Weekly Standard
Hmmmm
The 2012 presidential election is over, but perhaps the 2016 contest has already begun. Florida senator Marco Rubio, a star in the Republican party, is headed to Iowa.
There, he will attend a fundraiser for Iowa governor Terry Branstad.

LOL – he’s too young to be President and he’s been co-opted by the Ayatollahs.

Amnesty Yeah!
I’m expecting a really bad economy. I think it’s way too early too see where the chips fall.
Oil Can on November 8, 2012 at 1:30 PM
CAN WE please wait till the anti-American is sworn in as president in 2013 before we start dealing with this news?
I am SICK of elections and need a year break from who might/might not run!

Alberta_Patriot on November 8, 2012 at 1:31 PM
Way too early to be talking about 2016. I can’t even stomach the thought.
changer1701 on November 8, 2012 at 1:32 PM
NO!
I refuse to be sucked into 2016 two days after 2012. Good lord.
John_Locke on November 8, 2012 at 1:32 PM
I would say lets start concentrating on 2014 first. We have some building to do. 2014 should be seriously about state and local elections. We need to get motivated to gain seats in local city councils, county governments, and state legislatures.

The brain trust already decided Rubio is our nominee. Similar to how it was decided in 1996 that Bush was the nominee.
Illinidiva on November 8, 2012 at 1:34 PM
Tomorrow the poll results for 2016 will start rolling in.
Bishop on November 8, 2012 at 1:34 PM
Sometimes a trip to Iowa is just a trip to Iowa.
And realistically every governor up for re-election in 2014 (like Branstad) needs to start getting their campaigns together now.
JimLennon on November 8, 2012 at 1:35 PM
I like Rubio, but can’t he wait a week or a month or a year.
Lance Murdock on November 8, 2012 at 1:36 PM
A trip to Iowa is never just a trip to Iowa.
Illinidiva on November 8, 2012 at 1:37 PM
Man, I hope not. If so, going to cause some major splits.

This 4 years are going to go by about as fast as prison time.
The Count on November 8, 2012 at 1:41 PM
At least Rubio waited until after the election to start the 2016 campaign, unlike that sh*tmop up in New Jersey.
Lawdawg86 on November 8, 2012 at 1:41 PM
(sigh)…re-wrapping the same old turd in minority won’t change a thing.
MoreLiberty on November 8, 2012 at 1:42 PM
No kidding. I think Rubio will run, but it doesn’t matter right now. Let’s focus on surviving the next couple years and deal with the 2014 midterms.
Doughboy on November 8, 2012 at 1:42 PM
The nature of the 24/7 newscycle driven now by the internet. Always got to have a new story. That means the 2016 race has already started, so we’d better get used to more horserace stories.

Get ready for RINO PART 3.

Wise move. I’ve been looking at the Bugtussle County projected numbers for 2014 relative to 1914. There are some interesting changes.

I know, I’m still recovering from the stomach upset from Tuesday night. And it had nothing to do with what I ate for dinner that night.
For God’s sake, I am so burned out on politics. And I am as much a political junkie as anyone here. I’ve stopped watching all news, including FOX for at least a couple of weeks.
And Rubio? A guy who has only served one term as a US Senator being propped up as a possible Presidential candidate as soon as one election just ended? Haven’t we seen this somewhere before?
UltimateBob on November 8, 2012 at 1:49 PM
We are in a perpetual election cycle. I guarantee the Morning Joe show will be talking about Tuesday’s election straight through June 2014.
salem on November 8, 2012 at 1:50 PM
Christie not only started his campaign before the election ended; he also managed to end his campaign as well before the 2012 election.
Illinidiva on November 8, 2012 at 1:53 PM
Start desperately lining up those not-white-guy candidates ASAP.
Moesart on November 8, 2012 at 1:56 PM
Yeah, Christie is finished outside of NJ.
It won’t be forgotten.
Moesart on November 8, 2012 at 1:56 PM
No thanks… I’ll pass.

I could care less, cancelled all cable and land line, starving the beast.
Applied for a job today, I probably won’t get.
I will try to care for me and mine.
Call me selfish, I don’t care.

Aaaand that’s my signal that I need a moratorium from politics for atleast a year.
jjraines on November 8, 2012 at 2:53 PM
Rubio might be all right, but I’m hoping we get someone like Walker to run. That man knows how to govern!
I wonder who the GOP elitists will be pushing. Specter is dead, so their choices are slim. Maybe they will select Boehner after he gets the House to raise taxes…
DannoJyd on November 8, 2012 at 2:56 PM
Great, a minority RINO…
We need a true conservative to lead the party.
Palin 2016
ChuckTX on November 8, 2012 at 3:15 PM
Jeb Bush.
Right Mover on November 8, 2012 at 3:40 PM
These people are truly pathetic. They might as well write articles about who the candidates will be in 2040. Both discussions are completely pointless.
