Poll of active and reserve troops: Romney leads Obama, 66/26
“There is really an affinity for Republican candidates, even though [troops] say that what counts is character and handling the economy,” said Richard Kohn, who teaches military history at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill.
Poll results indicate that about 66 percent of those surveyed support Romney, compared with about 26 percent who say they will vote to re-elect President Obama.
When asked about the most important issue guiding their vote this year, about 66 percent of respondents cited either “the economy” or “the character of the candidate.” Less than 16 percent of troops surveyed cited “national security.”
And the war in Afghanistan is barely a blip on the radar: Just more than 1 percent put that conflict at the top of their list of concerns.

Any wonder why Obama slashed funds to support troop outreach for voting?

Fighting to make sure illegal immigrants can vote without ID = Good
Fighting to make sure the people who defend our freedoms can vote = Bad
Obama sure has some great priorities.

And why requests for absentee ballots form the military have ‘mysteriously’ fallen off.
michaelo on October 8, 2012 at 1:35 PM
Which is why so many military ballots will be “lost” or not sent to the military in time to allow them to cast votes.
AZCoyote on October 8, 2012 at 1:35 PM
Fully 1/2 of that 26% comes from one group.

That is the sad and infuriating truth. Of all the people whose votes should be most protected, it is our active-duty servicemen and servicewomen who put their lives on the line every day. Absolutely reprehensible.

That is what I was wondering after reading this article. Do they think their votes won’t be counted or the states won’t get their ballots out on time? Something stinks if this article is correct and the news on the military asking for ballots! I believe bho knows he won’t get the votes, so don’t send out ballots and if you do, don’t count them?

Even though? WTF?

The Regime’s efforts to suppress the military vote might be a good subject for some PAC ads in VA, NV and OH.

Doesn’t matter. Their vote is being supressed this year.

And to make matters worse, Ohio and Virginia have heavy concentrations of military votes.

What was the % in ’08?
LtGenRob on October 8, 2012 at 1:46 PM
According to Military Times it was 68/23 Mccain/Obama in 2008.

Nothing new, though I’m certain the generals are doing a heck of a job trying to change this. May they fail and may they spontaneously combust for trying, with all their PC crap.

Hence the delay in sending of the ballots and misinformation as to when the ballots are due. Of those that do manage to make it to the troops and are sent back on time, many will be lost in boating accidents.

Perhaps putting them on a terror watch list would help.

Obama’s strategy on the military vote: SUPPRESS SUPPRESS SUPPRESS

Yet at the suggestion that voters should prove who they are when they vote in person liberals scream about voter fraud and disenfranchisement of voters. Despicable.

Sad that we have such a racist military.
