Gay-rights groups push Obama for executive order on discrimination by contractors
Buoyed by the approval of same-sex marriage in several states on Election Day, lobbyists for gay rights groups plan to prod the president to sign an executive order that would ban discrimination by federal contractors against gay and transgendered people.
The White House shelved the executive order earlier this year, but it remains a top priority for gay rights groups. They argue that if Obama signs the order it could encourage Capitol Hill to pass broader legislation that would extend a similar ban to employers…
“The push is to have them do it sooner instead of later,” Herwitt said. “I do think it helps pave the way for a fully inclusive [Employment Non-Discrimination Act]. … It is the way that the government puts its imprimatur on what’s important and makes a difference in people’s lives. The president would be saying it’s important not to discriminate.”

I wish we could get him to sign one for white guys over 50 who can’t find work. Like my husband. We gave up years ago and just started a business out of our home. He is the shipping dept.
djl130 on November 12, 2012 at 8:55 AM
He might as well. The Constitution only works for a moral and religious people. We obviously aren’t a nation that that looks to God anymore.

Well, government is certainly where I look to figure out what’s important…

Why not just make it a criminal offense to hire white Christian males? That way only victims can be hired.
darwin on November 12, 2012 at 9:06 AM
another reason why the right is in FAIL- the Constitution is the rule of Law therefore it concerns itself w/morality. it was based primarily on pagan english common law not the bible. it works beautifully by allowing everyone their freedom of conscience to believe in god or not. it can be argued that many of the founders were not technically capital C christians- most make the argument themselves in their private papers.
just because people are gay doesn’t mean they are not moral nor does it mean that they are not religious. we dont all have to be your religion to believe in god and live by the constitution- which was the whole bloody point OF the constitution and bill of rights. if everyone has to worship your god to be an american than you are as guilty as the left of trashing the founding documents of this country.
the problem now is that roughly half the people here have abandoned the idea that they want to be free. period. they voted for slavery. let them have it.
and barry could care less about the gays and their rights now. he doesn’t need any one. it is fools and idiots who thing king barry lord of NPD has any reason to care about any group or the constitution.

I don’t think your white homosexuals are gonna fare very well in the blue half of America once the split comes. Something tells me they will be the red headed step child of that nation. Actually, all white liberals will be what’s on the menu. Best we keep a list of them now so that we can keep them out of our half after the split.

I’m not following. What does forcing contractors to hire victim groups have to do with God?
darwin on November 12, 2012 at 9:17 AM
OKay, help me out here. How do we know? A contractor bids for a job or a contract employee interviews for a position. How do I know they are gay? If I can’t tell and reject that person or firm am I screwed because I didn’t hire the gay?
Frank Enstine on November 12, 2012 at 9:24 AM
Are white heterosexual christian males the only people you can legally discriminate against? I think white heterosexual christian males need their own Israel. Hopefully we can get some women to come over.

There will have to be a box to check on the application for sexual orientation. They can’t act against you in court unless it’s on the paper.
Buddahpundit on November 12, 2012 at 9:32 AM
Yes. They are to be portrayed in commercials as either A. STUPID
B. GREEDY or C. Ineffectual WIMPS.
They are never to be shown as strong fathers (unless they wear tutus and have tea parties) or good boyfriends. They also have NO CLUE how to invest their money (unless they are metro sexuals with spike hair and dark rim glasses. not sure of sexuality.) But flat up males, like my husband, are only to be denigrated and made fun of.

There is no end to the demands. And if they think they’ve gotten close to the end of their demands, the more militant will turn to revenge type legislations and executive orders against those they think have wronged them.

CNN Exit Poll
Straight Voters (95%) – Obama (49%) / Romney (49%)
LGBT Voters (5%) – Obama (76%) / Romney (22%)
He might as well thank them for the election.

Give it time.
It’s the next logical step here. At some point, the Bible is going to be directly targeted as a book of hate while at the same time the Koran and Islam will be celebrated. It’s already happening.

In other news, demographers note a sudden upsurge of gay men in the construction trades.
2ndMAW68 on November 12, 2012 at 9:59 AM
Well, gays won’t fare very well. Perhaps they should take the time to think about the consequences of their demands.
darwin on November 12, 2012 at 10:02 AM
Psssst, other than self-report, how do you know someone is gay, if you are not personally sleeping with them?
Sekhmet on November 12, 2012 at 10:04 AM
Hey… who needs Congress anymore? Just do everything by executive order. Now, let us bow to King Obama!
Axion on November 12, 2012 at 10:06 AM
And here’s that slippery slope we “homophobes” keep talking about. This exhibit ONE that homosexuals don’t just want to be left alone and have people stay out of their bedroom.
Exactly which is why it is very dangerous giving someone Constitutional protections on something that is self-reporting. Anyone can say they are gay- any disgruntled worker etc.

LOL!
Border Official: Hmmm… Matthews, Matthews, Matthews. Ah, yes — Christopher Matthews. Yes, says here you were a former “progressive commentator”.
Chris Matthews: C’mon, man. Please! You got to let me in there! It’s awful and inhumane on the other side! Look, I can be a village fool or something — you know, like wear funny clothes and make people laugh with the outrageous things I say. Look, I’ll do anything. I haven’t eaten a real meal in two years and I’m desperate! I’ve changed, dammit! I’VE CHANGED!!
Border Official: Well, I guess I could show some compassion and we can have you scrub floors somewhere.
Chris Matthews: Thank you! Thank you so much! Hey… what is that you’re eating?
Border Official: A jelly-filled doughnut. It’s quite delicious.
Chris Matthews: They should ban those things, you know. That sugar can kill people.
Border Official: Guards, take Mr. Matthews across the line and into the custody of Blue State authorities.
Chris Matthews: NO! NO! NOOOOO! I DIDN’T MEAN IT! I DIDN’T MEAN IT!

God begs to differ.
Romans 1:26-27: “For this cause God gave them up unto vile affections: for even their women did change the natural use into that which is against nature: And likewise also the men, leaving the natural use of the woman, burned in their lust one toward another; men with men working that which is unseemly, and receiving in themselves that recompence [sic] of their error which was meet.”

On the other hand, we can now say the same about claiming Native American status.
slickwillie2001 on November 12, 2012 at 10:59 AM
This is fine, no discrimination, on one condition, no one gets a huge legal settlement, and no trial lawyer gets rich on the suffering of poor and and trans…and also BI sexuals, who are always left out.
The reward for making a fuss and a law suit…which is what this is about, making money on a lawsuit, should be, if someone discriminated against you, your name goes to the top of the list for next time…and we can’t promise a next job, but if there is one, you get to interview.
And, being annoying can be a legitimate reason for the employer to skip any person, no matter what kind of sex they enjoy at home. Please don’t be enjoying it in the workplace.

This is an urgent priority.
There are literally thousands of government contractors with explicit prohibitions of gayness in their Code of Conduct.
We need a Gayness Czar – I nominate Tom Cruise.
