GOP leads in early voting in North Carolina
N.C. Vote Tracker reports that 25,263 North Carolinians have already cast their votes. Among those, 13,459 were Republicans, 7,130 were Democrats and 4,630 were unaffiliated.
At this same point in 2008, there were 16,560 ballots returned in North Carolina. Of those, 9,513 were by Republicans, 4,568 by Democrats and 2,472 by unaffiliated voters.

According to those numbers, Republican early turnout is up by almost 50% while Doom and Indie turnouts are down. Keep that up, match it on November 6 and NC will be +15 in the Romney electoral column as it’s a toss-up on most electoral maps I’ve seen. I was going to say if you want a laugh check out HuffPo’s map but whoa, even HuffPo is changing it’s tune. Last week their map had Bammie at 337 and Mitt under 200, today it’s 281 to 206–amazing. What is it about the calendar reading “October” that makes that worm turn so quickly?
