Kerry’s a better choice for Secretary of State than Rice
Kerry, a prominent senator for 28 years, would sail through his Senate confirmation hearings. Rice would be pinned down not just by Benghazi but by some of her past statements, in particular these two: In 1994, when she served on President Bill Clinton’s National Security Council, she reportedly asked about the possibility of intervening in Rwanda: “If we use the word ’genocide’ and are seen as doing nothing, what will be the effect on the November election?”
In 2011, as European countries were pushing for a UN Security Council resolution creating a no-fly zone over Libya, she reportedly told the France’s UN ambassador, Gerard Araud, that the U.S. wouldn’t be pulled into France’s war and she disparaged the conflict with an obscenity. Dredging up the latter incident is especially unfair, considering that Rice joined Secretary of State Hillary Clinton and the National Security Council official Samantha Power to push the men in the administration to intervene in Libya. Still, Kerry’s colleagues wouldn’t hesitate to use any ammunition on hand against Rice.
Kerry would be much-better received than Rice not just in the Senate but in the rest of the world — which should be more than a little relevant in this decision. After 27 years on the Senate Foreign Relations Committee, he knows every player of consequence. His on-the-job training would be minimal.

Also, if John Kerry(who served in Vietnam, BTW) left the Senate, that opens up the seat for Scott Brown to make a run at it. It’s not unfathomable that MassachusettEs sends him back to DC. Especially if Obama’s 2nd term goes about as well as his 1st and Warren continues to make an ass of herself.

Kerry? Why not Jane Fonda then?

Sort of like a turnip would make a better Secretary of State than a parsnip would.
Either of which would be preferrable to Kerry.

I think my pet boxer Sam would be better than both…combined.

John Kerry has complete, unconcealed contempt for our military, as does Barack Obama. So, sure, he’d make a great choice.

Susan Rice or John Kerry?
What a pathetic party ya got there that can’t field anyone better than either of these.
Of course, seeing where Ambassador Stevens wound up might just put a chilling factor into the equation. Really, who would trust this Administration in high level foreign policy protection of personnel after that?

Why are we given the fallacy of false choice aka false dichotomy, since there are other, much more qualified, individuals for the position.
Oh wait…Obama is in office….

Isn’t this kinda like choosing between stubbing your toe or smashing your thumb?

It sure appears bho can find the most repulsive people he can find for his administration, doesn’t he? Both kerry and rice are horrible choices, but both fit right in with bho/team?

So if Kerry and his people are campaigning against Rice, that makes them racist misogynists, right? Help me out, I’m just trying to understand the standards.

Kerry is infinitely more qualified than Rice. Firstly, Kerry would have the support of the senate (both pubs and dems). Secondly, State needs a consummate diplomat, which Kerry represents. In Maureen Dowds own words, Rice is like a bull in a china shop. She may be good in the political arena, but in international diplomacy, shes a zero compared to Kerry. Thirdly, Kerry is well known to the international community. The dude knows most Presidents or Prime Ministers by their first name, and they trust him. So Kerry it is.

He actually has training for the UN position: razing villages, raping women, electrodes to testicles, etc.

If you are referring to this:
That’s a reference to his Senate colleagues, specifically McCain is mentioned in the article. Did you just call GOP senators racist misogynists? Good to hear women on both sides have a similar opinion of GOP.

Using false premises to make ‘logical’ arguments is very illogical.
Some day, hopefully, your little brain will begin to comprehend this basic lesson.

IMV, anyone would be better than John Kerry, except Obama himself.

Mark levin has said that getting Rice under oath for a confirmation hearing would open up Obama regarding Benghazi. I would much prefer Kerry for SOS than SECDEF. That would be a “2fer” for us. Get him out of the senate and get Scott Brown a clear shot to win the open seat. The dems have no bench for another state wide senate race. The irony would be that Scott would still be the junior senator to Warren.
