Businessman: Jill Kelley asking for $80 million to broker Korea deal “didn’t smell right”
A New York businessman who discussed a multi-billion-dollar Korean business deal with Jill Kelley said the Tampa woman at the center of the Petraeus scandal told him Gen. Petraeus had arranged for her to become an honorary consul for South Korea and promote free trade, and then asked him for $80 million to complete the deal.
“Ms. Kelley made it clear to me that General Petraeus put her in this position, and that’s why she was able to have access to such senior levels [of the Korean government],” said Adam Victor, president and CEO of TransGas Development Systems, “that they were essentially doing a favor for General Petraeus, and that she had access solely because of her relationship with General Petraeus.”
Victor, who met Kelley at the Republican National Convention in Tampa in August, said he was disappointed in Gen. Petraeus for helping Kelley become an honorary consul. “Frankly, I blame Gen. Petraeus for this as a lapse of judgment,” he said. “The general should have known better.”

Not for nothing but geez the lsm is more focused on “whistle blowers” when its against a gop
Otherwise they would be praised for uncovering the issue

Sometimes I think the biggest problem in this world are the people living on it.
Were on God’s green Earth do people like this lady(?) come from ?

Of course the General should have known better, but this Jill Kelly sounds like the ultimate gypsy grifter. Petreaus probably had no idea what kind of crap she was throwing around.

Where.
Coffee, more of needed.

I read there was a breakfast at the WH involved in this story. Jill broke bread at the WH while trying to pull this off.

Please tell me she wasn’t a Republican.

Possible, but unlikely, based on the LSM/MSM actions regarding the story so far.
But the day is young and it is a Friday…

It would have been nice if ABC showed this much interest in the actual Benghazi disaster, but good to see Brian Ross is still hacking it up. I thought he got fired.
Anyway, I’ll keep tabs on this TransGas company. I wonder if they are seeking any federal approvals for more billion dollar coal to gas plants? Can’t hurt to do a little dirty work for the Regime.

I’m so glad that the media is all over this important story about some tacky woman trying to squeeze her social connections for money. This is by far the biggest scandal to rock Washington since, well, since the administration refused to defend our embassies against terrorists and then lied about it and blamed free speech.

Why would a grifter call in the FBI?
Naturally Curly on November 16, 2012 at 8:45 AM
If they never report on her party affiliation the she’s a democrat. We’ll see.

Man this chick is a piece of work.

I hate to guess, but if she was appointed to her honorary whatever by Hillary and is big buds with Patreaus’ liberal wife who works for Obama….

If it’d been 80 billion, nobody would have raised an eyebrow.

“W[h]ere on God’s green Earth do people like this lady(?) come from ?”
Arabia, or points west.
She appears to be a Dem activist who reaches across the aisle….
That two Generals whose work focuses on the Middle East couldn’t see that getting involved with an Arab who lobbies for Muslim countries might lead to trouble is a bit disturbing.

It appears he’s been thinking with “the little general” for quite a while…

I doubt she was political at all. Being non-partisan allows one to sponge off the entire political spectrum, which seems to be what she was doing.
Walter Sobchak on November 16, 2012 at 9:50 AM
Wow – Kelly & Broadwell both sound like shameless opportunists for whom exposure to money & high society has scrambled their brains and morals. I hope they both go to jail.
KS Rex on November 16, 2012 at 10:00 AM
Sure – but you know how this gets played. She could max out to Dems each cycle…but if she split a muffin at Starbucks with her kid’s Den Mother who happens to be registered Republican – it’ll be played up as her being a major donor to the GOP.
Count on it. THis will be spun 8 ways to Sunday.

There’s no hanky-panky here, move on.
Well, when everyone around the big cheese is grabbing every nickle they can, it has just become customary for military big shots to slip in a little payout for themselves.
It sure seems time for some serious recrimination, and it wouldn’t hurt to start right at the top.

Honorary Consuls are granted that title by foreign countries to represent some of that foreign nation’s interest in the host nation. Unpaid (theoretically) and often a native from the country they represent
Kelley is apparently an honorary consul, or the Korean government would have said otherwise. She however, is not a Korean, so what’s in it for her
And what’s in it for the S Korea?
She is a bimbo fixture at the parties of the Generals. Not all bad for military contracts.
Guess I was just stupid. Thought the carpetbaggers went home after Gone with the Wind won the Oscars.
