Hmmmm
Republican Mitt Romney is placing television ads in Minnesota, a move that pushes his presidential campaign into a state Democrats have held for more than three decades.
Republicans and Democrats who track campaign spending confirmed late Thursday that Romney will begin running ads in Minnesota over the weekend. The investment is described as a small buy that Democrats suggest is simply intended to generate media coverage and force President Barack Obama’s campaign to invest there as well.

Obama’s political machine is an urban legend built up by the media, like much of the waning aura surrounding him. It’s strong, but overly hyped-up to daunt the opposition. Team Romney has knocked on about as many doors and made calls as Team Obama this election cycle in swing states. I can give you he did get the youth vote out big time in ’08 but it’s not looking like a repeat on that end for Obama this time around. He will crush Romney with the minority vote as well, but not with women.
As for Ohio, I’m giving you numbers from Quinnipiac (the most favorable polling out of Ohio for Obama out there at this time) and Romney’s winning Indies by 7%. (this is the poll that has Obama up 5.)

Someone’s mad that his Green Room privileges got revoked.
As to MN, this state will go for Obama; but if it’s a token then who cares. The money would be better spent in NV, NH, IA, WI and MI.

I got them back, smart guy. I used them once, and haven’t bothered since. Sorry to burst your bubble, but it’s gratifying to know I pissed you off enough to make that comment.

Just so you know Ras was very accurate about the national vote in 2008 but way off with state polls. If you look at the final swing state polls ras across the boards underestimates Obama by a couple of points. So I take Ras with a grain a salt, just like any poll. But I don’t ignore it just because it doesn’t tell me what I want to hear. I suggest you do the same with other polls that don’t agree with your preconceived notions. In any event come Nov 8 where going to find out who is right.

Sorry for the O/T but, speaking of The Globe, Gloria has NOTHING.

Go, Chica! I like the cut of your jib.
Ric needs to learn an important lesson here…. never p1ss off a conservative Latina.
UltimateBob on October 26, 2012 at 12:00 PM
Planning on spending Nov 7 in a depressed drunken stupor, then, are you? Because the rest of us will be celebrating President-Elect Romney then.
Gingotts on October 26, 2012 at 12:00 PM
So if John Kerry won Ohio independents and still lost the state, what does that tell you about the chances for a Democrat who is losing Indies by double digits in most polling?
Gingotts on October 26, 2012 at 12:03 PM
The point of that statement was just because Romney leads independents doesn’t mean he’s going to win. Kerry won independents and still lost.
Ric on October 26, 2012 at 12:08 PM
Lulz. you’re living in one messed up reality.
IR-MN on October 26, 2012 at 12:08 PM
That still doesn’t make sense. All that proves is that Ohio is actually much more difficult for Democrats than Republicans, which I can say without a doubt is true because I was born and raised in Ohio and just left Ohio in 2009 and I still have family in Ohio and visit at least 3 times a year.
MobileVideoEngineer on October 26, 2012 at 12:15 PM
Things change. Virginia also used to be a lot more republican too. Ditto for New Mexico and Nevada. Although you could make the argument that Ohio is more about events than demographics. Auto bailout really helped Obama out this election cycle. If he wins, he can point to that and Latinos as the reason why.
Ric on October 26, 2012 at 12:18 PM
No stuff Sherlock. The point of my statement is that is at best a misguided assumption. What it proves is that Ohio is a Republican leaning state by default. Cook PVI R+1 in fact. That means it defaults to 51-49 Republican. A Democrat is required to win a higher share of Independents in order to take the state.
A Democrat incumbent that is actually losing independent voters… ouch.
Gingotts on October 26, 2012 at 12:21 PM
So now you wanna lecture on preconceived notions re polling when you opened with a comment touting an Iowa poll you then went on to backtrack about re internal numbers and dubious party ID? You Libs crack me up.
And it’s not about being ‘right’ or ‘wrong’ in the end or who out-hustled who on the ground game for me, I just want this country returned to her former glory where people can hold their heads up high instead of running to the food stamp line.
RepubChica on October 26, 2012 at 12:21 PM
Okay now I know you are an idiot. Try not spewing stupidity when talking to someone from Ohio. The auto bailouts did NOTHING for Ohio. My hometown of Marysville is home of Honda, the same Honda that makes up the MAJORITY of the auto industry jobs in the state of Ohio. GM and Chrysler make up about one third of the auto industry jobs in the state. Honda and Ford make up the rest.
MobileVideoEngineer on October 26, 2012 at 12:22 PM
A recycled talking point. Auto bailout had the most effect in Michigan. There Obama had a 16.5% margin of victory in 2008. Now he’s down to a 4% lead.
If events are the determinant in Ohio, then apparently the auto bailout isn’t going to save him. Particularly as it didn’t really touch Ohio’s plants. (Didn’t do much for Michigan’s either, but that aside…)
Obama doesn’t have the luxury of being able to give up 12.5 points in Ohio if he wants to win the state.

If you need to resort to names and all caps your too emotional.
Ric on October 26, 2012 at 12:29 PM
Would like to respond but have to get ready for work. Have a good day.
Ric on October 26, 2012 at 12:30 PM
If you need to resort to pointing out the fact that I used caps, you have no argument. I’m not emotional at all, I am just simply tired of the moronic talking points that have absolutely no basis in reality.
MobileVideoEngineer on October 26, 2012 at 12:31 PM
Another sign of having no argument. When trolls are losing, they simply leave.
