Wisconsin State Journal endorses Romney
But this election is about jobs, the slow economy and Washington’s dysfunction. Our leaders can’t even pass a budget, much less stabilize soaring debt that’s burdening our children and grandchildren.
Obama failed to embrace his own commission’s bipartisan debt deal. Ryan, serving on the commission, similarly balked at the solid and comprehensive agreement.
But Obama is the president. The buck stops with him. This is now Obama’s economy, even though the GOP shares in the blame for partisan games.
It was Obama and his fellow Democrats who went it alone on health care, making subsequent deals even harder to find. It was Obama who too often let Congress steer the ship in circles. It still is Obama who hasn’t laid out a clear vision for the next four years.
We endorsed Obama for change last time around. Now we’re endorsing change again: Mitt Romney.

Ouch. That’s change we can all go for

Since the Milwaukee Journal Sentinel opted not to endorse this year, this is now the highest-profile newspaper endorsement in the state. And it went for Romney.

Obama’s collapse continues. Democrats are defecting in large numbers.
El_Terrible on November 4, 2012 at 1:32 PM
Not familiar with Wisconsin, is this a big newspaper? I do love that grown ups are recognizing that Obama HAS to go!
BettyRuth on November 4, 2012 at 1:34 PM
Is it always a “partisan game” if a Republican acts like a Republican? If not, when isn’t it? It seems kind of pointless to go along with the Democrats when you could just join their disgusting party and have all the cooperation you want.

They are actually. Crossover is all going Romney’s way.

I wonder to what extent a newspaper endorsement influences public opinion and to what extent it reflects it, and which is its true purpose.
RedWinged Blackbird on November 4, 2012 at 2:02 PM
For a moment I thought you said Democrats are defecating in large numbers. Come to think of it, that might be true as well.
Boogeyman on November 4, 2012 at 2:06 PM
Well, that’s his title anyway. I would not consider him to be a true president.
UltimateBob on November 4, 2012 at 2:07 PM
What’s the point of “endorsing” somebody two days before the election? It can’t possibly have any effect.
The only reason to do it is so they can play it both ways in the future: Now, they can claim he “betrayed their trust”. And if Romney ends up being having a good legacy, they’ve always got this fake “endorsement” in their files.

Methinks it bodes well, either way.

I still don’t get it. If all these Dems, including “Dems of influence”, newspapers etc are leaving Obama for Romney than why are the polls not reflecting this? Are the polls really that awful? I guess it’s possible. It just doesn’t make sense. Don’t pollsters want to be right in the end?

Have the angry Madison villagers torched the place yet–or at least cancelled their subscriptions, uh, er, if anybody still has one?
