A turn towards the 1930s in Europe?
In scenes not seen in Europe since the long night of the Thirties, almost every day is bringing new evidence that, in the shattered ruins of the Greek dream, the forces of xenophobia are gathering strength.
In June’s general election, the neo-Nazi Golden Dawn party won 18 seats. And earlier this month, uniformed party thugs attacked a theatre in Athens which was staging a show which depicted Jesus and the Apostles as gay men in Texas…
Just look at the situation in Italy. Last November, as its economy imploded, the crooked and inept Silvio Berlusconi was forced out of office and replaced with an unelected, technocratic government answerable to Brussels and Berlin.
From any democratic standpoint, that was pretty bad. What is worse, though, is that despite the appalling revelations about Mr Berlusconi’s grotesque sexual depravity, and despite the fact that he has only just been found guilty of fraud and tax evasion, he is now threatening to bring down the government and launch a new bid for office.

It’s almost as though you can learn from history or something.

If you’re Jewish, get the hell out of Europe. And if you want to come here, learn Spanish and sneak across the border.
Rixon on November 12, 2012 at 5:41 PM
Really? You should try that show in Texas some time…

Don’t worry, Obama will go do a photo-op in a bomber jacket and get this fixed.

Considering Spain is fracturing at the seems with the various states looking to secede, yes.

Importing millions of Semitic (AKA Arab) anti-semites (who are theologically against their cousins the Semitic Jews) may have spurred this crazy agenda.

Libs/Euros don’t actually ever actually do these things in places where they have to answer for their actions.
CycloneCDB on November 12, 2012 at 5:47 PM
Watch for this to spread to Spain and France.

As long as they don’t start committing genocide, why should we care if they turn to fascism? Italian Fascism wasn’t racialist until they became puppets of Hitler. I’d rather have a fascist europe than a self-hating one.
The Golden Dawn is not that popular, but it’s popularity stems from the fact that something like 90% of illegal immigrants going to the EU passes through Greece… Greece should be given the tools to deal with that problem.

Ah Socialism . . .
They come to you with “we want to make it fair.”
When they really mean “we want even more power concentrated with us.”
As somebody else on this site once pointed out, with Socialism the elites draw a line in the sand. All wealth now flow ONLY to their side of the line, while everybody else gets equally poor . . . But they have “free” healthcare right?

I’m looking forward to movie sequel, Death of a President 2, starring so-and-so as Barack Obama. I’m sure it will be as warmly received among the tolerant left as the original about Bush.

Christians are already being persecuted in the supposedly free and democratic states of Canada, Great Britain, Sweden, etc…

I think it’s about God-blessed time for some nationalism to return to European nations. The entire EU was had sinister echoes of one-world-government at worst, and at best was libtard “everyone hold hands and sing in harmony together” taken to the extreme. And if the various so-called “Nazi” parties stick to within their own borders we shouldn’t interfere with the reality check.
IMO, people have tried to span irresolvable racial and ethnic and ideological divides with bridges made of painted cardboard. Those bridges are about to collapse.

The seeds of WWIII are now sprouting..

My mother, a survivor of the death camps, used to tell me that America should have left Europe in ruins and let the Soviets take it all.
How right she was. I miss her every day but am glad that she is not alive to see this.

Too bad most people’s historical perspective only goes back 10 – 20 years….

Joe Mama’s right. Throw in Iran’s soon to be had nukes, and it just gets bleaker.

hmm, this is a weird statement considering that most fascist regimes started off “democratically.”
also, no articles about how everything before this was sorta similar to the Red Revolution in Russia?

Fascism or National Socialism – same thing in the end.
Chip on November 12, 2012 at 6:06 PM
Out of <11 million population of Greece, Arabs don't even reach 10000. In fact if you add Greek (94%) and Albanians (5%) you have 1% left who are mostly European immigrants.
Same thing goes for Italy. 96% are European ethnicity. The rest are all the other races from around the world.
The closest countries in Europe to fascism are the most racially homogenous and the most hostile towards immigrants, of any ethnic origin.
Maybe you should leave the conservative cocoon from time to time.
lester on November 12, 2012 at 6:06 PM
No way. Every time Socialism’s been tried in the past, the same thing has always happened.
Ergo, it can’t possibly happen again. Because that would prove all the morons are wrong — and that wouldn’t make them feel good about themselves.
logis on November 12, 2012 at 6:08 PM
Oh, I’m sure Putin’s readying an operation to “restore rights” to those Russian citizens living in former Soviet satellites. What’s the Russian word for blitzkrieg?

If challenging unelected Eurocrats, the welfare state, and Islamic replacement is deemed fascist and racist, only fascists and racists will challenge unelected Eurocrats, the welfare state, and Islamic replacement.

Wrong. They have big problems with illegals in Greece.

I disagree… Socialism can work in societies with extremely high amounts of social capital… which occurs mostly in mono-racial societies… in the words of Oswald Spengler, “Money is overthrown and abolished by blood”.

Let’s see…
- A massive influx of immigrants from an alien culture brought about by the elites without the permission of the nation’s citizens.
- Economic devastation.
- The rise of violent extremists defending the nation’s people because the elites flatly don’t care.
- Accusations of racism and fascism against anyone who complains about the masses of immigrants and economic problems.
Hmmm…Why does most of this sound so familiar?
Django on November 12, 2012 at 6:20 PM
It absolutely can. But the fact that such societies just happen be in nations that have less population than some American states seems to be lost on liberals…nevermind what they have to do in order to STAY lily-white and thus most productive.
(hint: Affirmative action doesn’t exist in those places)

I wish journalists would stop calling Nazis “far-right” and “extreme-right”. Nazi is short for National Socialists. The right believes in free markets and capitalism. Nazi’s believe in firm government control of everything in order to force out non-Greek/Italian/Whatever nationality. Nazism, facism are nothing more than intensely nationalistic communism.
George Soros loved going out with his traitorous Jewish dad and gathering up the belongings of those sent to die under Hitler. Now his dream of doing that again is starting to come true!

They did try it in Texas. Thugs shut it down in Texas too.

I was talking about Europe, not simply Greece.
They see what is happening in Germany, Denmark, Holland, Sweden, Norway, France, et al, with the “guest workers”, “economic migrants”, “refugees”, “asylum seekers”, etc., etc.
Wake up, Snarkster.
