Behind Boehner’s new tone
Boehner sounds like a man ready to make a deal, but he has an excruciating negotiating task in finding something that somehow passes muster with an invigorated second-term Democratic president, a reinforced Senate Democratic majority and a conservative House majority.
Boehner said he was prepared to raise new revenue for the government — but not increase tax rates — as long as the White House would agree to entitlement reform. Republicans were “ready to be led,” Boehner said, attempting to shift the burden for what comes next squarely onto Obama’s shoulders. …
Boehner thinks he has more room to maneuver with his own colleagues, including House Majority Leader Eric Cantor, who aides excruciatingly note is on the same page as the No. 1. He has laid out his principles in public. In the summer of 2011, Boehner was negotiating with a president up for reelection, a House filled with red-hot firebrands and a leadership team dragged down by internal staff warfare. This time, his party has suffered an electoral beat down and Obama has run his last campaign.

There’s a dick in the white house and a pu$$y for a speaker. No matter how you look at it, this country is screwed.

Why is it in all these stories that the onus is on the House GOP? Nothing is ever put at the feet of Obama or Senate Dems, who’ve done absolutely nothing but demagogue the issue.
Boehner just needs to say that they’ll consider whatever the Dems put forth. That’s it. They won, it’s on them.

I hope it’s a trap.

Behind Boehner’s new tone … Scotch on the rocks?
Boehner is simply too drunk and too weak to do his job – he must be replaced.

The GOP in the House needs to vote “present” the next four years. Let Obama wholly own the coming train wreck.

Exactly. Let it burn.

Democrats didnt cave in 2004 when they, unlike us, didnt even hold the House. Now is the time to prove that we are serious about our principles.

Republicans can’t do what Democrats do. When Dems are out of power, they blame everything on GOP and the media supports that narrative. When the Dems are in power, they blame everything on the GOP, and the media supports that narrative.
Vote present, and the GOP can’t be blamed for anything but going along with what the voters chose. Elections have consequences. Nobody learns anything if you protect them from the consequences.

A trap you say? It’s Weepy Boner. The Stupids are going to roll over and dry hump us so the lefties won’t say mean things about them. We’ve been down this road before. It doesn’t end well.

Really? You even ask that a question?
These folks looked the other way when the Kennedy’s were at their worst.
Who never called out Byrd for his Klan past.
Who blamed Monica for Clinton’s transgressions.
Who ignored Gore throwing out military ballots but focused on the multiple Florida recounts as though it is normal to keeping changing the definition of what makes a vote.
.
It is NEVER the libs fault. And no one ever holds them accountable, because they meant well, and care.

Since Nancy passed and Obama signed the 2009 Budget amendment… the House has be neutered… The only time the House will have a say on anything consequential are Debt Ceiling battles, other than that, everything will get done via EO’s and Regultions, it is a dictatorship…

Boehner is doing what he has to do. We’re staring at the edge of the Fiscal Cliff and Obama has a much stronger bargaining position. It’s a crap sandwich, but that’s what you get when the GOP can’t turn its base out to win a major presidential election.
The reality is that a majority of Americans think that raising taxes is necessary to help balance the budget. We lost that issue. Taxes are going to go up and there is nothing we can do about it.
Boehner’s best play is to publicly show that he is willing to be flexible, put “revenue” on the table, and then try to get the best deal he can get. If Obama overshoots, Boehner can then frame Obama as being a lefty ideologue and try to force a compromise deal.

Obama gets 49.*8 and Romney gets 49.*. Millions of voters didn’t vote because Romney wasn’t conservative enough, and the meme..that it seems like people are buying into..is that we should all start to embrace illegal aliens, recreational drugs, gay marriage, war on women and abortion…you know…become lefties.
And people are buying into this crap????
How can this be? I didn’t think brainwashing against ones will was possible.

Watching the election unfold was like watching the OJ verdict. BOTH gave me a sick feeling that our country was screwed.
Seeing Boehner do a fist pump at the end of his speech on live television while the election was unfolding and the Republic was crumbling was an eerie visual that will stay with me forever.
