Obama’s progressive gamble
Mr. Obama had numerous opportunities to see what was amiss politically and economically and correct his errors. There was the rise of the tea party and the summer 2009 popular rebellion against ObamaCare. Then Scott Brown’s Massachusetts election. Even after Republicans gained 63 seats in 2010, Mr. Obama might have imitated Bill Clinton after 1994 and made real bows toward centrist governing…
All of these were deliberate political choices, part of his progressive gamble that it will all be worth it if he can win re-election. Higher taxes are already locked into place, ObamaCare’s subsidies are ready to roll out, and the regulatory wave he has delayed past Election Day can recommence. He’ll have put the government in such a dominant position that its new powers will take decades to roll back or reform.
Mr. Obama’s trouser-crease admirers now say they hope Mr. Obama will emerge as a bigger man in his second term, and lately he has been using the aftermath of Hurricane Sandy to revive his postpartisan aura of 2008. But there is nothing—not one policy choice—in his first-term record to suggest this is anything but another ruse to attract independents.

Correct, there’s absolutely no indication that he will govern wisely.
I won. Says it all.

Amen to this. I’ve seen message boards on lib sites where with an Obama packed Supreme Court they plan liberal rule for 50 years or more.

Let’s all say good-bye to the Kenyan pupy muncher. Our long, national nightmare is almost over.

“The NAACP basically ran this poll location and the judges did nothing about it,” Rockford said.”

Obama has done nothing but spew at best distortions at worst out right lies. The only truthful comment made was that if he did not get the economy on track it would be a one term presidency.
Make it so.

If he wins America is finished. And his supporters will suffer the most.

By the way, this is the month that people have been saying can’t come fast enough.

If Obama is reelected, there will be no doubt that we are a marxist nation, and there will be no way for the Republicans to spin it differently. It is dangerous to ignore reality. I’d say anything less than a Romney blowout shows that we are on an irreversible path. It’s not like the demographic that tends to like free enterprise is going to have a population boom in relation to the demographics that tend towards being parasitic by nature.
Clocks are ticking and you’ll want to establish independence for yourself before that door closes and you are enslaved.

Buck up! Make sure friends and family will vote.
I don’t care who is at my polling station, they won’t change my vote!
Difficultas_Est_Imperium on November 5, 2012 at 7:57 AM
Don’t you worry! Family, friends, relatives, neighbors all on board R&R train. I was speaking of our once great city having gone the way of other big cities. Whoever had Texas as only “lean” Romney was way,way wrong.

You’re right that it’s a growing structural problem that’s working against us, not just a transitory political contest. And it better be fixed soon, before it becomes unfixable… which already it almost is.
petefrt on November 5, 2012 at 8:03 AM
After our election we have to take on both the media and the school system.

But his cronies will prosper.
CPT. Charles on November 5, 2012 at 8:18 AM
Which makes one wonder how deeply woven into the system ideologues are.
A person can fume a bit over the presence of NAACP handing out water….but moving people to different positions in line???
By what authority? Allowing this goes beyond bending the rules by a lax election official.
And not a word from the msm…. now if a group of Mormon representatives were doing this, I’d guess it would be on news rotation every hour.
Why do you suppose that is?
Mimzey on November 5, 2012 at 8:25 AM
The only thing embarrassing about it is the poll watcher didn’t walk right up and undertake a citizen’s arrest, or at least call the cops. That’s what you’re there for.
GWB on November 5, 2012 at 8:28 AM
That’s been my though since 2008.
OT-Is it only me that is getting a big HA logo that almost covers the entire submit post button? With my mouse skills it’s a real challenge to post. If I miss I get sent back to the main page.

Nope, I got one also.
Mimzey on November 5, 2012 at 8:37 AM
Yep, and I’m encouraged that education is one of Mitt’s top five priorities. We don’t know the specifics yet, but I suspect he’ll promote school choice.
As for media, I’m not sure what the gubmint can/should do, (other than defund PBS/NPR). I wish Koch brothers or some other conservative investors would buy one of the broadcast TV networks.
petefrt on November 5, 2012 at 8:44 AM
Me, too.

Obama’s “progresssive gamble” is only made possible by the Wall Street Journal’s “immigration gamble”.

Take on the schools locally first. That will help in taking on the media.
My two contributions to taking on the media are canceling my subscription to my crappy local daily and limiting TV media to FNC–I can’t trust the others.
BuckeyeSam on November 5, 2012 at 9:52 AM
It is also like that on my iPad.
herm2416 on November 5, 2012 at 10:27 AM
Me too. Haven’t subscribed to any print media since I started using the internet about a dozen years ago. My cable subscription doesn’t include ABC, CBS or NBC. I used to watch Discovery Channel, History Channel and such until they became so political. Now I watch Fox News and Fox Business, The Blaze, and an occasional downloaded movie from Amazon.com. Screw MSM.
