The GOP and racism, yet again
But can you imagine how much worse it will get if Republicans actually do reach out to the black community (as they should)? One of the points of racial slander is to signal that only liberal policies are guaranteed to be non-racist (even when such policies were forged with racist intent, like the Davis-Bacon Act). This is why the Congressional Black Caucus insists on calling itself the “conscience of the Congress.”
That’s why policies like school choice are routinely denounced as racist, even though they are largely aimed at improving the lives of inner-city blacks trapped in bad schools. Teachers’ unions don’t like school choice, ergo it’s racist.
Any serious attempt by the GOP to win black votes won’t involve Republicans copycatting liberal policies. It will require going over the heads of the black and white liberal slanderers to offer a sincere alternative to failed liberal policies on schools, poverty, crime, etc. The more effective that effort, the more the GOP will be called racist.

Why bother? Until people feel the full effects of liberalism there’s no chance to change brainwashed minds.

Agreed.

We’re not going to immediately see returns from the urban, black community. What will matter is our engagement of these voters, over time. We need to think about contesting every vote, and not writing off large sections of the electorate before we begin. Contesting these votes has to be a constant effort — it is not enough to approach them only during campaign season. Non-election years have to be seen as battleground preparation for election years. Like the left, we will need to wage a “permanent campaign” to be successful, over time.

We can’t even get the great black’s running elected? West, Love come to mind. I don’t think it is our ‘racist’ attitude, but I haven’t a clue why so many R blacks running can’t or won’t get elected? Can you give a clue? Is it the d’s slam anyone, any shade that isn’t a d?
I can NOT even begin to tell you how sick I am of hearing about the shade of ones skin as to why we ‘hate, won’t vote for them, or anything else the d’s/bhopress slings at us!

Proper governance and law are implemented irrespective of any particular racial or ethnic group’s petty interests. “Reaching out” to these groups, perverting the law and governance, is to head towards inconsistent governance, which leads to anarchy and chaos (as we are well down on the road towards, thanks to the lefty tribalists). Conservativism is about governance and laws for all, not to be offering special goodies to racial and ethnic groups in exchange for votes. That is the way insanity lies. If some groups think they deserve special considerations and special exemptions in law then they don’t understand and don’t seem to care for a modern, civilized nation.
Opportunity is all that people are offered, not success. Many can’t seem to understand this but that is how life is. Just because some group wants to be known as great mathematicians is irrelevant. Either they do great mathematics or they don’t. You can’t make pretend that they are great mathematicians without destroying modern society in promoting incorrect work that forms the foundation of our modern, information society as “groundbreaking” and of value when it isn’t. But everyone has the opportunity to try to do great mathematics and that is all that matters.
No society on Earth has ever offered nearly the same economic mobility as America. But too many in our society don’t care about that and would rather destroy this great society just so that they can feel a little better about themselves. And those who entertain playing to these people are just as bad.

This election I have come to the conclusion that it is the clear wish of the Democrats that the Republicans be racist, whether they actually are or not, for their own political gain. I base this on three observations:
1.) Blacks and females in the Republican Party are consistently the #1 targets of the left (i.e Michelle Bachmann, Allen West, Clarence Thomas);
2.) The left plays “Six Degrees of Noah Webster,” making insane word connections trying to connect the most commonplace words that come from Republicans’ mouth and twist them into “racial code words”;
3.) When they get bored with the above, the left infiltrate conservative gatherings and yell blatantly racist claptrap, tape it, and post it online as “proof” that conservatives are racist.
When the left can’t find racism, they invent it for political gain.

School choice would be a good place to start. And get the former head of DC schools, Michelle Rhee, as the advocate.

If you are not a democratic socialist, you may be a racist and are suspect. You must submit to many interviews, answer many question correctly, and behave properly to prove you are not.
If you are a democratic socialist you are by assumed not a racist by default. Others must prove otherwise, even if you once wore white sheets and had a prominent title in a racist organization.
It’s not really about race. It’s about promoting and advancing a political and economic system and destroying another. The charge of racism is a useful tool used by and on useful idiots.

To ask this little of the first half black president is the ultimate form of racism.

It’s the Left’s McCarthyism to denounce the opposition as “racists” and silence us from holding the Democrats accountable. We have to beat this new McCarthyism like the communists tore down McCarthy.
The Right can start with the career of Chris Matthews and send a message that divisive and dangerous race-baiting is not acceptable.
Punchenko on November 23, 2012 at 4:48 PM
McCarthy happened to have been correct and communists and other assorted idiot leftists remained a serious threat to America – which they have finally killed.

I know some conservatives call it pandering but we do need to reach out minorities. And the argument is we are never gonna win these group so why try? If reaching out this group moves numbers just a few percentage points….it’s worth it.

O_o
Ladysmith CulchaVulcha on November 23, 2012 at 4:59 PM
It doesn’t matter if he was correct since he clearly lost and now they are in the driver seat.
The goal — much like the Left’s goal — is to unseat the present left-wing establishment from the media on down to academia from the driver seat.

I like the dog whistle. You know the words that are racist that only a racist can react to. The non-racist liberal and media hears them all the them. So they must exist. right?

No, but Susan Rice did. That’s who he was talking about.
darwin on November 23, 2012 at 5:11 PM
Look, don’t defend the Republicans against the charge, that’s playing the other side’s game. Instead, start talking about black racism in the Democratic party (hello? Al Sharpton?) and any other sort of racism (anti-asian-American effect of affirmative action) you can hang on them. There will be plenty.

And even when their inflated lives come crashing down, they will never change. The GOP and conservatives will all be blamed for the sins of the liberal/Socialists.
Let them all die.
Myron Falwell on November 23, 2012 at 6:30 PM
Exactly.
Except that the Right’s McCarthyism lasted only a few years and decades on was shown to be in large part accurate.
The Left’s McCarthyism is many decades old, is still going strong, and is almost entirely wrong.
The Left’s McCarthyism is also more broadly targeted. It includes obvious idiocies like the “War on Women”.
