Obama commends Egyptian president for trying to “de-escalate” Gaza conflict
“President Obama called Egyptian President Morsi today to discuss the situation in Gaza,” the White House said in a statement. “The President commended Egypt’s efforts to de-escalate the situation and expressed his hope that these efforts would be successful.”
Morsi called for an end to violence in Gaza on Friday, and Egyptian Prime Minister Hisham Qandil visited Gaza and pledged, “Egypt will not hesitate to intensify its efforts and make sacrifices to stop this aggression and achieve a lasting truce,” according to multiple news reports.

Obama, as bad as we only weeks ago would joke he’d be, and people would say, oh, stop it with the hyperbole. Obama is such a friend of Israel! There’s no daylight between the US and Israel! Yeah? Enough daylight to accommodate missiles from Gaza and Egypt as being a response to “aggression” per Morsi.

One brother called another, to hold off destroying Israel, just yet.

“Surreal,” a word which will be so frequently (and justifiably) used over the next four years as to be rendered completely devoid of any meaning whatsoever.

So, we knew that this is what Obama’s voters were voting for — did they?

Maybe those Egyptian rockets happened at 0300 DC time.

He’s calling for a stop to Israeli responding to missile attacks not that Hamas stop firing rockets at Israel.

Breaking news…
Train crash in Egypt kills 49 children.
Latest conspiracy theory will, undoubtedly, be “Israel did it.”

Yea, and probably a similar amount of people died in Syria by the hands of Syrian gov’t forces and rebel groups (whoever they may be). And Iran probably expanded their nuclear weapons program by a brazillian more centrifuges…
As for Mursi, he’s in a difficult spot because he is a desciple of the Muslim Bretheren so for him even to keep diplomatic relations with Israel at peace time is at a huge political cost, and he has to demonstrate that he’s harsher on Israel than Mubarak. But that stunt of sending in his PM to Gaza in the middle of Hamas’s bombing campaign of Israel, that’s just disgusting.

…if you believe White House reports about what little Bammie said to Morsi. I don’t.
They might not be speaking arab to each other, but they agree on more than little Bammie does with Netanyahu.
