TV movie on Bin Laden raid to air … the weekend before the election
Two days before Election Day on November 6, a movie detailing the raid that killed Osama bin Laden will air on the National Geographic Channel, the cable network announced Thursday.
The film is being distributed by the Weinstein Company, owned by a Harvey Weinstein, a major backer of President Barack Obama’s re-election campaign.
Titled, “SEAL Team Six: The Raid on Osama bin Laden,” the feature-length film will chronicle the raid in Pakistan, an event that Obama’s campaign touts as one of his crowning achievements.

At this point, bringing up Obama’s foreign policy is NOT going to help the O-man
thebrokenrattle on October 4, 2012 at 11:59 PM
lol … what channel is that even on? And they’re airing it on a Sunday night? Up against Dexter, Boardwalk Empire, etc. Good call.
Remember when they were a respected company? I remember looking forward to their specials on TV. Now they have a TV channel that airs 9/11 conspiracies.
strictnein on October 4, 2012 at 11:59 PM
Will the eventual DVD include a special features section of how Obama sparked another deadly 9/11 attack by repeatedly spiking the football for political gain?

If this special is as cheezy and rushed as it sounds, this could embarrass weak 0 supporters into staying home.

I wonder how the Muslim Brotherhood movie critics will like it. Two Molotov cocktails down?

Backfire City.
In between then and now is a foreign policy debate and far too many uncomfy questions about the low-pro security in Bengahzi for this to be an issue.
By the time this airs more people will be pissed and not watch it then there will be people who do watch it.

They promised to air it after. May they go to Hades, all of them.
Schadenfreude on October 5, 2012 at 12:58 AM
The SEALs should run theirs on the same day then.
Schadenfreude on October 5, 2012 at 12:58 AM
It would have to, otherwise what would be the point; are the SEALS going to be on the ballot?
Nobody would watch a movie about Navy SEALS and then think, “Hey, I should vote for Barack Hussein Obama for President!” The movie will show the Messiah as the hero of the story. And it’s a little hard to imagine how it can do that and not be a farce – albeit a completely unfunny one.
logis on October 5, 2012 at 1:00 AM
They should air this instead…
Abū al-Qāsim Muḥammad ibn ʿAbd Allāh ibn ʿAbd al-Muṭṭalib ibn Hāshim
Funnier then anything SNL has come up with in the last 15 years..

It was the night before killmas,
when I got a call,
a spy had located bin Laden,
in a house behind a wall
So I woke up the Mooch
and called Val for help,
for I needed to put on my killsuit
and 2 new diapers fresh.
Then I started the chopper with my stare and charm,
with a knife in my mouth and a bunch of loaded arms.
When I crossed into P’stan ,suddenly I realized
that I had forgot to kiss my sweetie good bye.
But I was so pumped and I was so high
that I repelled down the rope with the chopper standing in the sky.
I dodged a hail of bullets coming at me
because that bin Laden dude was not glad to see me.
He looked at me with blood shot eyes, while his sons shot at me with AK 95s.
Then I noticed that I had no kevlar on me,
but I am a patriot so I just had to kill the enemy.
I killed one son and then the other with my knife,
I told the women and children to pray for their life.
When Osama tried to run I followed him upstairs,
and killed him with my bare hands and sweet stare .
I loaded all the bodies on my shoulder while they were still warm
to take them up back to the chopper which was waiting for my charm.

16 hours.
They should do a special on what president puppy-muncher did, in the 16 hours it took him to make that “gutsy call”.

After Reagan brought down the Soviets, Democrats insisted that credit should go equally to both parties despite the fact that Democrats fought Reagan tooth and nail in his efforts against the Soviets.
When the military’s special ops forces kill Bin Laden, then the Democrats insist that it’s Obama’s victory even though Republicans have always been in favor of supporting military efforts.

Yawn. We already know that Rasputin, er, Jarrett, made the call.
Regardless, Christopher Stevens and three other dead Americans were unfortunately unavailable to narrate thanks to Obama and Clinton.

The Ben Afleck movie (Argo) opens in late October, It’s designed to make Jimmy Carter and Democrats look like heros in the Iranian hostage crisis.

Not too many people even get that channel, I don’t think, unless they’ve got a premium cable package.
Fox oughta air a special investigative report on the Benghazi cluster-F in the same time slot.
Alex_SF on October 5, 2012 at 2:51 AM
Fun trivia fact — the National Georgraphic Channel may have the Nat Geo name, but it’s actually run by an arm of Fox Broadcasting. Which once again shows the left’s foaming-at-the-mouth anger over Rupert Murdoch never, ever get the point that ideology is less important to Rupert than openings to make money.
Apparently Fox thinks they can get the pro-Obama crowd to tune in the Sunday before the election … though I suppose with the left, you can really play some head games with them by saying it’s a trap, and Fox is only doing this so their news channel can equate Weinstein’s film to “Innocence of Muslims” and link Obama’s killing of bin Laden with the current Middle East and North African riots (which actually would be at least in part true, but it’s not like you’re going to get anyone in the Obama camp to admit that between now and Nov. 6).

Barely. That seems like a long time ago. I used to watch a lot of National Geographic, Discovery, Learning Channel, etc. before they devolved into trash, revisionism and politics. The last straw was when Discovery started running Ted Koppel commentary.
At least two.

Sadly, I won’t be able to see it since I don’t get that channel. I am wondering if the Embassy security will be stepped up for the inevitable attacks? Will Obama denounce this movie as the cause?

NatGeo is hoping that in ObamiNation 2.0, they’ll become the fiscal heir to PBS.

The National Geographic Channel is owned by NewsCorp… go complain to Rupert Murdoch.
BTW, I absolutely loath Rupert Murdoch… he is a fraud who too often plays both sides to profit.

Didn’t Hillary Clinton sue to stop a movie portraying her in an unflattering light (I know, redundancy) from being released before an election? They were arguing it was a donation-in-kind for her opponent. I may be a bit fuzzy on the details. What’s the difference here? A movie that portrays Obama in a flattering light, released just before an election is a donation-in-kind, isn’t it?

You have to get the super digital package around here to even get that channel.
No one is going to see it.
