Study: Abortions fell five percent during recession
U.S. abortions fell 5 percent during the recession and its aftermath in the biggest one-year decrease in at least a decade, perhaps because women are more careful to use birth control when times are tough, researchers say.
The decline, detailed on Wednesday by the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, came in 2009, the most recent year for which statistics are available. Both the number of abortions and the abortion rate dropped by the same percentage.
Some experts theorize that some women believed they couldn’t afford to get pregnant.

I guess that’s bad news for Planned Parenthood’s profit margin.

That’s easy. Unemployed men aren’t getting laid.
Next?

At least we can celebrate along with the left that abortions became a bit more rare, right?

More kids, more welfare.

Men not willing to pay for it I am guessing… The sex that is… Myabe women upping their prices? Combination?

The birth rate has been falling too.

Hmmmm, So this might mean, if Planned Parenthood doesn’t have the funds to ensure cheap or free abortions for poor women, they might actually avoid getting pregnant?
Sekhmet on November 21, 2012 at 2:11 PM
Huh. So when women can’t access abortion, for economic reasons in this case, they take more personal responsibility and avoid getting pregnant in the first place? Might that even suggest that easy access to abortion causes women to be less responsible and results in more unplanned pregnancies? Who could have possibly predicted that? Hey, I wonder what would happen if abortion were suddenly done away with.
Nah, that’s crazy talk…

Don’t worry – once obamacare kicks in, obamasluts will be getting knocked-up left and right (mostly left) and the Planned Parenthood meat-grinders will be working overtime to keep up with demand for FREE (taxpayer-funded) obamabortions.

Aborted fetus placards must be doing the trick.

You know the Marxist economy has hit rock bottom when the typical Leftist bimbo “burdened” with a baby….. can’t afford to kill it.

I am thinking there are fewer abortions because there are fewer sexual excursions, because under and unemployed men cannot pay for the dinner and a movie upfront for the sexual excursion… And even if they could pay for the dinner, living at home with mom and dad makes it harder to get the girl into a bed.
astonerii on November 21, 2012 at 2:56 PM
That has everything to do with it. No money, no going out, no partying. Fewer unwanted pregnancies.

Well…. if the car gets repossessed that makes the back seat unavailable too…. The beach is closed due to hurricane damage…
A high percentage of our population hooks ups (bypassing all that old dinner routine) and breeds like careless rats nonetheless. Anywhere. They were reminded by Billy Clintoon that sex isn’t about sex just like a “fetus” isn’t human if you use a different word.
Our housing projects are chock full of babies resultant from deadbeats whom have never, ever, ever had jobs by deadbeats whom have never, ever had jobs either who got knocked up to get their own Section 8 apartment. I’m hopeful abortion numbers are genuinely decreasing but the motivations of our culture trending towards responsibility does not seem to be the case.

its a lovely world we are bequeathing to our children.

Well… it may work out for them better than expected.
There could be a flourishing Re-United States of America with a strong border patrol and perimeter in place to keep out the collapsed and evicted third world border nations of New England and Mexifornillioregoinnitanashington.
