Liberal schadenfreude is out of control
But I began to notice, both in media coverage and in social media networks, that Obama supporters were not just thrilled that our guy won—folks were insanely, morbidly happy that all Republicans were miserable. And they weren’t just picking on easy and legitimate punching bags like Karl Rove and Donald Trump. Lindy West of Jezebel wrote a blog post entitled “My Ten Favorite Kinds of Right Wing Temper Tantrums” in which she proudly declared, “I am just 99 percent completely fucking delighted by every single weepy right-wing temper tantrum. I can’t stop hate-reading. I can’t stop.” A blogger for The Daily Kos wrote, “So please know, my fervid conservative friends, that I am temporarily suspending the empathic sensibility that generally informs most of us on the left. I am not laughing with you, in other words, since you seem capable of neither doubt nor self-deprecation. I am laughing at you. You are welcome to join me.” Someone created a Tumblr called White People Mourning Romney. It isn’t particularly interesting or clever, unless you just like photos of your fellow Americans crying or looking disappointed, but people sent in dozens of submissions. …
If there is one thing in this whole country that liberals and conservatives can agree on, it’s that we live in a deeply polarized, angry, divided nation. Social media seems to encourage blasting our basest feelings to everyone we know, and it’s caused some of us to totally mute our human sense of empathy. If I had logged into 2012-style Facebook and Twitter at the depths of my own political despair in 2004, I can only imagine how painful it would have been to be see strangers and friends alike basking in my pain. Frankly, I think it would have made it even harder for me to let go of my political wounds and move on. It would have just made me that much angrier.

Impossible. Obama will simply say Republicans are holding back progress and are trying to protect rich people. Better to let Obama have whatever he wants so we may progress into utopia.

No hate like liberal hate.
As usual.

It’s horrible to say but I am going to enjoy the gnashing of teeth that is going to come from the liberals starting with increased health care costs.
They didn’t bother to do the research or they chose to ignore it and voted accordingly.
Elections have consequences. Enjoy your vote.
gophergirl on November 10, 2012 at 12:21 PM
Give them what they want. Good and hard. Give it to them. And I will not even respond to ue anymore as he now expects us to support obambi just because (most of) 52% of the country are a bunch of lazy takers.
VegasRick on November 10, 2012 at 12:21 PM
We will see how much they gloat at the eventual Obama impeachment vote.
If not Benghazi (probably not), then it will be something else. This is the Chicago outfit after all.

And don’t tell anyone but helping to clean up an economic mess and stave off collapse is why deep blue states elect Republican Governors for a term or two every so often. Yeah, bipartisanship. Pfffftttt….

I continue to wish you improved health and that you get well soon.
On the “starge the looters”, and I don’t mean the robbers, I mean the looters from Ayn Rand, I stand firm. I will actively do it and encourage huge numbers of high-level producers to deprive your Utopian dream of funding. It is happening all around and it’s just day 4. Trust that this will proceed apace, every day, for 4 years, at a minimum. The reverse would have happened with a different Tues. result.
Actions have consequences, never forget.
Milk does not grow at the grocery store.
Money does not grow in the banks and can not be printed at infinitum.
Utopias must fund themselves. In this regard the US is still not Europe. Only fools keep their dough in the US. Those rich who are for Obama can pay 90% of their taxes to fund…see how many days that will last. The smart ones are taking their money out and away. They will never suffer.

Also, very few people understand the true meaning of Schadenfreude.

Yes, let the lazy moochers run the streets for a while.
Sometimes things have to get worse before they get better. Americans will be very angry by the time of the mid-terms.

Since you actually have a functioning brain, compared to say lester, recall how many concessions Obama made after the complete trouncing in 2010.
Just a kind reminder.
There are two kinds of concessions the right should make now:
1. Either none, as Obama did after 2010, or
2. Give him all he/you wants/want and let you see the results.
Only pain teaches lessons.

Obama’s platform doesn’t include pushing green energy at the expense of the coal, oil and natural gas industries? Obama’s platform isn’t anti-fracking and anti-”drill, baby, drill”? Obama’s platform isn’t raising taxes on the “1%”?
You’re boring, ue. You’re a boring, run-of-the-mill liar.
A little kid who imagines monsters? That’s your party’s entire ****ing platform, ue. Eternally keeping Democrat minority groups in fear that GOP’ers are going to steal their birth control, rape them and make them keep the baby, arrest them for “looking Hispanic,” and “put [y'all] back in chains!”
Your party minders are the Brothers Grimm, ue, and GOP’ers are the monsters in the closet that keep your constituency voting Democrat for life.
No you don’t. If you’re going to be a smarmy, slimy little pustule, at least be an honest one. Stop pretending to care about anybody who isn’t on Team D.

Several have posted on not watching liberal shows but
wondered how to know. Quick answer is it on CBS, ABC, or NBC?
HBO,Showtime? Then yes it is.
I have stopped watching tv, don’t buy music, and I don’t
listen to music radio stations. I also don’t go to movies or buy dvds that star Clooney,Damon, etc.
It’s my personal choice, not going to fund the idiots anymore.

Obama and Axelrod have proven at least three things.
1)Alinsky’s cynical strategy and destructive tactics work.
2)There are enough stupid, low information voters out there to turn elections. They can be manipulated if you are willing to engage in the lowest forms of demagoguery.
3)Republican leadership is utterly clueless and incompetent.
Why should we be surprised that the nation is deeply divided? Obama has been stoking the fires of race and class hatred for four solid years from the bully pulpit of the White House.
novaculus on November 10, 2012 at 12:34 PM
Okay, I value your opinion so I will ask this question. The Romney voters probably control 75% – 80% of the wealth (see spending) in this country. I don’t like to call for boycotts but I will this time. I have been searching the net to find what companies supported obambi in 2012 (give them a pass on 2008 as a mistake) and was suprised to see who some of them are (Costco, I’m looking at you) and am tempted to cancel and go to Sams Club as a start. And tell them why we have switched. Just a thought to start a movement to help those companies that support people that would help this country and not support those that don’t. Just a thought.

You could try pirating music and movies of all the limo libs who preach redistribution.
JayZ is a billionaire, surely he wouldn’t care if his music was stolen and given away for free.

Let the “evil” Bush tax cuts expire. When Reid et al want to implement tax cuts for the “middle class” — meaning tax cuts so that the 47% continue to pay no taxes — resist, but offer instead a 75% tax on income over 500k. The uber rich in this country overwhemingly voted for O (to relieve their guilt), so I have ZERO sympathy at this point if they get soaked.
I also think they should allow the Dims to close corporate tax loopholes and let the employment chips fall where they may.
The only thing the republicans should ensure is no gun laws get changed; and make sure O’s administration cannot sign onto any small arms treaty. We need that to avoid getting shipped to the camps. Libs have successfully made conservatives the despised “other” – and you know what happens when a segment of the population becomes the scapegoat.
LET. IT. BURN.

They are low-information voters because of their indoctrination since youth. While we were sleeping these past 50 years, the disciples of Alinsky took over the school boards, the school book publishers, the teaching colleges and, as a result, the teachers became indoctrinated and passed the disease onto their charges.

I particularly love how our trolls have responded to the consensus of “screw em, let it rip” by magnanimously offering to let the grownups offer their input in negotiations. That shocks me. At least you know that the imbecile who runs the ‘”white people crying” tumblr actually believes the government can cut checks in unicorn farts. Our trolls apparently know that the adults are necessary to keep the whole system plausible. yet they want us out of power, I guess because Sarah Palin likes Jesus too much.

You should have quit Costco when the news first surfaced that their chief supports Obama. Yes, Sam’s Club is a good new option.
Boycott all the way. Why Ann Romney did free advertising for Costco, after they’d announced for Obama, is one of the idiocies from the right. It’s not accepted here that one criticize Romney. The loss is not only the ‘brilliance’ of Obama. The Romney camp was snotty and not open for ideas. They didn’t know or didn’t apply all the ‘ammo’ against the Chicago camp. I said it often – silky gloves never down a thuggish charlatanic machine. They didn’t punch back. Imagine, the Chicago thugs and liar succeeded in making an utter clean and honest guy the thug, and the Mitt camp let it all stand, until it was too late.
The truth hurts. Also, conservatism is alive and well, but must be believed in and marketed/sold by a simpatico flame-carrier of it. One must say “Here is why you should vote for me”, not “here is how bad the other guy is…and duh” and wait out the time.
The hypocrites on the left, again – this time they didn’t boycott the store, like Hillary/Obama did in 2008.
The store also gets everything, nearly, from China. She loves people who shop there, China does.

The whole point of the modern Democrat party is to give it’s supporters the illusion of moral superiority. They care very little about Democrat policies, they just want their enemies (anyone who has made them field guilty) to be renounced by the highest authority possible.

Actually, they are so low information that you could convince them to vote Republican if you just went out and did the same thing the Democrats did. They won’t trust anything they see on TV, because both sides call each other liers, but they will believe a person that talks to them personally.

After the 2000 election, your side never weeped and whined.
Instead, you did the following.
1. Had your candidate concede that election, then renege on his concession.
2. Held the entire country hostage for several weeks with legal challenges. During this time, you also had your all-Democrat Florida Supreme Court illegally try to re-write election law after the election had concluded, in order to give the election in Florida to their candidate. A “bitterly divided” SCOTUS smacked that naked Judicial Activism down 9-0.
3. Had several of your prominent members of Congress (including the now most senior US Senator, Dan Inouye), show up at the official Electoral College Vote in D.C. and demand that the person in charge refuse to certify the results. Said person in charge was your own losing candidate.
4. And then sent your Democrat Media down to Florida to re-count the votes, solely to prove that your candidate had really won. Their examination widened Bush’s lead instead.
5. You then continued to weep and whine until 2004. After that election, you then resumed weeping and whining about how Bush “stole” that election as well. Poor Junior Kennedy wrote countless articles in Rolling Stoned about how Bush “stole” the state of Ohio from Thurston the Gigolo. Democrat weeping and whining then continued until January of 2009.

What’s the key to Obamacare? Forced participation. There’s nothing you can do about it, you will participate. Some are waived from it by the president, becasue it’s a terrible program, as he knows. But you have to abide by it so that it will stand. Well, there isn’t any way to force House Republicans to put on a show of negotiation on the fiscal cliff – and there can be no beneficial negotiation with those who seek to do harm. Republicans should stand down, and let the Democrats have what they want. If what they want is good, why should they condider it to be bad for us to let them have it? Standing down is standing down, why worry about the motive?
