Obama’s silly, sexist defense of Susan Rice
It’s absurd and chauvinistic for Obama to talk about the woman he thinks should be Secretary of State of the United States as if she needs the big strong man to come to her defense because a couple of Senators are criticizing her.
Believe it or not, Rice isn’t the first potential Cabinet nominee to be opposed by members of Congress up on the Hill. Obama also left out the inconvenient detail that there is another senator who has Rice in the crosshairs: Sen. Kelly Ayotte. But perhaps a female Senator holding Rice accountable didn’t sound menacing enough in the era of the “War on Women.”
But it gets much worse.

Ah, yes, the crowning achievement of the Woman’s Liberation movement has finally arrived and it’s outright paternalism from the President of The United States. If we knew this was what they wanted we would have given in a long time ago.

Wait, you mean Obama’s the sexist one? What about binders full of women?

Ouch
JPeterman on November 15, 2012 at 2:47 PM
It’s about intimidation, Kiki. Obama is playing the race card(with the sexist card mixed in) to shut down any opposition to Susan Rice and by extension Benghazi. It’s the same crap he and the left have been doing since he first started running for President. I hope with several dead Americans and an economy on the verge of collapse, those folks who claim to be on our side will say enough is enough and start to go after this administration. If the Democrat/media complex doesn’t like it, then put them on the spot and force them to defend Obama’s policies and coverups.
Doughboy on November 15, 2012 at 2:49 PM
mo/jarrett sent bho out to put this defense out? Those two tells bho what needs to be done, and bho does it! The race and sexist thing seems to be what got bho elected, other things also, but they will milk this as long as it works?

Kirsten Powers is confused, she must think Obama is a Republican #waronwomen

you couldn’t be less relevant than a fox “liberal.”
sesquipedalian on November 15, 2012 at 2:52 PM
Funny how Obama all the sudden grows a pair. Is this what he means about getting reelected? “If you criticize my administration, you’ll have to answer to me?”. LOL! He got 52% of a little over half of those eligible to vote, and that makes him some kind of god.

Sometimes it’s hard to be a woman
Giving all your love to just one man
You’ll have bad times
And he’ll have good times
Doin things that you don’t understand
But if you love him
You’ll forgive him
Even though he’s hard to understand
And if you love him
Oh, be proud of him
Cause after all he’s just a man
Stand by your man
Give him two arms to cling to
And something warm to come to
when nights are cold and lonely
Stand by your man
And show the world you love him
Keep giving all the love you can
Stand by your man
Stand by your man
And show the world you love him
Keep giving all the love you can
Stand by your man

Pretty dumb to send out Rice in the first place.
Questionable Authority.
None of her business and probably the least knowledgable of his options at the time. She was just reading and had a natural fallback defense of “just iterating what I have been told.”
Obama could have sent out Dr. Chu to do the same thing.

Considering that this was merely a personal attack sans intellectual content, what would lead you to believe that it was an intelligent statement?

The difficulty is, either the Prez has to be forgiven or impeached and either horn looks pretty extremist. (Other issues abstracted from)

i got more: powers is dumb as a rock, this is her desperate cry for recognition. fox is the only place she’ll ever find work at, and even there only because she’s a blonde.

It’s not just Obama Kirsten. It’s your entire party and their pathetic and patronizing sexualization and objectification of woman. They see you as a victim group who needs free birth control and abortions on demand to right whatever wrongs they think have been done to you.
jawkneemusic on November 15, 2012 at 3:10 PM
You voted for him, Kirsten. Do we have to keep giving these Obama lovers houseroom? The libs hate her because she appears on Fox. I would rather have her fade to black…

Evan Thomas said Obama was ‘sort of god‘ four years ago. What makes you think it’s any different now?

You didn’t answer the question. Above your pay grade, was it?
Considering that all you have is insults, and lame ones at that, only a moron would take you seriously. Do you take yourself seriously?

You can safely rely on Kirsten Powers to bring sex into any discussion, any topic, any story.

Rice or Powers ?
I hear similar arguements against both.

Anti-Control on November 15, 2012 at 3:52 PM
Well, that’s rather a sexist argument. Would you say this if it were a man writing? Well???
What people aren’t mentioning is that Obama diminished the status of Ayette by focusing solely on the men and not including her.
So not only is Rice incapable of handling a couple of male senators (care to be a fly on the wall when she’s in a room with Putin?), but Ayotte magically doesn’t count anymore.
Once again, democrats, the party of inclusion and women.
kim roy on November 15, 2012 at 3:57 PM
Except maybe a conservative on MSNBC, since no one watches them. Look at the difference in the ratings and you will see that Fox has a huge audience in comparison. And since Kirsten makes sense occasionally, I am not convinced she is as liberal as you think.
Night Owl on November 15, 2012 at 3:57 PM
What kind of chauvinistic coward hides behind Susan Rice’s skirt while pretending to defend her honor?
petefrt on November 15, 2012 at 4:04 PM
Petraeus never specifically claimed it was a spontaneous demonstration against a film that pictured Mohammed, Susan Rice did.
Where did Susan get that story? And why was she chosen to Parrot it?
Nobody from the state department or anywhere else made any kind of statement about the Egyptian demonstrations and their aggressions against that embassy, but nobody died in Egypt.
The CIA story at the time says this attack was fueled by demonstrations in response to Egyptian demonstrations. CIA never claimed the movie started the Libyan demonstration, Petraeus wasn’t exactly forthcoming about what all the CIA actually knew.
I’m sure CIA (among others) are covering something up in all this, and we all now know the attack was pre-planned and had little to do with the Egyptian demonstration.
Rice is chosen to be a puppet mouth-piece for some other story cooked up for her on behalf of the President, probably because Clinton and Panetta wouldn’t lie about something like that, so someone made up the story and got a dupe like Rice to present it.
This whole web of mis-truths and mis-direction is just making everyone look stupid in that politically-untrustworthy way that only a very powerful politician can do.

Frankly, I don’t get the hate on Kirsten thingee.
She doesn’t get to the bottom of the issue. But she is on the hunt.

filetandrelease on November 15, 2012 at 5:01 PM
Good point. Can’t get less relevant than appearing on the president’s echo chamber when you consider that no one watches it.
Esthier on November 15, 2012 at 5:05 PM
sorry to pop your balloon, but.
second, you seem to have missed the ominous ” around liberal. she’s a liberal like andrew sullivan is a conservative.
the only reason anyone knows she exists because she meets the sole job criterion for women at fox. but obama, he’s so sexist.
sesquipedalian on November 15, 2012 at 5:19 PM
Haha. So three nights in a row, they’re finally doing something they haven’t done since 2001, 11 stinking years, and suddenly you think that’ll pop anyone’s bubble here?
Seriously?
Thanks. That was helpful really.
Esthier on November 15, 2012 at 5:26 PM
please excuse my imprecision. would you consider “not to piss in your punch bowl” more appropriate instead? (i’m afraid “shit in your sandwich” would be excessive.)

Run out of babies to stab in the head with scissors?
If you’ve got nothing to do except leave your liberal droppings here why not fill out a tax donation form and give some extra money to the IRS? You’re a liberal and love to give the government more money … right?
darwin on November 15, 2012 at 5:44 PM
Well cursing does slow down the time it takes for your comment to show up, but I don’t really care personally.
And it’s not so much the phrase you used as the assumptions you’ve made with it. A cable company who has finally edged out the biggest names for three straight days isn’t suddenly more relevant than the one that’s been the biggest name in news for the last decade or so.
Love or hate Fox, it gets viewers. A three day ratings change doesn’t prove they no longer have it. Feel free to gloat if that trend goes into months.
