Hostess/union mediation fails; next stop, liquidation?
Hostess Brands said Tuesday night that it failed to reach a deal in mediation with the Bakery, Confectionary, Tobacco and Grain Millers Union.
The bankrupt maker of Twinkies and Ding Dongs said it will have no further comment until a hearing scheduled for Wednesday at 11 a.m ET before the U.S. Bankruptcy Court for the Southern District of New York.
A union representative did not immediately respond to a request for comment.
The ailing company, which also makes Wonder Bread and Drake’s cakes, sought permission from bankruptcy court on Monday to liquidate its business, claiming that its operations were crippled by the bakers’ strike and that winding down was the best way to preserve its dwindling cash.

Unions want to have their cake and eat it, too.

The Regime will intervene again.
The judge has already gone wobbly.
Come on, get me to 100 hits already
I’m writing really good stuff daily no one has read yet. Yeah, how all aspiring bloggers start off.

That was yesterday.
This thread is about today – they met with the judge and it all faltered. Sober up.

Good, I hope these union goons lose their jobs, suffer in the holiday season, and end up on food stamps in the next few years when their pensions can no longer cover their living expenses in the coming hyper-inflation.
I hope no one employs them , ever.

This hearing NEVER SHOULD HAVE HAPPENED. HE ordered the union to take the offer. They went on strike instead. His only option was to grant the liquidation offer. The backtrack to give them a “lastest final chance” was clearly prompted by Obama/Holder.
This isn’t about Twinkies for them, it’s about preserving thousands of union thug jobs, when it is clear that liquidation means the LOSS of those union thug obamasucklng jobs.

Indeed, and repeat thousands of times until millions of the fools feel the pain. They need to learn the hard way.
Starve the looters (as in bad characters of Rand).
In turn you hurt the stupid moochers.

Ask Romney, it’s his fault this happened.

the thought of liquid Twinkies makes my stomach turn.

Too bad. So sad.
I quit buying their products years ago bcs they are dry & like cardboard.
Little Debbie & Dolly Madison products are what I prefer, when I actually do buy such things.
I’m a fan of the Zinger.

Metropolous? Superman going to save teh Twinkie?
davidk on November 21, 2012 at 8:25 AM
Remedial math for America. How much of this will it take before they start getting it?
ElectricPhase on November 21, 2012 at 8:30 AM
Dolly Madison is a Hostess imprint, Butch. They make Zingers as well as Twinkies. You won’t get either one if this liquidation doesn’t result in a buyer.
