Poll: Christie’s approval surges in New Jersey, now at 67%
The Republican governor, who will face re-election in 2013 and is considered a contender for the U.S. presidency in 2016, has a 67 percent favorability rating among registered voters in the state, up from 48 percent in October.
The boost is notable because Christie’s ratings have stayed steady between 44 and 50 percent for his nearly three years in office, according to David Redlawsk, director of the Rutgers-Eagleton Poll…
Among New Jerseyans, 81 percent said Christie and Obama showed “needed cooperation and bipartisanship,” while 12 percent said Christie went too far, the Rutgers-Eagleton Poll found.

Were they able to poll the people who still have no power and could not see him make an azz out of himself on SNL?

67% of NJ’ers approve of him getting Obama re-elected.

So at least 67% of NJ’s population are idiots.

Never realized being an unabashed sycophant was a synonym for bipartisanship.

Stay in NJ, or else, as Paula Broadwell would say, we’ll make you go away (from the national political GOP scene). Between his RNC convention keynote, and sucking up to Obama, he’s Donuta Non Grata to me.

Some enterprising donut shop owner needs to cash in on Christie’s popularity and open a donut shop near Trenton and name it “Christie Kreme.”
UltimateBob on November 21, 2012 at 12:58 PM
Yes, Christie is the real reason Romney lost.

Really? I don’t seem him winning the Democratic Party nomination over Hillary. No way.

More reasons why not to believe this election cycle and the direction of it are reversible.

They will still choose the Democrat when the rubber meets the road.

I’d live to see the crosstabs. 50% are probably Democrats thankful he helped Obama get reelected.

I’d give him 50:50 against Booker, and that’s if Krspy Kreme’s SuperPAC really pulls its weight.

It’s been said many times by hotair commenters (never by the big cheeses though) that Christie is a pro-Islam, gun grabbing, climate change believing, Obama supporting Northeastern RINO.

Christie and Obamuh showed “needed cooperation and bipartisanship” but yet the people still pretty much got nothing but crap. These people polled have to be NJers who weren’t that affected by the storm bcuz all they really got was craperation and bipartisansh!t.
You’re right about that bcuz it was one good thing. However, not all of us went Ann Coulter over Christie bcuz he was an unknown before his election as NJ governor but we knew about his stance on things like immigration and climate change, amongst others, and never seriously considered him for pres or veep.

“Among New Jerseyans, 81 percent said Christie and Obama showed “needed cooperation and bipartisanship,” while 12 percent said Christie went too far, the Rutgers-Eagleton Poll found.”
So, it seems our politicians are now judged on APPEARANCES, not actual results. Because the actual results fall short of the appearance.
We deserve the government we get.
I don’t live in NJ, but I’ll happily donate to Cory Booker if he runs.

That surprises me not at all. New Jersey is a heavily Democrat state. They probably loved the Obama tongue bath. The problem is if CRISTie wants the GOP nomination, he has to win over Republican voters in much redder states. Good luck with that, pal.
That being said, I do hope he wins reelection if for no other reason than to stifle the rise of Cory Booker. You know the Dems are gonna go out of their way from this point forward to run only minorities and female Presidential candidates if they can help it.

While I occasionally find Christie entertaining and agree with him on some matters (keeping perspective that he is a NE RINO in a leftist bastion), I have not and will not offer him any support for a national office.
He is so out of touch with “flyover country” that he doesn’t even know that he is out of touch. I voted against Obama – twice, Kerry, Gore, Clinton – twice and Dukakis. I’m done. I can’t imagine any future candidate being worse than Obama. So now that the worst has happened – twice! – there is no reason to ever again vote for the RINO-rific alternative to a SCOAMF. I cannot at the moment imagine ever voting for any national ticket on which Christie is a candidate as I can’t imagine anyone I would vote “FOR” (as opposed to against their opponent) would be dumb enough to pick him as a running mate. If he made it to the top of the ticket, the GOP is so far gone that there is no reason for me to support them anyway.
deepdiver on November 21, 2012 at 2:13 PM
No. There’s a difference between the national Christie and the Governor Christie here. He has done a far better job during the aftermath of the hurricane in NJ than his counterparts across the river, and after Jon Corzine and Gay American Jim McGreevey, Christie is still worlds better.
Approve of his job as governor? Yeah.
Approve of his effusive praise of our sociopath President a week before the election? Hell no. Christie is, hopefully, finished as a national candidate.
