Hey GOP, take the Palin cure
She’s tough as nails too. After Election 2008, she was supposed to have been through. This year eight of the 14 GOP candidates Palin endorsed for Congress won election or reelection, including tea party favorite Ted Cruz for a Senate seat in Texas…
There are also the snooty East Coast Republican intellectual types, such as Peggy Noonan, who look down their noses at a woman who doesn’t shop at Neiman Marcus and didn’t attend an Ivy League university. But Peggy made a fool of herself calling the election for Romney on Nov. 5. Who’s going to care what she and her ilk have to say next time?
Some Republicans will say Palin has too much baggage from 2008, and we need to look for a new Sarah Palin. But I don’t see what’s wrong with the one we’ve got. Ever since the 1990s, Republicans have been looking for the next Ronald Reagan. Reagan is now revered in bipartisan circles, but during his presidency he was, like Palin, ridiculed by liberals. They cited “Bedtime for Bonzo” and sneered at his no-name college degree.
Sarah Palin is the new Ronald Reagan: charming and affable and unwilling to back down if she’s right. I can’t see what’s wrong with that.

Could she even win in Alaska? Her popularity there is not what it used to be. It would be great if she could win that Senate seat, though.

I don’t know. Alaskans will have to weigh in. She’d run a great campaign & get plenty of outside donations and support. She has a lot left in her tank to help our country beyond being a Fox commentator. I wish she’d consider it.

She ain’t perfect … she ain’t Reagan … She is more conservative and desireable than most of these RINO’s that are running for the RIGHT.
Life … Liberty … and the pursuit of happiness … Constitutional canditates are my desire. If Mrs. Palin fits the bill and NO one else offers us more hope … I will support HER.
Obambi and his ilk are not the answer … they are our demise.
ORrighty on November 18, 2012 at 9:36 PM
She sounds like a third-grader reading a book report whenever she appears on TV for interviews. She cannot handle challenging interview situations. Her analysis of the issues never goes beyond the most superficial, clichéd points. Sorry, but voters simply don’t take her seriously. She does fine when she is reading speeches written by other people and when she has one of her aids help her with Facebook posts, but her glaring inadequacies are laid bare every time she appears for TV interviews, even in friendly venues like the Hannity show.

All you have to do is read the comments section of the LA Times to see the fits of liberal apoplexy that a Sarah Palin candidacy would create. Watching the liberal meltdown if she ran would be totally worth it. And she could win. . .especially against Hillary.

Hey Sparky, Palin’s still standing, Romney not so much..:)
idesign on November 18, 2012 at 9:45 PM
I really wanted Palin to run in 2012. That was her moment – as the GOP primaries made clear. I just don’t see the possibility of success in 2016.
The irony is that she’s young enough to make a come back, potentially in 2020 or 2024, if the GOP is out of power that long.
Anyway, I think her best route back into the national political conversation is as advocate for and organizer of the conservative grassroots, or through some other office, such as through a challenge of Mark Begich in 2014.

thanks goodness for the person who wrote this article! i can’t believe there’s a sarah palin article i 100% agree with. usually they say something i have a problem with. but this one is great!!
i hope more people realize how great of a choice sarah is for president. we need to spread this article around.

Thought I love Sarah, I understand she has major hurdles to be elected President.
But re: ordinary people and “no information” voters, if ANY conservative can reach them, and will try to reach them, and can craft a message to reach them, Sarah can. That’s one of her biggest appeals for me — she’s a rock-solid conservative, who truly understands the underpinnings of conservatism, who has the “common touch”. She really does.

Old woman vs. young woman. Young woman wins.

Now tell me again how that educated, polished, experienced politician did against the nice little Baracka palooza and the dem thugs?
arnold ziffel on November 18, 2012 at 9:58 PM
The unelectable, unqualified Sarah Palin played all of you worshipers for fools last year. She never had any intention of running, and she is not going to run in 2016. She is going to continue selling books and making money. Which is just as well, since she has zero chance of winning a general election.
bluegill on November 18, 2012 at 10:01 PM
Put up or shut up…give us some/any evidence that she doesn’t write her own stuff.
A. Weasel on November 18, 2012 at 10:02 PM
Totally agree with your encapsulation of Palin: a conservative fighter with a common touch. I truly think she is a special political talent who unfortunately has been harmed by circumstances. She intuitively “gets” how to connect with and sell conservatism to today’s working class. In part, that’s what made her so frightening to the GOP establishment and the Frumian Romneyites.
Robert_Paulson on November 18, 2012 at 10:03 PM
So, Romney’s problem was that he sounded too educated and experienced? Therefore, we need to go with someone who quit halfway through their first term as governor and who sounds like a complete idiot in TV interview appearances? Oh, yeah. Makes perfect sense.

Initially, she wanted to mend fences with her state party’s establishment, but on Obamacare, and cap n trade, that was impossible, so she supported Joe Miller as a proxy, and the Dems
threw out every rule to put their gal, Leeza, a supporter of the Dream Act, New Start, Dodd Frank et al, that was a proxy for what
they would do two years later,

Remember that Rasmussen poll from a year and a half ago that claimed that 20% of conservatives would have voted for Obama if Palin were the GOP nominee, and an additional 10% weren’t sure who they’d vote for if the choices were Palin and Obama? Some days I wonder if this “bluegill” person wasn’t one of the 20% that Rasmussen polled.

Because, we didn’t lose bad enough in 2012. Let’s really get stomped.
Moesart on November 18, 2012 at 10:18 PM
Sorry, it is called having standards. Bobby Jindal and Scott Walker are enormously more qualified to be president than Sarah Palin will ever be. Sarah Palin wouldn’t even be able to last one week during a primary presidential campaign. Remember Rick Perry and Herman Cain? You thought their meltdowns were embarrassing? Sarah Palin would make those two look like dignified statesmen.
idesign, anyone who googles your name knows that you spend your free time going around to various message boards and websites posting nothing but pro-Sarah Palin comments. We get it. You are a charter member of the personality cult of Sarah Palin. I don’t think I have ever seen you comment on any blog post that was not related to Palin. It is creepy.
Look, Sarah Palin is probably a nice person who is right on many issues, but she is simply not presidential material. Let’s stop pretending like she is, and let’s focus on serious contenders.
bluegill on November 18, 2012 at 10:21 PM
lol. HILARIOUS that some of you are STILL talking about how sarah is supposedly “unelectable.” yet, the same people who said that sarah wasn’t electable are the ones saying that romney was electable. yeah look how that turned out. so i don’t want to hear any more about who is and is not “electable.”
if you only look at her TV interviews, you won’t get a very in-depth analysis, because those interviews are only a few minutes long and she only has so much time to make her point. but she’s done some articles, fb posts, and long speeches that go into more detail on her points. in short interviews, she does a great job of getting straight to the point and explaining things in a way that even low-info voters can understand.
Sachiko on November 18, 2012 at 10:22 PM
Palin fans live in a thicker cocoon than anyone, even the Obama fans.
Yeah. Palin is the answer to everything. If, you are a Democrat and you are looking for an easy campaign.
The Dems were really disappointed she wasn’t the 2012 nom. They were all set up for her already.
Moesart on November 18, 2012 at 10:23 PM
I would certainly vote for Palin in a general election. I just want someone else to be the nominee because I don’t think she would have a chance in a general election. I think we have better choices.

it’s not creepy that idesign spends lots of time trying to correct the false picture that many people have of sarah. we sarah supporters are so tired of everyone having the wrong idea about her, so we have to spend tons of time trying to correct people’s misinterpretations of her.
