Poll: Fewer Americans now support ObamaCare repeal
A record low number of American voters want to see the Affordable Care Act – Obamacare – repealed, according to a new post-election poll conducted by the Kaiser Family Foundation.
Obamacare was not the top issue driving American to vote, although nearly seven in 10 Americans cited it as a “major factor” in their decision choosing between the candidates, according to Kaiser. …
But only 33 percent of Americans now want to see the law repealed. Romney had pledged to repeal the law and replace it with new policy. 43 percent of Americans view the law favorably and 39 percent view it unfavorably, according to the poll.

I recall Rush stating before it passed that there’s never been a social program enacted that was later repealed.
Face reality people: we lost this battle two years ago on that weekend when The Nebraska Kickback and The Louisiana Purchase happened. Remember Neville Stupak waving his abortion waver in the wind that he got from Dear Leader? Justice Roberts was the door slam.

Open enrollment for 2013 is occuring in many workplaces now. Wait til people start seeing how much their premiums have jumped. My husbands employer absorbs ALOT and we still went up $2800 for a family of four.

I am loving OCare – our insurance company explained that we get all this free preventative care which is wonderful. And they have to cover pre-existing conditions. And you can keep you adult children on your policy.
Next year my policy premium goes up 28%.

The best part about this slow-motion debacle known as ObamaCare will be when the Dems inevitably blame the “free market,” “greedy doctors,” “big Pharma,” and “evil insurance companies” for all of the problems.
Never mind that the health insurance industry was already one of the most over-regulated in the country (which caused most of the problems to begin with) and that ObamaCare froze and doubled-down on this, or that Pharma backed ObamaCare, etc.

Everyone thought the Dems were stupid when they risked re-election to stick it us with Obamacare. They were willing to do it because they know this was the Trojan horse to get us over the tipping point and put us into an irreversible course to an european-style social democracy. They also knew the majority would eventually accept it.

My premium went up more than ever for 2013, and the materials made sure to point out it was due to Obamacare. People who still can’t see the effects of Obamacare are brainless.

Two factors to consider:
1) Obama just got reelected, so he and his policies will get a temporary boost in the polls. That happens with everyone, even Dubya.
2) The real pain of Obamacare hasn’t been felt yet. Just wait til the mass layoffs and cutbacks from employers hit along with all the negative aspects of the law which don’t fully go into effect until 2014.
Let’s see how popular Obamacare is during the 2014 midterms. I’ll wager right now that no Democrat outside of the bluest of districts will dare mention it on the campaign trail.

Two more factors to consider:
1) Socialized healthcare, once in place, has NEVER been removed in any country, ever.
2) Depending on our feckless Congress is folly. The blue bloods have shut down the Tea Party and they stand ready to work with their Democrat
friendscolleagues across the aisle. We could have 300 R’s in Congress and they wouldn’t do crap about O’Care.Face it, it’s over.

We’re a little bit different, socially and psychologically, than our European counterparts.
We’ll “leave the reservation” for a bit, IMO, but I think we’ll end up coming back and destroying this law.
Right now our only option is having states put up a fight.

Side note… our plan which is more or less a company funded plan ( not really a insurance company … all is done via the company itself because we have thousands of employee’s )has gone up from the passage point. We gone from paying 35 bucks a week with most drugs covered family plan to seeing those cost to go up to 75 a week! This is over the last 3 dang years! O and the drugs, yeah… you better be dieing in order to get the “non approved” drugs. Even then expect to pay at least 50% of he cost.

Nah. You got to remember that most people get their info from left leaning media. My dad reads the paper and watches the news. He was pretty shocked to find out about that F&F thing. The way he found out was riding with me and I had Rush on.
The media doesn’t have to repeat anything. All they have to do is not report something and they are very good at that.

As far as I can see the libs and dems are European. It’s the conservatives that are less European. You hardly ever see a conservative carry on about the greatness of Europe but every liberal I know thinks that Europe is so much more civilized, tolerant and sophisticated than America. Heck, even Reid wishes we had a parliamentary system more like Europe.

There are a lot of nevers in politics right up until something ‘unprecedented’ happens.
I think ‘social programs never being repealed’ is one of those sacred cows.
It’ll be tough. It might take a while. The party that finally does it might be crucified. But it can be done.
What is important is to have the states do everything in their power to delay it and limit it until we can kill it off entirely. If your state government leans even slightly in the direction of personal liberty, keep pushing them to block implementation.
Make sure friends and family hear repeatedly all the stupid things in the law. Heck, even if you’re the only person that is saying how bad it is, take comfort in the fact that psychologists have shown that a single person repeating something over and over again is remembered as a chorus of people saying it. The only reason this bill is any more popular is that people aren’t on the news hammering it every day.

I wish I could agree with you, but I can’t. Virginia is capitulating, and weren’t they one of the states that filed suit to stop this? There’s no political will to stop this from the R’s. I think, deep down, many of us saw the writing on the wall when the monstrosity first passed.
