Exclusive: Security officials on the ground in Libya challenge CIA account of Benghazi
But according to multiple people on the ground that night, the Blue Mountain Security manager, who was in charge of the local force hired to guard the consulate perimeter, made calls on both two-way radios and cell phones to colleagues in Benghazi warning of problems at least an hour earlier. Those calls allegedly went to local security contractors who say that the CIA annex was also notified much earlier than 9:40 p.m. U.S. military intelligence also told Fox News that armed militia was gathering up to three hours before the attack began.
One source said the Blue Mountain Security chief seemed “distraught” and said “the situation here is very serious, we have a problem.” He also said that even without these phone and radio calls, it was clear to everyone in the security community on the ground in Benghazi much earlier than 9:40 p.m. that fighters were gathering in preparation for an attack…
Both American and British sources say multiple roadblocks set up by fighters believed to be with Ansar al-Sharia were in place in Benghazi several hours before the 9:40 p.m. timeline and that communications also alluded to “heavily armed troops showing up with artillery.” Fox News was told by both American and British contacts who were in Benghazi that night that the CIA timeline rolled out this past week is only “loosely based on the truth” and “doesn’t quite add up.”…
One former Special Op now employed by a private company in Benghazi said that even the safe room wasn’t properly set up. He said “the safe room is one of the first measures you take” and that he is “not sure how you can set a safe room without fire suppression and ventilation in case of fire.” He also said, “Ambassador Stevens would likely be alive today if this simple and normal procedure was put into place.”

Petraeus should go to Hades.

Who do you believe, those who were there and saw what happened, or those thousands of miles away in DC who were told by Obama what happened?

It’s starting to look like he is the designated scapegoat.

According to Jerry Rivers (Geraldo) these facts are nothing but obscene lies. He kissed the father of Tyrone Woods but could not believe that the president he worships would let an ambassador and other Americans die. I would love to spit on that Jerry character and obama is even more disgusting

Here’s a riddle. How did the Turkish consul general avoid the militia roadblocks which had been set up prior to his leaving the meeting with Stevens? It’s almost as if Turkey was given a free pass,…or something.:)

IMO … He, Hillary, and Obama are at fault here.
And to think many were actually hoping for Petraeus to run as the GOP candidate for POTUS.

Sick of this Benghazi Story and all the clowning that goes on in this administration, vote for Mitt and make them all go away. I can’t wait to vote on Tuesday.

I try and be honest with myself and wonder if I’d be this upset if there were a Republican in the White House facing the same criticism? I think the answer is yes. When I go back and look at previous scandals like Watergate, Iran-Contra, Lewinsky and even Valerie Plame–none of them are on the scale of Benghazi. I certainly wouldn’t defend Nixon for breaking the law. At least Iran-Contra was trying to rescue hostages and I always thought that while Clinton was a jackass, the Republicans went overboard. In my opinion the whole Plame thing was BS and no one was hurt (or even outed) and yet Scooter Libby went to jail.
Compare all of those past scandals to what is happening in Libya. Four Americans were killed on U.S. soil, while being watched in real time by the White House. The next day, the president blamed it all on some silly video–lying directly to the American people. And ever since that day the story continues to be obfuscated. This coverup makes Nixon look like a piker.

Two Republican Senators obtain permission from Tunisia to interview a participant in the Benghazi debacle. How will Eric Holder and Dear Leader explain this..?
d1carter on November 3, 2012 at 2:20 PM
Meanwhile the video maker remains locked up. Hillary Clinton consoles the father of one of the slain with a promise to get the video maker – not the ones who killed his son.
These people are EVIL.

I agree. They’re all are at least partly responsable. Hillary for the lack of security to begin with. CIA for lying afterwards and the president for voting present instead of doing something when he had the chance.
ReaganWasRight on November 3, 2012 at 2:22 PM

Yes, of course we would. It is for that very reason that conservatives have better outcomes: because we conservatives hold EVERYONE to the same standard. When W was going to give the country away to illegals, we rose up and fought it. When the most unqualified SCOTUS nomination happened, we rose up again. The list goes on and on and on.
If the liberals and the press held EVERYONE to the same standard, THEN we realy would have a better world.
And what happened in Benghazi will eventually come out. It may not be publicized so that everyone knows the turst, but we will know. And just like Tucker and Menchaca, those of us who pay attention will NEVER forget.

Lindsey Graham and Saxby Chambliss wrote letters to the Tunisian ambassador and within 48 hours the FBI is in Tunisia to interview the guy in a Tunisian jail…
This administration is corrupt..

I could believe that.
Sources are insisting other military capabilities were available and not used. I could believe that too.

[HondaV65 on November 3, 2012 at 2:13 PM]
I don’t know whether Patraeus is at fault, but I have no sympathy at his predicament in being a scapegoat or taking some blame. He could have explained he would resign if rescue was less that adequate and not rapidly implemented. That he didn’t, nor resign afterwards for the failure by others higher up the chain to do what was needed, is his own fault and he’ll have to accept the consequences as a party to the coverup.
Dusty on November 3, 2012 at 2:54 PM
That’s interesting. I wonder what Tunisia’s interest is here.
Dusty on November 3, 2012 at 2:58 PM
It wasn’t a functioning consulate so it did not need to pass the heavier security requirements. Nobody was stationed there. Very few people would have known that Stevens was there.
lexhamfox on November 3, 2012 at 3:00 PM
Ok. Scapegoat, I get.
Why do some here believe that Petraeus is to blame and what is he to blame for, exactly?
There are rumours that there was a gun-running operation going on, though officially, all that was happening was that “loose” weapons were being collected.
Since this appears to be a joint State Department/CIA operation, it clearly must have been approved by Obama and Obama is the only one who could authorize the use of Pentagon resources or request British assistance.
If Petraeus were to resign before Nov 6th, would that not hurt Obama’s re-election bid? Since Petraeus is a Republican, it seems to me that he might delay his resignation until the 7th to remove the appearance of a political motivation.

He testified that the attack was due to he video. How could he have not been lying?
ReaganWasRight on November 3, 2012 at 3:10 PM
Yet a congressional source told Fox News that CIA Director David Petraeus, during a briefing with members of the House Intelligence Committee three days after the attack, also espoused the view that Benghazi was an out-of-control demonstration prompted by the YouTube video. According to the source, this was “shocking” to some members who were present and saw the same intelligence pointing toward a terrorist attack.
It wasn’t/isn’t just Hussein Obama, Hillary Clinton, Susan Rice, lLon Panette and Baghdad Bob Jay Carney who perpetrated this Goebbels level Big Lie. CIA head Imam David Petraeus is also guilty. In fact it was probably that b-astard’s idea.
VorDaj on November 3, 2012 at 3:11 PM
I did not know that he had testified. In any case, that was the official story.
Surely the job of the head of the CIA is to report facts to the president and the appropriate congressional committees and not to set policy. If he is responsible to the president, then he must either follow policy set by the president or resign. However, once things have gone wrong, resignation would be cowardly unless he also accepted responsibility for his own actions. If he were not to blame — i.e. if his advice had been ignored — then his resignation should come at an appropriate time.
If this puts him in the position of being used as a scapegoat, that is his own problem. That’s a hazard of taking such a job.
gh on November 3, 2012 at 3:21 PM
That seems pretty clear-cut. I don’t know what makes you think that Petraeus is the one whose idea it was. I would guess someone like Jarrett.

They might as well ask where the Girl Scouts were. Relying on the U.N. for anything means you’re on your own and screwed.
