Egyptian FM: Ceasefire between Israel and Hamas to go into effect tonight
Asked whether a ceasefire deal had been reached, an Egyptian official in Cairo said: “Yes, and Egypt will announce it.”
Egyptian state TV had earlier said a news conference would be broadcast from President Mohamed Morsi’s palace shortly.
Israeli sources said Israel had agreed to a truce, but would not lift its blockade of the Palestinian territory, which is run by the Islamist Hamas movement.

Yeah, right. And, Benghazi was all about a spontaneous protest over a movie.

I’ll believe it when I see it. Especially after the terrorist attack on the bus. We keep hearing of a ceasefire but never from the sources that count.

Just after Hamas fires a volley of rockets into Tel Aviv…again.
Mitoch55 on November 21, 2012 at 1:01 PM
Does the Israeli PMs office count? At the moment it looks like two unilateral cease fires rather a full agreement but the Israelis have been pushing for a multi-stage process rather than trying to have a comprehensive agreement all at once.

Rush is talking about this now and he sounds as if he isn’t buying the cease fire or if it will last long?

Does Israel want a ceasefire until Iran is “handled”?
Oil Can on November 21, 2012 at 1:10 PM
This won’t last long.

The Egyptian Administraton are members of the Muslim Brotherhood. Excuse me, if I have my doubts.
kingsjester on November 21, 2012 at 1:11 PM
Rush is saying that Fox is reporting that the cease fire was already agreed to but they had to wait for hill to announce it and to get to egypt so she and bho could take credit?

And the excuse will be “We can’t control every person. Those 20 rockets were just a lone wolf for Allah (pbuh)”.
I find it hard to believe Israel would not be fed up with this crap by now.
Mimzey on November 21, 2012 at 1:16 PM
So Hamas and Israel don’t have Rush’s permission yet? Are we close? Please keep us updated.

Cease fire will go into effect, which the terrorist Hamas will fire rockets into Israel. Israel will roll tanks into Gaza then get accused of breaking the cease fire, giving 0bama cover for breaking ties formally with Israel. The other Muslim terrorist (that’s redundant) countries will get involved and this Israel will be forced to defend itself and some countries will be radioactive for quite some time. Thus starts WWIII right in time for the end of the Mayan Calendar.

Translation: “Egyptian FM: Hamas has run out of rockets and needs time to regroup and get more.”
ConservativePartyNow on November 21, 2012 at 1:23 PM
Sure. But where in the article is there a quote from the Israeli PM’s office? I see the Muslim Brotherhood is represented but the Israeli position seems to be based on “sources say” which is pretty meaningless at this point.

Golda Meir said words to the effect that “this will all stop when they love their children more than they hate us”.

Here is the text of the agreement per AFP:
“Israel shall stop all hostilities in the Gaza Strip land sea and air, including incursions and targeting of individuals.
“All Palestinian factions shall stop all hostilities from the Gaza Strip against Israel, including rocket attacks and all attacks along the border.
“Opening the crossings and facilitating the movement of people and transfer of goods and refraining from restricting residents’ free movements and targeting residents in border areas. Procedures of implementation shall be dealt with after 24 hours from the start of the ceasefire.
“Other matters as may be requested shall be addressed.”
“Implementation mechanism.
“Setting up the zero hour understanding to enter into effect.
“Egypt shall receive assurances from each party that the party commits to what was agreed upon.
“Each party shall commit itself not to perform any acts that would breach this understanding. In case of any observations, Egypt as a sponsor of this understanding, shall be informed to follow up.”

That’s the Egyptian position and wish list. Where is the Israeli’s voice in all this? Egypt has no authority to instill anything much less order Israel to do it’s bidding..
HotAirian on November 21, 2012 at 1:51 PM
The Israeli PM just thanked Egypt in a press conference 30mins ago. Let’s see what happens when the cease fire kicks off some time from now. Both sides are still trading blows.

Egyptian FM: “Well, we can’t do squat about our crappy economy, soaring food and fuel costs and all the other things we were elected to take care of, but hey: a shiny object!!!”

Riiiiiiiiiiiiiiiight!!
Hamas has suddenly yielded to outside pressure…and the Palestine territories have suddenly turned “governable”!!!
/naive_stupidity>
There can only be a “ceasefire” when Hamas runs out of ammunition. The only lasting solution begins with total defeat and elimination of Hamas.

You forgot the most important provision:
“Egypt will receive big bucks from the USA for making this announcement.”
