The Obama data trove is up for grabs
But with Mr. Obama’s last bid for public office behind him, his political team also is trying to sort through what to do with his voters list and information about his supporters for the long term.
Lists of voters contacted by the campaign, along with basic information about them, are due to be transferred to the Democratic National Committee, which will use them to help Democratic candidates in future elections. One option is to have the DNC house Mr. Obama’s fuller trove of information, as well, which includes scores assigned to each voter indicating how likely the individual is to support or oppose Mr. Obama and which issues the person cares most about, among other details.
But it isn’t clear that a network built around the appeal of Mr. Obama could transfer effectively to other candidates, or that voters who signed up for email messages from the Obama campaign or as volunteers would welcome such a move. Aides also are sorting through how the DNC would cover the cost of maintaining and updating the voter information.
Another option is to create a new organization to house Mr. Obama’s campaign data, as well as to update it, one Democratic Party official said. Such an organization might be more personally associated with Mr. Obama. It also would have the potential to give the president leverage in the selection of the next Democratic presidential nominee.

Slate has a pretty fair article about making such data work.
The president’s campaign manager explains how the Obama campaign did it.
Election ‘day’ is a thing of the past. Early voting is the tactic of the future.

Who would want a list of every bum and grifter in Philly, LA, or Detroit.

Let’s see how effective this data trove is when it is a) not protecting an incumbent and b)the next Democrat has only 18 months or so to figure out how to use it against the R nominee.

Early voting is the tactic of the future because it allows multiple paths for stealing votes. Those buses of people from neighboring counties and states now have days and days to drive around. They can even steal the votes of living voters that intended to vote on Election Day. Early voting is unconstitutional and we need to get rid of it.

Gee, I dunno… maybe people who want to win elections in Philly, LA and Detroit?

That data was driven be cultists sucking on the Obama ether. It won’t matter much to their potential 2016 bench. Without Obama on the ticket, the swooners won’t be as engaged Now it makes sense why they did silly things like $3 raffles for dinner with Obama. We thought it was desperate fund raising. Instead it was intended to get peeps into their data mining operation. Pretty ingenious after all.

This data will be useless in 2016. You won’t hear the democrat nominee run on anything Obama’s done. It will be just like McCain running away from Bush in 2008. I fully expect the rebirth of the Clinton “new democrat” in 2016. They will still preach social liberalism but they will have a fiscal conservatism that has not been seen from a democrat in decades! This will cause a silent war within the democrat party that the media will ignore but damage will be done splitting up current voting coalitions. It will favor the GOP nominee.
