MSNBC chief: “This channel has never been the voice of Obama”
Griffin acknowledges that his hosts are more likely to agree with Obama on policy matters than with Republicans, but rejects comparisons to Fox News.
“This channel has never been the voice of Obama. Ever,” Griffin told The Huffington Post. “People want to talk about Fox. Fox is the voice of the Republican Party.”
Clearly, there are differences, such as Fox News giving significant airtime to contributors like political consultant Dick Morris, who acknowledged after the election that he had tailored his analysis to cheer up Republicans, and Karl Rove, perhaps the most powerful Republican operative. And although MSNBC hosts were upset by Obama’s initial debate debacle, they didn’t sugarcoat the performance.
“We hire smart people with a progressive sensibility,” Griffin said. “I tell them to go think for themselves. We don’t have talking points.”

He’s right, the sound coming out your backside isn’t a voice.

I hate people like this. Just admit that you’re biased and then we can have an honest discussion.

Correct. Obama is a little more subtle.

That’s like asking Ailes, “Is your channel the voice of Bush” back in 2005. Of course it was, but he’d never admit it publicly.

What else was he going to say?

Well, to be fair, it’s hard to have a voice with Zero’s you-know-what in your mouth.

President Choom probably has too much class to have anything to do with these useful idiots. He can count on them to parrot the party line without ever having to acknowledge them. Has the Choomster ever appeared on one of their programs?

The smartest.
MSNBC took one look at Sean Hannity and decided to get serious so they hired Allah Sharpton.
CorporatePiggy on November 22, 2012 at 10:49 AM
Do you EVER address the actual topic? From your comment, I take that you agree MSNBC is the voice of Obama, though this guy won’t admit it publicly.

MSNBC – The biggest example of media corruption in our lifetime.
Travis1 on November 22, 2012 at 10:56 AM
I think any conservative FOX viewer would acknowledge the channel has a bias, but from reading the comments from the “true believers” over at HP, they’d have you believe MSNBC is the paragon of truth and fairness.
I suppose that makes sense if you’ve been convinced that all conservatives are evil nazis worthy only of derision and scorn.
heretic on November 22, 2012 at 10:56 AM
Hes right. MSNBC is the propoganda arm of the democratic party. When O goes after 4 years, they’re still gonna root for the next dem lightbringer.
tommy71 on November 22, 2012 at 10:56 AM
MSNBC is unabashedly socialist with a RINO figleaf in Scarborough.
Fox is certainly right leaning but hardly conservative. OReilly and Hannity pull in the biggest audience, and there’s no way you could mistake O’Reilly for being conservative or Hannity for having higher brain functions.

No one said they were the voice of Obama. We said they are the bedmate of Obama.
ctmom on November 22, 2012 at 11:24 AM
I do agree, but what I was trying to head off was this assertion:
This is ridiculous, given FOX New’s having created the notion of a cable news “voice” for an administration. This is the kind of silliness I tried to address with my comment.

I wasn’t aware Bush Cheerleader Chrissy Matthews was employed by Faux News.

Apparently most people don’t agree with you, since FOX News ratings are so much better than MSNBC’s, including among Independents and Democrats. Microsoft was so embarrassed by the association that they made them change their website to make NBC take responsibility for them.

If people feel this strongly about it, you could always boycott their sponsors and let them know why you are not buying their product.
I believe some are Starbucks, OralB, Campbell’s Soup.
You know, if people feel strongly about it and actually want to take a stand instead of complain about it.
Starve the beast.

Good Lord, that is about as lame as Hannity’s plan for dinner with those irritating liberals in our lives.
The only liberal in my family is my sister-in-law. I was planning, if she bragged about Obama winning, to tell her I am just so glad to find out that the American people are happy to pay higher taxes so I can enjoy my retirement, knowing that following generations are apparently happy to foot the bill. I just found out last night that she voted for Romney, because her family has sold a lease for natural gas fracking, and they heard Obama is going to try to put an end to that. LOL

Not even close. You’ve just never seen a channel that leans objective compared to the propaganda your liberal channels pump out. Your basic liberal wouldn’t recognize objectivity if it hit them in the head.

Isn’t this what Peter Wehner was talking about? The fact that the MSM is unabashedly liberal isn’t nearly as troubling as the fact that they truly believe they are unbiased–to the point that they take offense at the suggestion that they don’t play it straight.
I think he compared it to trying to tell someone who drinks too much he/she is an alcoholic. Denial, denial, denial.
Black/cool/far-left liberal Obama has pushed the MSM past the point of no return. There is no hope they will ever behave like real journalists again.
You first have to acknowledge you HAVE a problem before you can fix it. They don’t think they have a problem.
