Why aren’t Republicans casting immigration reform as a national security issue?

Weren’t most or all of the 9/11 terrorists here on expired visas?

We have so much to defend? Why can’t the GOP get moderates to start viewing this issue through that lens?

Liberals love to laud how we’re a nation of immigrants.

That’s great, so far as it goes. These days, today’s immigrant is not your grandfather’s or even your father’s immigrant.

After all, if Babu Bhatt can get deported immediately on Seinfeld for not renewing his visa, why isn’t this happening now?
