Nuking the filibuster would be unbelievably stupid for the Democrats. Judicial appointees are literally the only area where they’d make their own lives easier, and the GOP always caves on those anyway. The House GOP is easily more conservative than the Senate GOP, so its not like McConnell’s people in the Senate are Reid’s biggest obstacle to passing legislation.

You can filibuster and persuade others the righteousness of your argument or you can vote against cloture and be accused of obstruction and be demonized by the media. I think the correct choice is to bring back the Filibuster movies have been made about.

Why do we keep caring what these amoral black abysses passing for human beings say? Their guiding principle in life is “do and say whatever it takes to gain, maintain, or increase power” over everyone else. Anything they say is simply an attempt to do that and nothing more. They don’t care about abuse of power. They just care about not having power.

If the Dems think they should get freedom to shove whatever they want down the Senate pipeline without any consideration/control via eliminating the filabuster they really should stop whining about the GOP controlling the House. Wed really endup with gridlock because the House would be the only placethe GOP could influence things.

That argument didn’t phase the Dems one bit when Pelosi was ramming monster bills through the House (Stimulus, Obamacare, Carbon credits, etc.) without even giving the other side a chance to read what was being voted on.
