It is the Palestinians that do not accept a two state solution. They do not accept that Israel is a state/nation. You can not find a map in Gaza that has Israel on it.

Then what is the aim of a full scale invasion? If Israel cannot compel them to accept their rule, and yet they continue to strike, it can only be in the service of eventually emptying Gaza of its muslim inhabitants.

To get to this point – where the resistance is militant enough to warrant a full scale eradication. I mean, what the hell else are they looking to achieve?? They could end everything now by absorbing the territories and giving everyone living in Israel one vote. If they won’t accept that, and they won’t accept a two state solution, the only possible end they could be going for is the end to the muslim population in Gaza.

What full scale eradication? They are looking to kill the people who shoot at them. That’s it.Israel would be perfectly happy with a 2 state solution, so long as the Palestinians stop shooting at them. How Gaza has worked out has not exactly inspired confidence.

If Israelis gave a crap about the Gaza strip why would they have given it up to begin with?

Israel was promised peace if they gave the Palestinians this strip of land. As with every other time Israel gave up land for peace, Israel received aggression for their gift. ernesto, are you aware that there are Muslims living in Israel?

Is ethnic cleansing not the motivation here? I mean, we’ve already seen more than a few HotAir commenters state as such, but can anyone explain to me what Israel’s motivation could be beside eventually eradicating muslims from that strip of land?
