“If I don’t see some changes in the next four years, I’m going to consider registering as an Independent”
I know there are many out there, especially in the more conservative sphere, that regard me with disdain. I don’t fit into the traditional Republican box that the wingnuts who have hijacked my party think all Republicans should. For the last four years, I’ve been calling for Republicans to stop concentrating on social issues. I am a single woman in my 20s and that fact alone gave me the perspective that I don’t want to regulate a woman’s right to choice. I am pro-life, but because life is complicated, that choice is between a woman and her idea of a higher power. I believe if Roe vs. Wade were repealed, abortion would still go on. I care more about my economy, national security, and fiscal conservatism than I do about what other woman do with their bodies. It’s not my place, and I don’t believe it’s the government’s place, to make such decisions.
I also don’t believe it’s the government’s role to tell gays and lesbians that they can’t be given the same opportunities in American just because of who they love. I think America needs a better immigration policy and immigrants who were brought here illegally as children shouldn’t be deported. I have said all of these things over the past four years and these issues have been important to the demographics that the Democrats carried on Election Day—single women, minorities, and young people.

YES you all understand it!! EVERYONE has values and morals that they hold dear. it’s just that people disagree on what those values should be. and then they accuse everyone else of “imposing their values on others.” but everyone does that. it’s kind of like the “judgmental” thing- people who accuse others of “judging people”… are usually just as judgmental themselves.

Yeah but, shut up.

She needs to leave the party. She’s dragging down our brand, people — all 800 pounds of her.

It’s sad the idiots like her determine elections.

You will never find a better argument for changing nothing in the GOP than this “threat” from Meghan.
And you got the candidate you wanted: Mitt Romney. And he lost. Congrats.
Because it sure as hell ain’t the unborn kid’s. They get to be the unsuspecting sacrifice.
We’ve banned murder, rape, and theft too. They still go on. It doesn’t mean that we should legalize them.
In other words, you couldn’t care if babies are being butched by the bushel, just so long as you’ve got your monayh!
…And with “advocates” like this, the GOP wonders why voters say in polls they don’t think the party cares about people like them… a mystery indeed…
Stoic Patriot on November 16, 2012 at 3:18 PM
Meghan makes another portentous pronouncement.
CorporatePiggy on November 16, 2012 at 3:18 PM
But then she’d need a new dress.

She probably has a few good points.
Ballast for my truck in the snow? If she would shut up she could keep me warm in the winter—-pigs get cold too.

Previous post should read “butchered,” not butched.
They have the same opportunities to marry someone of the opposite sex and procreate. That they don’t wish to avail themselves of the opportunity is no reason to alter the definition, and by doing so, the purpose of marriage.
…So the solution is to tell the majority of your party, which actually is pro-life rather than your well-I’m-really-pro-choice schtick, and favors traditional marriage, to all go screw and shut up and support moderate candidates?
The party’s been there, and tried that. It was a disaster.

Why “four” years? Why not two years, when the next Congressional midterms are held? Why is McCain setting the benchmark on the Presidency, if not to imbue it with some kind of imperial quality?
To me that’s more telling than her vapid screeching about social issues. She views the President as some kind of philosopher-king, and that alone refutes any claim she has to being any kind of conservative.
JohnTant on November 16, 2012 at 3:24 PM
I finally psychoanalyzed her.
1. She hates Republicans
2. She’s into self-hate
3. Ergo, she is a Republican
faraway on November 16, 2012 at 3:26 PM
Complicated? I guess an unborn baby’s life isn’t too complicated if you’re okay with it being ended.
Rocks on November 16, 2012 at 3:31 PM
Please do. I’d suggest she just go full democrat but then her status as useful idiot would be revoked and she’d stop getting invites to go on TV and bash conservatives. and that would not be good for her career or whatever it is she does in between feedings.

Inanity and irrelevance are both indignant.
Does the family have no shame?

I kind of laugh at you guys on the kool aide chasing your tails like drunk dogs …
Yeah – I have values I hold dear – and I don’t try to force them on others.
See – there’s really no difference between SoCons and Libbies. They are each trying to force their values on the other. So SoCons ban prostitution and marijuana and home distilling and implement “blue laws” wherever they have power. And libbies tax soda and candy where they have power.
Then a SoCon finds that … “What ho! Some lib has taken away one of my rights!” So he crys and moans to high heaven’s about it and responds by taking a right that libbies like.
It’s a three ring circus.
You could just get off that useless ride – but you don’t have the brains to do that and besides, what would your life be like if you didn’t have this great “adventure”? LMFAO!
HondaV65 on November 16, 2012 at 3:41 PM
You mean like being a self-admitted Obama voter and donator to Fauxahontas’ campaign?
I’m going to remind people of this as much as I can. Get used to it.
kim roy on November 16, 2012 at 3:44 PM
Good grief, when people say the Republican party is bought and paid for, I didn’t know they meant MM owned it personally.
This bimbo is how old to be claiming it’s her party? Seems to me some of us “wingnuts” were part of that party while she was still in diapers and throwing tantrums. Oh, wait…

THis is what I wrote on the other board and it bears repeating for you Obama voter:
One problem- I am a socon and I am totally okay with state voters deciding things like marriage, weed and abortion. The problem is the problem with EVERY libertarian position; yall don’t factor in the liberals. And what I mean is, liberals use the judiciary to override states decision. They use fiscal power to pay for all those bad judgement that drug users make. They make us pay for abortions, and take away freedom of association. Get rid of the liberals, and I will stop being a socon..
Three social issues: abortion, gay marriage, and weed.. What socons judicial decision or federal position has been pushed other than DOMA which protects the states that vote the way you say they should? Who exactly is pushing abortion and gay marriage federally? Who are the ones that don’t respect the votes on these issues. Oh yeah, that’s right-LIBERALS.

conservative tarheel on November 16, 2012 at 3:46 PM
Oh, THAT explains the hard-right, uncompromising conservative choices of McCain and Romney in the last couple of elections. She’s right, we should give someone more moderate a chance.
Like maybe a right-leaning Democrat (or did I just divide by zero again?)

Once Meghan becomes a D then she is just another lady parts liberal voter. The R allows her to get on MSNBC and say how extreme her party has become.
Wigglesworth on November 16, 2012 at 4:12 PM
This –>
Exactly. If she was a Democrat she would have been co-hosting tiny parking lot rallies with Sandra Fluke.
BocaJuniors on November 16, 2012 at 4:15 PM
Maybe people wouldn’t hold her in such disdain if she didn’t call Republicans who disagree with her “wingnuts.” As far as I can tell, this self-important nitwit is at odds with the party on abortion, gay marriage and immigration, as if she’s somehow unique in that regard. And I don’t know how she thinks the party has been hijacked by taking the same stances it always has.
Apparently she doesn’t – or can’t- understand that economic collapse will render those issues just about meaningless compared to the real misery and very real national security threats we’ll face when we, and the world descend into financial ruin. In other words, she’s just as shallow and mathematically and economically ignorant as the typical Obama voter.
RadClown on November 16, 2012 at 4:17 PM
I like how she uses the time her dad is in the media spotlight to get some attention.
Meghan McCain and Abby Huntsman should get a reality show where they have to go through life with different last names.
Also, both a perfect examples of “useful idiots” to the left.

You also don’t fit into a size 16 dress.
So you have a unique perspective on life that all of us have had at one time – and have since grown out of.
Of course. So is murder. Let’s legalize it and hope our collective consciences keep us from killing each other.
Which Republicans were concentrating on social issues anyway? I missed that part of the campaign.
Who is denying them opportunity?
If you’re such a brilliant campaign strategist, why did your dear daddy get his @$$ cleaned in 2008?
