White House denies editing “Al Qaeda” out of Benghazi talking points
“[T]he only edit that was made by the White House and also by the State Department was to change the word ‘consulate’ to the word ‘diplomatic facility,’ since the facility in Benghazi was not formally a consulate,” Rhodes told reporters today during a press gaggle. “Other than that we were guided by the points that were provided by the intelligence community.”
Rhodes did not specifically acknowledge that al Qaida’s name was ever purged from the talking points. “I can’t speak to any other edits that may have been made,” he said…
Asked why Rice’s talking points differed from Petraeus’ reported understanding of the assault, Rhodes put the blame back on the CIA.
“I can’t speak to what the process is within the CIA,” he said. “What I can say, though, is those points, and what Susan said is that we indicated we believed extremists were involved. The president himself called it an ‘act of terror,’ right?”

Heh. The frustrating part is that most people will believe that’s what happened. It’s gone from the liberals rewriting history from 100+ years ago to rewriting history from 2 months ago.
We have always been at war with Eastasia.
Timin203 on November 17, 2012 at 3:31 PM
Not really, no, but let’s pretend he did.
If so, then why did he send his people out there to say it wasn’t and act of terror?
forest on November 17, 2012 at 3:31 PM
This is crazy talk. It was identified as terrorism from the beginning, don’t you know?
Timin203 on November 17, 2012 at 3:33 PM
NO one sane believes a word from this WH.

Didn’t it deny that Benghazi was a terrorist attack for 2 weeks?
Didn’t it blame a youtube video?
Yeah, I’m gonna believe ‘em now.

No, actually, he didn’t.
In Obama’s speech from the Rose Garden, before the phrase “acts of terror” ever leaves his lips — in fact, 6 paragraphs before — HE BLAMES THE VIDEO.
In Paragraph One, he gives his salutations. In Two and Three, he specifically, talks about the attack in Benghazi. So, there can be no confusion that what next comes might have been meant to apply to what had happened the day before in Cairo.
“SINCE OUR FOUNDING, THE UNITED STATES HAS BEEN A NATION THAT RESPECTS ALL FAITHS. WE REJECT ALL EFFORTS TO DENIGRATE THE RELIGIOUS BELIEFS OF OTHERS.” (Paragraph 4 of 13)
He also labels what happened in Benghazi in the next sentence:
“But there is absolutely no justification to THIS TYPE OF SENSELESS VIOLENCE. None. The world must stand together to unequivocally reject these brutal acts.” (Paragraph 4 of 13)
Is “this type of senseless violence” synonymous with “terrorism”? It sounds more like the way in which someone might describe a drive-by shooting in Chicago that killed a couple of kids. It certainly doesn’t describe what happened in Benghazi or a type of “workplace violence” involving a US Major in the Army/Soldier of Allah, who is screaming Allahu Akbar while killing 13 and wounding more than 3 dozen.
In Paragraph Eight, he speaks of the original 09.11, the wars in Iraq and Afghanistan, and Arlington Cemetery. In Paragraph Nine, he talks of the sacrifices Americans have made in pursuit and defence of freedom.
Then Paragraph Ten:
“No ACTS OF TERROR will ever shake the resolve of this great nation, alter that character, or eclipse the light of the values that we stand for.” (Paragraph 10 of 13)
The first two lines of Paragraph Four would be irrelevant if he was going to designate the attack “terrorism.”
Also, under Federal law, acts of terrorism, BY DEFINITION, are premeditated. Thus, they cannot be “spontaneous uprisings”…ever.
The bottom line is that Obama, first and specifically, called Benghazi “a type of senseless violence” (like a Chicago drive-by shooting) and blamed it on the video in his Rose Garden statement.

I read this stuff in stunned disbelief. Nobody says WTF? Obama is asked a question during his news conference involving what he did in the Benghazi debacle and says “the investigation is ongoing.” Would have been funny for someone to say—”let me get this clear. There is an investigation to find out what you did?”
Sho is not funny how no one knows anything in this slow walk, obfuscation administration.

White House denies editing “Al Qaeda” out of Benghazi talking points
Then who did it?
No he didn’t! He said he did. Candy Crowley said he did. That doesn’t mean he did. Romney got it right. The election was a huge defeat for speaking the truth and a huge victory for lying.
Paul-Cincy on November 17, 2012 at 4:29 PM
Wait a minute – in the NYT today I read that this was all settled. It is stated as fact by the NYT and by Petraeus that the WH removed the references to AQ, to avoid tipping their hand, whatever that means: a move which I do not ever recall being used before, except in regards to domestic cases where it was used to hide from reality, not hide anything from the enemy.
Now this WH guy says the CIA did it after all?
I just want to give a shout-out to Candy Crowley and all the other media low-lifes that helped put the safety of my family in the hands of the liars of the present adminstration. I don’t know what we’d do without you Candy, but by God I would be more than willing to try.

Heh, they’d fire Petraeus again, if they could.
