A new direction for America
After four years of disappointments, fixing America’s problems requires a new direction. The path we’re on hasn’t led us where we need to go. In so many ways, it seems that things have gotten even worse. We can make excuses for what has gone wrong, and many have tried. But excuses won’t turn this country around. Only leadership can do that.
I know something about leadership because I have led before. I have reformed businesses that were on the verge of collapse. I have helped to save an Olympics that was plagued by scandal. I have worked with men and women on both sides of the aisle in Massachusetts to achieve real change and real reform.
I can do it again in Washington. Republicans and Democrats in Congress may seem to share very little these days, but they share responsibility for the problems we now face. Just as it took both parties to bring us to where we stand, it will take both parties to get us moving again in the right direction. …
America is ready for that kind of leadership. Paul Ryan and I will provide it. Our plan for a stronger middle class will create jobs, stop the decline in take-home pay, and put America back on the path of possibility and opportunity.

Same moderate one-trick-pony schtick, eh Mitt? Ignore Benghazi, even though it’s been given to you on a silver platter. Just don’t come running to me when you lose. Remember, I’m not part of your campaign.
Stoic Patriot on November 3, 2012 at 8:07 AM
Great money line here.
hawkdriver on November 3, 2012 at 8:12 AM
Romney chooses his words based on the people he is trying to reach and persuade. This does not need to include die-hard republicans at this point. Try to be a little bit more stoic.
Dextrous on November 3, 2012 at 8:16 AM
Well, the first comment is just ridiculous. I guess that the best the “genius” Constitution expert can come up with between copying CDs for resale.
But Stoic Patriot, I know your comments and know you’re a real Conservative. Stick with the Romney ticket and help put him over the top. Things like the Chick-Fil-A counter-boycott worked out just fine without him getting down into the weeds of a single event issue. Let’s stand behind the guy that’ll get rid of Obama.
hawkdriver on November 3, 2012 at 8:17 AM
Okay, that sentence is almost unreadable. Let’s try again.
I guess that’s the best the “genius” Constitutional expert can come up with between copying CDs for resale

Mitt Romney has not closed the sale. The election is way closer than it ever should have been and that’s not because Obama has done anything to make it that way. It’s because Romney hasn’t done enough to close the sale even though he has had ample opportunity to do so. If Romney doesn’t win Tuesday it won’t be because Obama is the better choice, it will be because Romney isn’t seen as all that much of a change from Obama.

“attacking me is not an agenda”…best 1 liner during the debates, wish he would use it more often….
hillsoftx on November 3, 2012 at 8:26 AM
I think its a good final argument. Its the gist of Romney’s candidacy, Elect me because I am a good business leader and can do better for this country than Obama.
nathor on November 3, 2012 at 8:29 AM
Back to back morons open the thread. Romney is going to be a great POTUS.
Basilsbest on November 3, 2012 at 8:32 AM
30000 braving the cold on a Friday night compared to a blatherskite ranting in his basement.
bayview on November 3, 2012 at 8:34 AM
romney was wounded when he came up against obama:
- his business experience was twisted against him. dems set the bain narrative early and romney could not recover.
- his obligatory pandering in the primaries undermined his credibility.
apart from that, romney is not a charismatic candidate and ryan is also quite stiff.
still, romney had his good moments, but his core case was always elusive.
nathor on November 3, 2012 at 8:39 AM
Instead of attacking me personally like leftist liberals do why don’t you respond with some concrete evidence that suggest Romney’s actual policies other than a few incentives for job creation will be all that different from any liberal democrat because I’m not seeing it? Yeah Romney’s better than Obama but so is my dog.
bgibbs1000 on November 3, 2012 at 8:41 AM
bgibbs is in troll mode. He claims not to understand the difference between Romney and Obama. Anyone who needs it explained to him at this point is a waste of time. bgibbs’ dog is more intelligent.
Basilsbest on November 3, 2012 at 8:48 AM
If you don’t see his proposed policies and the merits, and they are extensively discussed at his web site, it is because you are a moron. Do you expect other to spoon feed you again? You just lazily and repeatedly mouth off your ridiculous and tired one line rant. Get a life.
bayview on November 3, 2012 at 8:48 AM
And if you think he’s going to be any different than Obama, you’re naive.
Dante on November 3, 2012 at 8:51 AM
There is no difference.
Dante on November 3, 2012 at 8:52 AM
Then it’s just down to who you prefer. You prefer Obama.
hawkdriver on November 3, 2012 at 8:53 AM
Why are you going to vote for Jill Stein?
Dante on November 3, 2012 at 8:57 AM
You have perfected the art of self-nullification.
Basilsbest on November 3, 2012 at 8:57 AM
More personal attacks from posters claiming to be conservative yet nothing about how Romney’s policies will be all that different from Obama. I think you misunderstand where I’m coming from. I’m supporting Romney, he’s better than Obama, just about anything is, but he’s no conservative. Yeah he may get the economy going but his promises to save all the big entitlements will eventually doom us anyway.
bgibbs1000 on November 3, 2012 at 8:59 AM
If you think that there is no difference, it is because you chose to be willfully obtuse.
bayview on November 3, 2012 at 9:03 AM
The only reason many people are voting for Romney is that he’s not Obama, not because of any policies he’s espousing. In 1980 I voted for Reagan because of his policies and his philosophical beliefs, not just because he wasn’t Carter, this time Romney gets my vote only because he’s not Obama.
bgibbs1000 on November 3, 2012 at 9:07 AM
You are the personification of, “There are none more blind than those who wont see.”
Dante on November 3, 2012 at 9:08 AM
You are of course entitle to your lone opinion, but the funny thing is, there are thousands more who thinks that characterization perfectly describe you.
bayview on November 3, 2012 at 9:17 AM
Hard to be seen as anything different when the msm is biased against you.
You have to remember that most people don’t check on anything they are being told by the news sources they have whispering in their ears.
Not Romney’s fault. If the media were doing their jobs, do you think it would be as close as it is?
Mimzey on November 3, 2012 at 9:46 AM
Won’t see what?
Are you still drinking the “there’s no difference” kool-aid?
Start here…Obama is a life long leftist. Romney is a life long leftist.
True or false?
Mimzey on November 3, 2012 at 9:48 AM
Delusional.
What are you basing that claim on?
Mimzey on November 3, 2012 at 9:49 AM
Focus bias.
Mimzey on November 3, 2012 at 9:51 AM
Not one single one of your successes has ever come without Romney putting the company into deep debt. The Salt Lake success again was a triumph of over spending. State and Federal money covered it with hundreds of millions in extra spending and private enterprise walked away with a hundred million in profits. I got no problem with private enterprise making money, I do have a problem with them doing it at the expense of tax payers.
So, if the only way he can save us is his past experience, get ready for 150% debt to GDP by the end of his term in office.
astonerii on November 3, 2012 at 9:57 AM
Obama wants to save Soc Sec so does Romney.
Obama wants to save medicare so does Romney.
Obama wants to save Medicaid so does Romney.
Obama wants to save welfare so does Romney.
Obama wants to save a whole slew of other entitlements so does Romney.
Obama wants the government involved in healthcare so does Romney.
bgibbs1000 on November 3, 2012 at 9:57 AM
I happen to think that with ALL Romney has had to fight from both a suspicious right and a hellbent on destroying him, media, he’s done an incredible job. The decision to stay away from Benghazi was probably the right one, given that he WOULD have been crucified by the media, AND that about 50% of America that even knows about Benghazi looks at it like that idiot Geraldo does. The media would have reported it as “Romney makes wild and unfounded accusations against the President”. And he wouldn’t have had time to prove his case- face it, there are a lot of people who think FOX is full of racist hate for the one.
This election is far from “normal”. There are SO many components that haven’t been in previous elections. Never has an administration been so protected by the media. I don’t remember a time when there was a candidate like Romney that was hated because he was successful. It’s bizarre. All I know is that I’m going to call every person I know this weekend and encourage them to call everyone they know- especially anyone on the fence or evangelical. People have to take a moment and really dwell on what awaits us if Obama is re-elected.
BettyRuth on November 3, 2012 at 10:04 AM
Thats silly.
Define the methods and the plans.
It’s not much different than this:
Obama claims to want to see a prosperous America.
You want to see a prosperous America.
You are just like Obama.
Mimzey on November 3, 2012 at 10:08 AM

Dextrous on November 3, 2012 at 11:25 AM
Thats just more silliness.
One is easily answerable…my question to you.
The other is a refusal to answer a simple question in favor of asking a undefined term be compared.
Why not answer my question?
