woods” and were saddened it was’t a black guy they could memorialize.

Eunuchs!
davidk on November 23, 2012 at 2:58 PM
This is the problem. GOP will never sound rational as long as voices like this twerp’s strike the loudest tone.
To say that Martin Luther King Jr died for nothing is an insult to most Americans who despise the horrors of Jim Crow and segregation.
What you’re saying is that because of a political divide you believe that Blacks would be better off without equal protection under our laws.
What you’re saying is what racists have said for years. But I know you don’t think you’re a racist. I don’t think anybody in this thread believes you’re a racist.
You don’t have to be a racist to be foolish.

I did pick up slightly on the sarc, but this is the nasty, vicious racist game THEY play against us, and it’s time to turn it around on them.
When even the slightest criticism of a non-white public employee is purposefully blasted around the media as a racially-motivated attack by white, racist haters, the lie gets repeated until it is perceived as truth, especially by the low-info demographic.
That’s the only way we can defeat them now – use the same ugly tactic against them. It’s a war they have already declared and have been waging against us for a long time. Just nobody on our side has had the stones to recognize it and fight back. Problem is, we hate lies – they revere lies and the liars who make the biggest ones stick. In fact, that’s the librul’s most revered street cred- how big a lie they have been able to propagate in the media and make it stick.
Harbingeing on November 23, 2012 at 3:24 PM
And you think things are different now? A prison is still a prison whether it be in a shack or in a mansion. It’s just cleaner and prettier.
You think MLK would love to see blacks living on the largesse of the state, multigenerational welfare, not working, this “(c)rap music” where it glorifies sexual whoredom and drugs, children who are somewhat lucky to have one parent around never mind two and so on so forth.
It may not be living in the South worrying about the rope, but it’s still slavery. This time the plantation is owned by the government.
MLK would indeed be rolling in his grave as at least with Jim Crow people were able to think and know they were being slaves. Now they’re just neutered and docile.
kim roy on November 23, 2012 at 3:28 PM
Enough with the moronic “outrage”. I don’t know what your problem is, but it’s annoying as all get-out. If there are words used liberally throughout the popular culture that you don’t like then take it up with the idiots who had to revive those words (that were basically killed off) and forced them back into popular use. I’m really sick and tired of people who try to deflect blame like you are doing. Denzel Washington gets an Oscar for a role in which he used that “dreaded word” every ten seconds so give me a friggin break on your outrageous outrage. Frankly, it’s pathetic.
If you can’t be consistent then you ought to be quiet – well, if you had any integrity you would be. But, maybe you’ll call me a racist for requiring consistency. That seems to be your M.O.

What Schad said is true. “I have a dream of when a man is judged on the content of his character, rather than the color of his skin.”-MLK
The exact opposite of what MLK said is the operating principle on the left now. The ONLY thing that matters to Obama’s Left is the color of one’s skin. MLK did indeed die for nothing.

Typical childlike lib argument. Funny that WaPoo isn’t concerned about lack of security, stand down and why Rice was given inaccurate talking points.
As far as Rhodes scholar why does that matter? I’m supposed to avert my gaze and believe anything the “scholar” craps out?
arnold ziffel on November 23, 2012 at 3:36 PM
Turn Alinsky around on them:
Rice and Obama didn’t care one bit about the 4 white guys being slaughtered in Benghazi at all, and after hearing their desperate pleas for help, willfully decided to order the military to stand down and let them all die horrible, grisly deaths. They were only white males afterall, and Obama’s ‘fundamental transformation‘ of America is all about evening the score with “white America”. These 4 dead white guys are just a step in the right direction for Obama’s New Transformed AmeriKa.
/see how easy that was?

Just who the hell was SOS before Hillary? Two…that’s right TWO black SOS under a Republican administration and both appointed during Republican control of Congress.
Anyone remember the treatment of Dr. Condileeza Rice by the left wing bigots and their lap dog media?
This should be like shooting fish in a barrel. WTF?!

The simple fact is, the GOP cannot possibly win a battle of identity politics with the left.
They invented the game, made the rules, and can cheat at will without consequence.
The only way to win, is to not play their game.

I agree, to a point. I can chew gum and walk and the same time, though, and this is just so nonsensical.
I believe we should double down on Susan Rice and go for the jugular. At the same time, the so-called “moderates” and “independents”, who are nothing but goose-stepping-identity-politics-rubber-heads, need their memories jostled to help relive them from their hypnosis.
Politics is a war fought on more than one front, and each front requires action. The Left gets that. At the end of the day, we are fighting for the territory of common sense, and no area of image processing is off limits.
Saltysam on November 23, 2012 at 4:23 PM
Sure it can. Once upon a time being called a “communist” was as bad as being called a “racist”. This tactic adopted by the Left is just re-canned McCarthyism with Chris Matthews — a drunkard and all — playing the role of Sen. McCarthy himself. They’re simply trying to terrorize us to get us to shut up and live in fear of their naming of names — it’s total PC McCarthyism from start to finish.
But luckily for us, the media’s readership is indeed overwhelmingly white, college-educated (whom Romney took this time around), and the GOP (and conservatives) should call out the media’s anti-white hatred — and its insistence that no one can call out an incompetent black woman in a free country — for the anti-American depostism that it is.
Highlight the Left’s contempt for white people, white males, etc. and score points by whittling away their share of white voters. Polarize, polarize, polarize like Mr. Alinsky instructed while shaming those who side with the Left’s anti-American program for racial balkanization.
Oh, and when dealing with media — go ALPHA MALE and put them in their place and others will follow. There is no point in cowering before Sen.
McCarthy’sMatthews’ hearings. Be as brazen and bold as the communist were in defying and tearing down HUAC and McCarthy’s career. In short: Drive a wedge between the media and its white subscribers, make it a moral outrage, seize the high ground with MLK’s “dream”, and shame the media and the Left into submission.
Punchenko on November 23, 2012 at 4:37 PM
Obama sent a black woman out to lie to the nation to cover up for his foreign policy failure and gross incompetence. Does this make Obama a racist or misogynist? Or both.
