An ignored lesson of 2012: The Obama media’s enduring power
To some readers it may come as a shock to learn that the left owns and operates all of the most significant news sites such as Yahoo, MSN, Google News, and Wikipedia. The news side of the web is also dominated by the online presence of big-time traditional players such as CNN, the New York Times, ABC, and Politico.
The left dominates the social media scene as well. While it is true that some on the right have been able to use Facebook and Twitter effectively to push messages and spur activism, the ownership and top management of both companies lean hard to the left.
This has very real consequences such as the deep financial and technological collaboration that Facebook freely gave to the Obama presidential campaigns and the continued bias that Twitter demonstrates by directing new users to follow left-wing celebrities and politicians almost to the exclusion of their right-leaning counterparts…
Unfortunately, the right’s power elite has completely failed to understand the import of this situation. Too many conservatives think that because they have Fox News and a handful of major talk shows and websites, somehow the power of the liberal mainstream media is no longer relevant. Because they don’t care what’s in the New York Times they think the Grey Lady has become inconsequential.

And talk shows are next on Obama’s media free speech hit list.

All that plus Obama ran the positive side of his campaign through the entertainment media.

Conservative groups should establish full scholarships to journalism school, for young conservatives. Create a strict underwriting process to ensure (as much as possible) that the applicant really is a conservative. Get conservatives into the schools, and maintain an outreach society among alumni to help them network.
We know the left is going to Journ-o-list forever. We need to create our own networks, and think long term.

This is why it is not going to change. You can’t educate a public that isn’t allowed to hear your message. You can’t hold corrupt officials accountable if you can’t get their crimes in the public square. Rome didn’t die when Caesar crossed the Rubicon, but the Roman Republic did. We have crossed the river and the Republic is no more.

They have beaten us by transforming the culture, a la Gramsci. We must regain the moral high ground by restoring the cultural values that made us great. We can start by using the same tools and media that the left used to take us down.
Rush has been talking about this the last few days. He suggests we start restoring the culture by restoring education. That would be a good start.

The two Newsbusters forgot to include the Associated Press and Reuters. They not only supply slanted articles to local newspapers but to the internet sites as well. The two organizations have been very influential in setting the narrative and driving it home. Conservatives have accepted the fact the media is slanted left and we have assumed it always will be. This is what we have to change.

Finally, someone gets it.

There are plenty of conservative money men who could get the infrastructure going in print media, television, and online.
I agree, but we could also use writers to send to Hollywood and pressure studios and media conglomerates to become more “diverse” in their hiring decisions. There is no excuse for media executives — or academics, for that matter — to be overwhelmingly liberal and hostile to Christianity. Something is going on there that needs to be addressed.

Sue the media, boycott their advertisers, bring in the lawyers, and force sweeping change just like the Left does!

This situation is actually a shock to somebody?

The TV at my gym was on ESPN this evening. I wasn’t really paying much attention to it but then I became aware of a familiar voice, accompanied by a knot in my tummy. No, it can’t be! I go around the corner and look up and there’s Obama chatting with Chris Berman on ESPN! WTF? I have a feeling this is how it’s going to be. He will be everywhere. It’s gonna be bad enough with this country going into a death spiral, let alone with that freaky BO face constantly in our face. Kinda like that Apple Mac ad with the nod to George Orwell’s ’1984′; that ghastly face always staring at you…
