Report: Key Iranian nuke center may now be impervious to conventional bombing
According to The Times, western defense experts discovered Iran’s Fordow nuclear site is hidden deeper underground than previously estimated and therefore safe from conventional airstrikes.
The Times report, quoting Western defense experts, added that due to the “upgraded” progress of Iranian enrichment, Israel has to change their tactics to prevent a loss of up to 20% of its planes from a conventional air strike.
Defense experts claim Israel have two options, to either deploy special forces on the ground, or use ballistic missiles with tactical nuclear warheads, The Times reported.

No sweat. Biden said at the debate and the moderator agreed that we have plenty of time.

EMP airbursts over Iran’s electrical grid. The country collapses within a few weeks.

I guess we did need those bunker busting mini-nukes.

After the election.

This smells like a story driven by the facts on the ground that no one is wiling to attack Iran now. And they are looking for a good reason to excuse their position.

Kind of a strange approach just to protect uranium intended to be used in medical isotopes.
Those crazy Iranians…..

does anyone care?

52% of Americans wonder if they can get some free sh!t from the iranians, if so , they want to vote for the iranians.
VegasRick on November 11, 2012 at 12:55 PM
For the sake of discussion; if Israel strikes these sites with conventional bunker-buster weapons successfully they will create a radioactive mess.
If Israel strikes these sites with bunker buster weapons with small nuclear warheads they will create a radioactive mess but be more certain of success.
Post-attack, if Israel denies the use of nuclear weapons, will anyone that matters know for certain what happened?

Sooner or later.

Why doesn’t The Times cite their sources? Is it too much to ask that if billions of tax payer dollars and the the lives and limbs of the son’s and daughters of US citizens be committed to initiating a murderous war against Iranians that we would at least have some credible intelligence?

Actually I am going to bookmark –
52% of Americans wonder if they can get some free sh!t from the ________, if so , they want to vote for the _________.

Has no one been paying attention?
This same headline has been used every few months for the last two years.
LegendHasIt on November 11, 2012 at 12:59 PM
I am pretty sure that they have noticed but the warmongers here are desperate to find any excuse they can so that they can have the war that they so desperately want. Therefore, all manufactured stories about Iran are fit to print.
antifederalist on November 11, 2012 at 1:01 PM
I take it you’ve never read about the 2218 Persian Invasion of America?
DarkCurrent on November 11, 2012 at 1:03 PM
Obama will never attack Iran. He is intent on retreating from Iraq, Afghanistan, and disarming the US as much as possible, now that he has “flexibility.”
He needs the “peace dividend” of cutting back on the military to pay for more “free stuff.”
Wethal on November 11, 2012 at 1:03 PM
Even the 12th Iman ain’t impervious to nuclear fission.
catmman on November 11, 2012 at 1:05 PM
As much as I dislike Obama’s policies, this is why I am glad he defeated Mitt. However, it remains to be seen if Obama will attack Iran. I think if (more like when) we have 2 more years of his failed policies a war with Iran will provide a convenient distraction from failed policies at home.

Can’t wait to murder some Iranians, can you?

Right before the mid-terms, I agree.

Iran is going to acquire nuclear weapons. Short of an invasion, or nuclear strikes, that should be assumed as a given.
The question then becomes: How do you deal with a nuclear Iran?
JohnGalt23 on November 11, 2012 at 1:40 PM
The question is…
Will it be New York City, Chicago or Los Angeles that gets the first nuke?
All blue, so …..

As a member of the Duck and Cover generation, I thought they would have been flying by this point in my life, and we’ve been living on borrowed time. I am grateful for all those extra years, especially after the Berlin Wall fell when it seemed like everything was hunky-dory for a while.
vityas on November 11, 2012 at 1:46 PM
Nuked by whom? Iran has neither a nuclear weapon nor a delivery system (ICBM) that can hit NYC, Chicago or LA.
antifederalist on November 11, 2012 at 1:53 PM
Maybe, maybe not. We don’t know. Based on the National Intelligence Estimate Iran stopped their nuclear weapons program in 2003 and they haven’t made the decision to pursue nuclear weapons. As of yet, there haven’t been any news releases reporting that Iran has enriched beyond the limits of the Non-Proliferation Treaty. As for how we are to deal with them, I would suggest that we deal with them like we deal with Pakistan. They are an Islamist country that very well may have provided safe haven for Osama Bin Laden. And yet, they have not wiped any country off the face of the earth.

A majority of Americans are now culpable in this debacle and deserve whatever fate the radical Muslim world has waiting for them. The rest of us are just along for the ride now.
MikeA on November 11, 2012 at 2:01 PM
In case you haven’t noticed, there have been no 9-11s since Obama was inaugurated.
antifederalist on November 11, 2012 at 2:04 PM
Chicago might be a stretch, but LA and NYC are easy — container ship. They nuke the harbor before the ship is searched, and we loose that port for a few generations (look up Baker at Bikini).
Count to 10 on November 11, 2012 at 2:18 PM
So in other words, you have no facts to offer. Only conspiracy theories as to how Iran might nuke LA or NYC.
antifederalist on November 11, 2012 at 2:24 PM
I used to but after election day? Nope. This is exactly what the majority voted for and they are going to get it good and hard with the rest of us.
Is there a spaceship I can take to the moon so I can watch this clusterfark from a safe distance?
jnelchef on November 11, 2012 at 3:15 PM
Maybe Jewish newspapers in Jerusalem are more concerned with what their military is planning than they are about crazy people here. Where in that article did you see one word about U.S. citizens invading Iran?
xblade on November 11, 2012 at 3:18 PM
“might” = “We don’t know.” ; where “=” means exactly equal.
In case that isn’t obvious.
Difficultas_Est_Imperium on November 11, 2012 at 3:19 PM
You must be joking.

Somehow, I imagine you’re the type that may have said the same about the possibility of 19 men killing nearly 3000 with box cutters.
Frogmorton on November 11, 2012 at 3:26 PM
It won’t be an old fashioned “blast and burn” nuke, it will be an EMP airburst in the middle of the country that takes out the electrical grid of the entire continental US.

Ambassador Stephens begs to differ. Oh wait, no he doesn’t. He’s dead.
Well, if the NIE said this, it’s probably true. They’re never wrong about stuff like WMDs or nuclear weapons programs, lol.
