“Christie allowed Obama to be president, not a politician”
The tensions followed Mr. Christie to the annual meeting of the Republican Governors Association in Las Vegas last week. At a gathering where he had expected to be celebrated, Mr. Christie was repeatedly reminded of how deeply he had offended fellow Republicans.
“I will not apologize for doing my job,” he emphatically told one of them in a hotel hallway at the ornate Wynn Resort…
During a lengthy autopsy of their campaign, Mr. Romney’s political advisers pored over data showing that an unusually large number of voters who remained undecided until the end of the campaign backed Mr. Obama. Many of them cited the storm as a major factor in their decision, according to a person involved in the discussion.
“Christie,” a Romney adviser said, “allowed Obama to be president, not a politician.”…
“A lot of politicians look out for themselves,” said Mr. Gross, the Republican from Iowa. “They just usually camouflage it better.”

The guy is pure politics, Arlen, I mean Christie, knew what he was doing.
More likely than not
Rural conservative financially beaten blue collars stayed home. Obviously they didn’t buy Romney’s promise that cutting taxes and removing regulations would regain their jobs. Maybe some of that was the fact these are the people displaced by illegal alien workers. Doubt that Christie impacted those voters much.
But Christie made up the minds of the touchie feelie independents who were looking for a reason to vote Obama and regain their self esteem for voting Obama the last time.
If Christie did not realize how he was setting up obama, he is too stupid to be dog catcher (a polical appointment in many municipalities)
The guy is dead meat to me
Many were expecting an election week surprise, which might have been the purpose of Benghzai (hostage, negotiations, triumphant resolution), but Christie turned the trick for them on the cheap, since it only required federal bucks

Christie’s last minute love festival with Obama worked towards those focus group types who said they wanted bi partisanship and working together above all else.
Christie turned the most partisan vicious President into Mr Bi Partisan, just long enough to get the focus group swingers swinging the correct direction as they went to the polls
