CBS Chicago
Report: Jesse Jackson Jr negotiating plea deal that would end his congressional career
The tentative deal includes:
–Jackson resigning for health reasons.
–His pleading guilty to charges involving misuse of campaign funds.
–The congressman’s repayment of any contributions that were converted to personal use, such as home furnishings, improper travel or gifts.
At least some jail time would appear to be inevitable for Jackson, the son of civil-rights icon Rev. Jesse Jackson Sr. and spouse of Chicago 7th Ward Ald. Sandi Jackson.

Dingbat63 on November 11, 2012 at 2:17 PM
I am sure Jesse Jackson Sr. would be happy to “temporarily” take his son’s seat.

Some cities will never, ever learn.

What kind of fools voted for him?
Wait…
Schadenfreude on November 11, 2012 at 2:23 PM
He just got re-elected. He should tell them to stuff it. His voters don’t care, why should anyone else? He won his seat, dammit, and this is AMERICA!!!

Rev. Jackson Senior was caught on tape threatening to do what again to Obama?

It’s bs for them to allow them to keep their pension. If it were joe slob who committed a crime, they would guaranteed have their pension yanked.
Blake on November 11, 2012 at 2:25 PM
The same fools that gave us Barry.
Illinidiva on November 11, 2012 at 2:25 PM
They are always coy about saying how much he stole. I know it way over $40k.
Blake on November 11, 2012 at 2:27 PM
Maybe bho will pardon him so he has NO jail time?

letget on November 11, 2012 at 2:32 PM
ehhh, he can run again… from jail this time.
faraway on November 11, 2012 at 2:35 PM
I suppose the machine will choose someone to run who will get 113% of the vote.
A House seat, IIRC, can’t be filled by the governor.
Wethal on November 11, 2012 at 2:36 PM
Big deal. They’ll just replace him with the next black loudmouth.
Another Alcee Hastings or that multiple felon just elected in Detroit.
Lanceman on November 11, 2012 at 2:38 PM
This guy got re-elected. Its things like this that make me want to give on this country.
The democrats will vote for their ‘guy’ no matter how stupid or corrupt. (Elizabeth Warren?)
LilyBart on November 11, 2012 at 2:41 PM
He could get impeached by the House and kicked out.
Don’t know if it needs more htan a simple majority or not, but that would be something Boehner might allow, just to let the GOP caucus let off some steam.

Amerika is now the land of the ‘free’ morons.
Schadenfreude on November 11, 2012 at 2:43 PM
Jesse’s wife Sandi is alderman for the 7th Ward in Chicago, which just happens to also be in her husband’s congressional district. Chicago politics being what it is, I fully expect her to be elected to fill out the rest of JJJ’s term.

The Constitution — the Rule of Law.
Obama — Who you Know:
Crony Capitalism, bailouts, executive orders, class warfare, race-baiting, identity politics, graft, corruption, the Chicago Way.

So, what black face has been pre-selected to replace him?
Pork-Chop on November 11, 2012 at 2:56 PM
He got re-elected . . . . FROM A MENTAL INSTITUTION!!!!!!
This country is beyond helping.
thphilli on November 11, 2012 at 2:57 PM
Part of this plea bargain should involve a Nobel Peace Prize.
CorporatePiggy on November 11, 2012 at 2:58 PM

Part of the money stolen was used to redecorate the house she lived in & owned with her husband. She belongs in the clink with him.
Blake on November 11, 2012 at 3:02 PM
There will be a seat warmer and he will be back as in time for the election of congressman for life in 2014. They might even work so that he does not have to resign for the charges but health problems and if he wants he can serve both in jail and in congress at the same time.
tjexcite on November 11, 2012 at 3:10 PM
Hmm…Dan Rostenkowski, Mel Reynolds, Rod Blagojevich… yeah, I guess we’re about due for another Chicago congressman to go to jail.
(Yes, Blago was in Congress before he became Governor.)
JimLennon on November 11, 2012 at 3:20 PM
I never knew ‘bi-polar’ was a euphemism for ‘crook’.
trigon on November 11, 2012 at 3:27 PM
Never served in congress, but I’d like to add Blago’s predecessor Gov. George Homer Ryan, who recently qualified for a prison work-release.

Heeey … remember in 06 when one Republican GOP rep was a dirt bag and the media fell all over themselves “prior” to the elektion to paint the entire GOP as covering for him.
If I say “Culture of Corruption” am I a racist?

Syria and Israel now trading rounds.

I just think this is great. I can’t wait watch his “perp walk”. I can’t wait to see cuffs on him.
Voter from WA State on November 11, 2012 at 4:14 PM
I am not sure a convicted felon who lost his voting rights is someone even the dumbest people want in Congress.
Voter from WA State on November 11, 2012 at 4:16 PM
Maybe not the Congress. But can you say, Marion Barry?
hawkdriver on November 11, 2012 at 4:25 PM
Yeah. Sure he would. Let off some steam. Go after the black guy named Jesse Jackson. Yeah. Boehner will be all over that. Right after he votes for amnesty.
You guys are gonna wake up soon, right?
