New super PAC hopes to give cover to pro-immigration Republicans
Prominent Republicans are launching a new super PAC they hope will help begin repairing the political damage left by years of anti-illegal-immigrant rhetoric that has dominated GOP primaries and alienated crucial Hispanic voters.
The organization, to be called Republicans for Immigration Reform, aims to undermine what organizers call the “extremists” who have pushed party nominees to stake out far-right positions such as opposing a pathway to legalization for millions of illegal workers, students and children. …
Spearheading the group is Carlos Gutierrez, the Cuban American commerce secretary under President George W. Bush. He is joined by Washington lawyer Charlie Spies, co-founder of the pro-Mitt Romney super PAC Restore Our Future, which, illustrating the very trend that the new PAC aims to thwart, aired some tough ads during this year’s primaries accusing Romney’s rivals of supporting “amnesty” and being “too liberal on immigration.” …
Gutierrez, who was a top Romney adviser, gained attention over the weekend when he told Univision anchor Jorge Ramos that the GOP nominee lost to Obama because the party “frightened the American people” during its primaries.

The party of stupid strikes again. For every single Latino voter you think you will gain by your pandering, you will lose ten fold that amount of your base.
Good job, idiots, good job.

Why did HA make fun of the No-Labels party last year?
here is an example of a dozen postings making fun of No labels
http://hotair.com/archives/2010/12/13/new-nonpartisan-no-labels-group-has-its-own-anthem-by-akon-for-some-reason/
Mark McKinnon was mocked and unappreciated back then. Now that HA has embraced the new No-Labels party I think some apologizing is in order.

So what will we end up with – the Democrats, the GOP aka Dem-lite and the Conservatives? Do we finally reach the point where the Conservatives – otherwise dismissed as the Right wing fringe – are without a party and the GOP is left with a party that can never pander enough to sway the voters away from the Democrats?
Perpetual Democratic government on the horizon

In other words, you’re going to take a play out of the dem playbook and lie.

WaPo loves these kinds of stories that pits the base against well-heeled Republicans foolishly undermining the conservative movement through bad policy.
Too bad for them most agree — even among those at Establishment redoubts like National Review(!) — that unchecked immigration has hurt the GOP.
But can you blame Hispanic GOP consultants wanting more illegal Hispanics to become US citizens? Their bread and butter comes from “advising” GOP candidates how to reach these voters even if it means only taking 20-30% of their vote. It’s a huge scam from start to finish.
Punchenko on November 17, 2012 at 1:24 PM
Hispanics & blacks are mostly Democrat. No matter what any Republican says or does.
Why can’t these morons get that into their thick f$%^ing skulls?
Badger40 on November 17, 2012 at 1:24 PM
Sure looks like it we are going to get amnesty come he!! or high water sooner than later?
Why is the world they just can not say ‘get in line like everyone else’ who wants to become a citizen of the US is beyond me!
For the thousands of those who come here and do it the way they should they should be madder than he!! they are thrown under the bus for doing things the ‘legal’ way!

When did Hot Air embrace No Labels? Missed that one…

Immigration reform begins with quotas, border enforcement, and caring for native-born Americans who are unemployed.
Punchenko on November 17, 2012 at 1:34 PM
Own it conservatives.
Super PACs didn’t help you enough to win the election but now the employers who get the most benefit from cheap labor will pour money into getting that cheap labor legally.
Hurray for Citizens United.

Madder than he!! is an understatement of the way I feel about this crap. Under the bus for all of us who played by the rules, but they won’t get our votes if they follow through with this insanity.
JPeterman on November 17, 2012 at 1:37 PM
And Lester cheers what is bad for America. So telling.
CW on November 17, 2012 at 1:40 PM
That was my first thought as well. Republicans for Immigration Reform. Right. Deliberately misleading name; why not be forthright and call yourselves Republicans for Amnesty.

End birthright citizenship!
RedRobin145 on November 17, 2012 at 1:42 PM
I cheer? You freakin’ legislated it.
lester on November 17, 2012 at 1:43 PM
So you are against illegal immigration?
Bcs I in no way support these people coming in & flooding our job market with cheap unskilled labor.
I have an idea, why don’t you support efforts to make it more profitable for businesses to operate so that the desire to hire illegals is less attractive?
Badger40 on November 17, 2012 at 1:48 PM
Read today’s WSJ. Citizens United didn’t do badly by unions in their efforts to bulldoze their agenda on the state levels this year.
Please try to get your story straight.
BuckeyeSam on November 17, 2012 at 1:53 PM
These idiots have zero understanding of the FACTS or HUMAN NATURE.
40% of Hispanics want attrition through enforcement, not amnesty.
54% want amnesty.
Why not have a GOP PAC that appeals to the 40% ?????
Odds are a GOP candidate would be overjoyed with 40% of the “Hispanic vote” — the ones who respect our laws — and welcome them into our fold of conservative values.
fred5678 on November 17, 2012 at 2:07 PM
I’m generally against anything illegal.
I’m assuming you mean taxes. That doesn’t matter. Let’s tax business at zero percent. Next fiscal quarter CEO will have a blast. What about the quarter after? Can we get cheap labor and bring down cost of goods? Yes. Not doing so would be stupid. Business doesn’t have morals or a sense of patriotism. As long as they can get cheaper labor they will do so regardless of whatever other growth incentives.
lester on November 17, 2012 at 2:13 PM
I don’t know too many Republicans who aren’t pro-immigration. I know a lot who are anti-illegal immigration. Headline is a disgrace. That is to be expected from MSM, but shouldn’t be copied and pasted here at Hot Air.
Mark1971 on November 17, 2012 at 2:14 PM
Enforcing Federal Laws.
Amnesty chumps and ‘Path to Citizenship’ monkeys can all take a hike. There are a lot of people waiting patiently in line to for green cards. People with skills who are not guilty of a Federal Crime.
Why not address them first?

Hey guys, pssst, over here:
That Fidel Castro guy? He’s not immortal. In fact, he’s very mortal. If we make 0bama p1ss away his political capital avoiding impeachment on Benghazi, he won’t be able to stop the US contingency plan for Castro’s death. It is highly likely *FIDEL* Castro’s life and reign were guaranteed by the treaty that ended the Cuban Missile Crisis. Fidel would not have been stupid enough to include Raulito in that deal. THIS is why they prop Fidel’s incoherent, pants-cr@apping mechanically stimulated meat up at every opportunity.
If we keep 0bama from being able to stop the contingency plan, this plan will likely end with Cuba in much friendlier hands. Hands which will stop the funding of terrorists and looter parties across Latin America.
How is this relevant to illegal immigration? Think of what happened in Asia when the Communist terrorists and looters lost their Soviet support—Remember when we were told to eat our peas because people were starving in India? Rapidly, this sentiment dates us. Imagine what will happen when the looters and wannabee-Shining Paths across Latin America fold without Cuban support. You can build factories all across Latin America, and you will know they will still be intact and still belong to you ten years from now. What’s going to happen to the crush of illegal aliens in the US when jobs-a-plenty are to be had back home?
We just need to hold out that much longer, and deny 0bama maneuvering room.

Yeah, the funny thing is these guys never lose their jobs after they betray us. The Don’t Ask, Don’t Tell traitors pretty much all got to keep their jobs…
astonerii on November 17, 2012 at 3:00 PM
Right now Dem’s say they want to tax the rich. The reality is that many in the upper middle-class will be caught up in that scheme. The rich can always move, out of the country if they need to. Then the burden will fall on those in the middle and lower middle-class brackets. Once that is exhausted, then comes taxing the lower-class, which will include all those that are illegal.
However, if the Republicans wish to follow this idiotic path, there will be more than just 8% missing voters next election time and I’ll be one of them.
moonsbreath on November 17, 2012 at 3:07 PM
So those of us that want our existing laws enforced are “extremist” now. Wow…
Republicans for
Immigration
Pandering
The party “frightened the American people” during the primaries? Yeah, we’re a real scary bunch, aren’t we. You never know what us hard-working, tax-paying, law-abiding citizens might do.
With advisers like that, no wonder we lost.
