Reagan official: If Obama gave the order to secure Benghazi, there must be a paper trail
“President Obama today said that he gave an order to everyone while the attack was going on to do everything they could to secure the personnel,” West said. “Now that’s really big because that means that those who were turning down [former Navy SEAL] Ty Woods when he was asking for the help were going against the orders of the president of the United States.”…
“A chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff doesn’t take an order from the president when he says ‘do everything’ and not put that in writing and send it out to the chain of command,” West said. “If that actually happened the way President Obama today said it happened, there’s a paper trail and I think people reasonably enough can say, ‘well can we see the order?’ because hundreds of others supposedly saw this order.”

Naw,
Just turn the computer clock back and crank out the WORD(tm) document.
Now, the audit trail will be a bit trickier, but when you own the auditors…

Paper trail already in the shredder?
Have we gotten any word on who gave the info to Fox yesterday? Someone did and it all points to bho as the snake who is the biggest liar here?

Looks like General Ham of AFRICOM apparently went ahead with plans for a reaction force to relieve Benghazi after being told to stand down and was “apprehended” by his second in command and relieved of command. This is starting to leak out from military channels:
http://www.tigerdroppings.com/rant/p/37144547/Interesting-Rumor-Concerning-General-Carter-Ham-and-Stand-Down-Order.aspx
It also appears that the carrier strike group commander of the region has also been relieved of command:
http://www.stripes.com/news/navy/navy-replaces-admiral-leading-mideast-strike-group-1.194780
That would be consistent with having launched strike aircraft in defiance of a stand down order. That would ALSO be consistent with the report that operators on the roof were using a laser target designator.
If these reports are true, this is a scandal of huge proportion.

Paper trails are so 20th century .
We have a modern tech savvy Harvard genius now, he don’t use no stinkin paper and pen, he uses telepathic waves !!

Benghazi?
You reich wingers come up with some cool names for your fake scandals.

Would you mind if I copied your comment and sent the info on? Very telling if it proves true?

What a total lie by Obama.
Those reports sound quite feasible.
The word epic should describe the scandal.
INC on October 27, 2012 at 2:57 PM
Sure, letget. I was pointed to those links from Instapundit.
Someone needs to get to the bottom of this. Ambassador Bolton pointed out some inconsistencies regarding what Gen Ham has said and what Panetta said he said. Bolton appeared on Greta’s show on Fox last night.
crosspatch on October 27, 2012 at 3:01 PM
I am willing to bet at this point that if Obama is re-elected we are going to see a massive wave of military resignations of flag rank officers.
crosspatch on October 27, 2012 at 3:05 PM
I saw Bolton say that. I assumed Panetta was lying.
INC on October 27, 2012 at 3:05 PM
If there was any real media these stories would be blasted on every TV channel and newspaper. It is up to us to spread the word to all friendly outlets…
d1carter on October 27, 2012 at 3:07 PM
So Hussein was so intent on saving American lives in Benghazi that he is now punishing those who tried to save the same American lives in Benshazi ?
burrata on October 27, 2012 at 3:13 PM
Wow. Just wow. Reading all of the Crosspatch links. Just wow.
djl130 on October 27, 2012 at 3:18 PM
Unfortunately, the president’s order was on the same plane that crashed and burned up all those ballots for the military overseas.
Such a shame . . . .
AZCoyote on October 27, 2012 at 3:20 PM
It should be enough to make any American’s blood boil. A veteran of any service at any time, doubly so. You do not leave people to be slaughtered when you have the means to protect them at hand.
If I were Gen. Ham, I would have interpreted the stand down order as unlawful. Gen. Ham was being asked to commit 3rd degree murder by doing nothing.
crosspatch on October 27, 2012 at 3:21 PM
Saw a report on another cite that Ham is already being replaced. Will he be Obama’s goat?
AZCoyote on October 27, 2012 at 3:22 PM
One more great thing about having a Republican president — the press will actually investigate government coverups.
29Victor on October 27, 2012 at 3:27 PM
Just saw this, too, and posted in another thread. I am STUNNED. This is a scandal the likes of which this country has not seen in my lifetime. NO WAY the sharia media can keep the lid on this until election day. I also just read that there was a protest today in front of CNN in Atlanta because they REFUSE to cover Benghazi honestly. This is ripping WIDE OPEN. Zero is FIRING these men?! Are you freaking kidding me?! I’m actually trembling from being simultaneously PISSED off and actually TERRIFIED that my country can have gone this far to total ruin.
Rational Thought on October 27, 2012 at 3:29 PM
Also, send crosspatch’s links above to Drudge in his tips box. He has sources at DoD and in Congress. He can go a long way toward breaking this wide open.
Unbelievable. Unbelievable.

I don’t think that CVBG can be considered to be in “the region…”

I might have missed this info, but has Fox had anything on this? I can’t find anything on Fox or FoxNation? Fox is the only channel we watch news on.

Libya has a long shoreline in the Med. It is my understanding that this carrier strike group is also responsible for the Med. Sea.
crosspatch on October 27, 2012 at 3:34 PM
Headline of the article is “Navy replaces admiral leading Mideast strike group” Libya would be in the Mideast region.
crosspatch on October 27, 2012 at 3:35 PM
Fox has an article about the carrier strike group cmdr being sacked.
crosspatch on October 27, 2012 at 3:35 PM
The General Ham info right now is just stuff leaking out by word of mouth from military officers.
crosspatch on October 27, 2012 at 3:36 PM
Interesting but I have to question the White House motive behind this. If you’re trying to cover up something, why would you fire these guys? If you place the blame on them, wouldn’t that be more incentive for them to spill the beans? I mean, if I disobeyed orders to save lives and was fired/removed from command, I’d be screaming to the world that the president had order them to let embassy/CIA personell die.
ReaganWasRight on October 27, 2012 at 3:37 PM
Stennis is 5th Fleet (Middle East). The 6th Fleet covers the Mediterranean.
ReaganWasRight on October 27, 2012 at 3:41 PM
No, the CVBG has been assigned to Fifth Fleet. It wouldn’t be responsible for the Med until after it transited through the Red Sea and the Suez Canal and reassigned to Sixth Fleet.
Isn’t the Enterprise CVBG in the Med now?
blink on October 27, 2012 at 3:41 PM
If Zero is now saying he NEVER ordered a stand down, how come he just fired Gen. Ham for refusing to follow the stand down order? Who ordered it? Who? WHO?
Rational Thought on October 27, 2012 at 3:45 PM
Issa needs to order Ham in for a deposition TODAY.
Rational Thought on October 27, 2012 at 3:46 PM
No kidding, crosspatch! Wow! I’m stunned! Thank you for the post and links. When I heard that Woods and Doherty defied orders to save those people, I figured there were others who did the same thing. No one in the military would leave those people to die! It’s hard for me to imagine someone so cold and callous who would do that, but I guess there are a bunch of them in the White House.
I hope this is widely reported, but I’m not holding my breath.
kakypat on October 27, 2012 at 3:56 PM
Looks like this is mushrooming out of the Emperor’s control. More and more people will talk now and we will learn that Zero gave the order to “Stand Down.”
dogsoldier on October 27, 2012 at 4:01 PM
Devastating if true, but I have my doubts. I’m pretty sure if something like this were true, the first place it would come out wouldn’t be an LSU sports forum. But I could be wrong.
xblade on October 27, 2012 at 4:03 PM
Valerie Jarrett? Who else gets a charge out of people referring to them as the real president?
dogsoldier on October 27, 2012 at 4:04 PM
Bing West was on Greta’s show last night. You might find the interview on her page. However, Pat Dollard has the video.

From ACE: White House says Obama did not deny rescue attempt…
d1carter on October 27, 2012 at 4:05 PM
Oh and lest I forget, Zero lied. If he gave a rat’s ass about our people in Benghazi he would not have gone to bed, regardless of the impending fund raiser in Las Vegas.
dogsoldier on October 27, 2012 at 4:06 PM
This was the same thing I was thinking. I think the president has lied, left the embassy/CIA staff for dead and tried to cover it up, but these most recent revelations strike me as speculation.
ReaganWasRight on October 27, 2012 at 4:10 PM
I haven’t seen any reliable source yet that states the reason why Gen. Ham is being replaced. Just that he is.
lynncgb on October 27, 2012 at 4:16 PM
More on the White House statement about rescue attempt…
d1carter on October 27, 2012 at 4:17 PM
crosspatch, I’m on board with the AFRICOM Commander taking a faceshot over launching a rescue effort for Benghazi, but not so sure about the Admiral since USS Stennis group is in the 5th Fleet which covers the Arabian Gulf, North Arabian Sea, Red Sea areas, not the Med. Any ships launching in support of Benghazi would have been in the 6th Fleet AOR.
Still, relieving the Commander of a Carrier Group mid-deployment is very, very, very unusual.
NavyMustang on October 27, 2012 at 4:20 PM
This is going to come by word of mouth and I am willing to bet there are a lot of LSU alumni among the officer corps. This is also consistent with General Ham’s statements but is INCONSISTENT with Panetta’s words.
Watch Bolton’s interview, in particular the very end:
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Qdo9A3Hwno4
crosspatch on October 27, 2012 at 4:21 PM
I will say though that Hams replacement as commander of AFRICOM looks a little unusual in that they did not announce his next assignment. Usually when they announce a replacement like this the DoD introduces the new guy and either announces the new position for the previous commander or that he/she is retiring.
