A more diverse Congress
Meanwhile, potential milestones are in the making for black Republicans.
The star recruit this cycle has been Utah’s Mia Love, the Saratoga Springs mayor who has been a fierce fundraiser and the GOP’s best chance to oust moderate Democratic Rep. Jim Matheson after six terms in office. If Love defeats Matheson, she would be the first black female Republican on Capitol Hill.
But another black Republican in the western United States could make history. Vernon Parker would become the first black member of Congress from either party from Arizona if he prevails over Democrat Kyrsten Sinema on Tuesday.
“I think it would mean a lot more to the state than to me,” Parker said. “Unfortunately, the state has been characterized as not minority-friendly, and that’s not true.”

Do these blithering morons know what the words “majority” and “minority” mean?

The GOP is very minority friendly. The non-stop demonizing of the GOP by the Left is primarily what keeps them away.

Didn’t know about Vernon Parker. Apparently that’s a new district he’s running in and it leans slightly Democrat. Here’s hoping he wins. Parker, Love, West, and Scott can then form their own CBC.

The GOP is very friendly to people who define themselves as individuals rather than ethnicities. Nobody in the GOP cares if you’re black, white, green, or purple, we care if you support and love individual rights, and are willing to fight for them.
That’s something the Left cannot abide.

I’m all in favor of diversity in Congress. As long as everyone is CONSERVATIVE.

If you don’t vote for Parker, west and Scott, yer racist.
If you don’t vote for Love you’re racist AND sexist.

Balkanization through focus on arbitrary differences between peoples will be the bane of America. Skin color, ethnicity, national origin, religion. Who cares what color someone’s skin is. I don’t give a flying f about that.

A “moderate” democrat these days is just a hair to the right of Stalin.

At the end of the day, though, I don’t think that anyone really does. The ONLY times that I hear any mention of race or ethnicity are when people are talking about getting in to school or talking about politics (besides jokes, but hey, I’m a college student).
Outside of public policy belaboring the supposed racial divide and attempts to correct said nonexistent crisis, from where I’m sitting we’ve moved past all of that, and we’re getting mighty close to a “content of character” society. Here’s hoping today reflects that

Minority Republicans pursue policies that benefit all and the United States. Democrat minorities pursue policies that create racial division and benefit our enemies.

Wait!?! Mia Love is black? Is it too late for me to change my vote?

So what you’re actually saying, Politico, is that you want white people who think differently, instead of minorities who all think the same way?
