Meet the man who’s shooting down Hamas’s rockets
Idan Yahya, 22, an Iron Dome “gunner” in the Active Air Defense Wing 167, currently holds the record for the number of rockets intercepted: eight.
People in the army describe him variously as a geek and an ace. But the geek who grew up playing Warcraft is now a highly prized soldier on the cutting edge of real war craft. He’s the Israeli army’s top rocket interceptor.
The Iron Dome is a mobile anti-rocket interception system that Israel moves around the country to shoot down the rockets fired at its civilian population centers by armed groups in Gaza and southern Lebanon. Its radar picks up launches and fires interceptor missiles at them if they’re calculated to be heading towards populated centers. The system has become increasingly important as Hamas, Hezbollah and other groups amass surface-to-surface missiles to hit the Israeli home front with, thus bypassing the Israel Defense Force’s overwhelming advantage of concentrated firepower and fighter aircraft. Should Israel attack Iran’s nuclear installations, the expected rocket reprisals from the armed groups on its borders will keep Iron Dome very, very busy.

I thought this was going to be another picture of Obama in the Situation Room

They are going to need lots of people like Idan; Israel is on its own right now since Prezdint Jugears has no need to pander to the Jewish vote anymore.
/What? You think Jugears cares about congressional elections in 2014? He’s set and got his, let the other ‘rats worry about themselves.

This is a huge mistake to play this up.
Everyone will assume that it’s no big deal for Hamas to shoot rockets since they will be shot down.
This will become the new normal.
They need to fire 20 rockets back for every one fired at them.

I pray God will help your aim to get the rockets, Idan!
My heart aches for Israel and talk to God asking for His help for that nation.
God be with you Israel.

Früh übt sich, wer ein Meister werden will.
Early exercises what a master wants to become.
Also, see Obama, in all his ‘glory’.

Rockets from Gaza have been hitting Israel for 13 years. This became the new normal 12 years ago.
This is no one else’s fault than Israel’s. We should have firebombed Gaza years ago, not leaving anything standing or breathing.

And they used to say video games rots your brains when it actually helps the brain develop in hand and eye coordination.

*sigh* Blame the victim.

Read what I wrote. I am an Israeli. I am one of the victims. We are victims because we have allowed ourselves to be. Almost like a battered wife. We would love to NOT be the victims any more. But it won’t help to keep on destroying a few buildings and terrorists. Gaza needs to be erased and Israel doesn’t have the balls to do it.
Regards from Jerusalem.

Why not wipe out Hamas completely this time around?
